Chapter three: Sharlene's recurring dream

"No…I have to…go…must…save Yami. I'm coming…" Sharlene woke up from the dream, she sweated heavily. She put her hand about her heart. It hurt so much, for a second; she thought she was going to die. "Aaahhh…" She sighed. And then she got up from the bed and opened the curtains. It was raining heavily outside, lightening and thunders too. She opened the door to the balcony and walked out.

The rain dropped on her heavily, she face was twisted because of the pain. She stood at the balcony and looked at scarred face of the sky. "Why? Why are you torturing me?" She asked herself. Then slowly she sat down on the floor, crying. Sharlene had been having the dream for as long as she could remember, and every time when she woke up, she had the same fatal pains in her heart. When she was younger, she just ignored the dream, because nothing had made sense to her in the dream and she thought she just didn't have a good sleep.

About a year ago, she mastered the art of duelling monster and the weird dream came back to her more rapidly. And dream started making sense to her now. In the dream, Sharlene saw herself gaudily dressed in Egyptian clothes, in front of her; there are two men who are duelling monsters. She saw her running into one of the men who she called Yami and then she woke up. Sharlene never saw the whole thing, she never knew what happened.

On the balcony, Sharlene stood up and looked out at the endless dark sky. Closed her eyes, she climbed and stood on the railing. The wind howled, she looked like she was going to be shoved anytime… She opened her eyes then she sneered at herself. "Sharlene, if you want to die, go choose somewhere higher than the second floor." She said to herself. "You've come too far; it's not the right time to give up!" She went back down and went into her room to get changed.

"Oh, great. Wait till Martha see this. She's going to be so mad at me." Sharlene looked at the wet carpet. "Sorry, Martha!" Sharlene said to the air.

Martha's the Butler. To Sharlene, Martha was more like her mother. Sharlene lived with her rich grandpa, her parents died in a plane crush when she was one year old. Martha had been looked after her ever since. She had told Martha about her weird dream; Martha told her it would be some messages to show her some unfinished will from her previous life Sharlene just laughed and thought it's impossible for people have repeating lives.

Sharlene laid on her king size bed wide awake, she thought about the vacation she had in Egypt a few months ago. She didn't know why she came to Egypt; she just knew she needs a holiday from all those heavy work. Sharlene got up and opened her lab top and started to read the diary she wrote while she was in Egypt.

"Well, today is my first day in Egypt. Everything is good, so far. As I walked out the plane, I felt it's like coming home. The weather changed dramatically. First minute it was all sunny and fine and then I walked out, the wind started blowing intensely and the rain poured down from the gloomy sky, and it was torture!!!

I was soaked and I was close to be blown away, lucky Nicolas caught my arm. It sure is nice to see Nick again. He has grown talker over the past few years. He still has that shy smile on his gorgeous face. I was thrilled to see him. I jumped to him and kissed him on the cheek. And I got him wet too ^^! He told me that Martha had told him I was coming so he had been waiting for me. Oh, Martha. I should have known that when I said I was going alone to Egypt, you didn't argue and just smiled. Oh, well, she knows what's good for me…"

Sharlene scrolled down the page and escaped to the one with tile "The Most important day of my life." She read it carefully like she did millions of times before.

"Oh, my god, oh my god, oh, my god! I can't believe what happened in the tomb today! UNBELIEVABLE! I have to write down absolutely every thing. EVERYTHING!

Today is my last day at Egypt; but I don't feel like going home tomorrow. This place feels right. Ok, when I quit my singing career, I'm gonna buy a house and live here. Nicolas said he wants to stay here forever, so we can be neighbours or we can live together. And I'm sure Martha will come to, because I'm here, and her son-liked-nephew Nick is here, it will just like the old times.

Anyways, back to the important thing. Nicolas took me to the tomb today, that's the place where he worked. He is just amazing, I mean he is just a few month older than me, but he knew so much about the old Egypt stuffs. Oh, well, he had been here for three years.

Anyhow, at the entry of the tomb, he told me that I could stay there all by myself, coz no one else was allowed in. I was so happy! The tomb seems to have some magical powers that dragged me in. I could hear my heart beat when I walked in. It was huge. I couldn't see anything at first. It was different than I thought. There wasn't even a there, no statutes no grave keepers, either. Then I noticed the stone carvings on the walls. I think it's the way they recorded their history.

YOU KNOW WHAT THE STARLTING THING IS? I CAN READ THE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN SCRIPTS!

Oh, well! I don't know how I did that! I started to think that maybe Martha is right. Maybe I was an Egyptian in my past life. Then as I read on, I found the man who I called Yami in my dream! HE WAS THE PHAROAH! Now, if I tried to risk my life to save him in my past life that means we were pretty close, and does that make me the princess or something? I thought about that, and I read on. But, I can't find any cravings that look like me! ?

`Maybe I was just a silly little servant who had a crush on the Pharaoh.' I laughed at my silly thought. I walked to the biggest stone cravings and gazed at it. It says something about the Egyptian gods and the Pharaoh's millennium puzzle's power and all that stuff. The picture below was pretty interesting; it shows two guys are duelling. One of them is Yami, I think. So I went closer and looked it more carefully.

"AH! The other guy in the picture looks like that arrogant Seto Kaiba, too bad, his battle city is over, and I should have gone… wait a second! That Yami looks like thy Yugi guy who defeated Pegasus! What the …?" I was talking to myself, I was a bit confused.

Then a voice came behind me "So they are, lady!"

I turned around and I saw a man all dressed up in Egyptian clothes, he had this weird key thingy hung around his neck, later I knew that's called Millennium Key.

He smiled at me. I thought he looked familiar somehow.

"Are you a, a, ghost?" I asked. I know it's rude, but I was sure that no one else was in here a minute ago, how could he just appear from nowhere?

"Well, lady. My name is Shadi! I am the guardian here."

"Well, nice to meet you. Shadi. My name is Sharlene!" I stretched out my hand. Didn't care whether he was a ghost or not, he seemed nice. He may tell me something useful.

"Sharlene…Sharlene…Ah…" He repeated my name again and again…"

"DING…" The phone tone made Sharlene jumped. She stood up and stared at the phone.

`No! Not him again!' thought Sharlene, ever since she got back from Egypt, someone had been calling her again and again telling how much he loved her and still loves her. She thought that he may be some guy from her past, she wanted to ask him about her past, but he never answered her, he freaked her out most of the time.

"DING…" The phone kept ringing. Sharlene took a deep breath and grabbed the hand set. She didn't want it to wake everyone else up. It had been a busy day for everybody.

"Hello? Sharlene speaking."

"Hey, sweetheart. How are you?" Sharlene felt so relived when she heard Mia's voice.

"Bad! Don't you know it's three o'clock in the morning?!" Sharlene pretended to be angry. "Oh, Hon, I'm sorry. I am just about to have dinner here."

"It's ok, I was awake anyway."

"So, what took you so long to answer the phone?"

"Sorry! I am too slow! Are you having a good time in France?"

"Yeah, you bet! Oh, Hon, what happened to your cell phone?"

"I broken it, I'll get another one tomorrow. And I will call you first, ok?"

"Sure."

"Hey, Mia. Do you want to come and stay with me for a while?"

"Ok, I will come next week if it's ok with you."

"Of course! Mia, you know you are my one and only favourite cousin!"

"Oh, alright, Hon, I got go, my dinner is ready!"

"Alright, you have fun!" Sharlene hung up the phone. It sure was nice to hear from Mia. "Great, better get some sleep! What a night!" Sharlene threw herself onto the bed.
