"Are you just going to stare or would you like to talk about something Yugi?" She asks without looking up from the water. Startled Yugi joins her at the fountain.

"I didn't mean to stare little sister." Placing a hand on his shoulder, Yugi looked Elena in the eye. "Elena you know that you can tell me or Isis anything. If there is something bothering you or something you need help with, just ask us and we'll do our best to help, okay?"

"I know that, big brother. But there is nothing wrong. What gave you the idea that there was something wrong?"

"Its just that every month since you first came here you disappear on the new moon and don't come back till noon the next day and you head straight to your bedchambers the moment you get back. You ignore our questions and Seth once told me that each time he's seen you after disappearing, your energy appears to be almost completely drained yet the next day you're perfectly fine. Everyone's worried about you. Please tell me what's going on."

Elena just stared at him, not saying a word when suddenly she began laughing and almost fell into the fountain. Yugi, surprised at her response, catches her before she fell in. "This isn't a laughing matter, Elena. I'm being serious." After a few minutes Elena finally stops laughing but is still smiling.

"Please forgive me for laughing. It's just that I thought my guardians explained things before they left." Seeing Yugi's confused look she understood. "They never explained anything, did they."

Now Yugi was really confused. "Explain what?" He asked. "What didn't they tell the others, Elena?"

Elena took a deep breath to calm her nerves and clear her mind. "As you know, my task is to protect the barrier and make sure that no one crosses either way." She played with the water's surface not really paying attention to anything. "But what no one know is that isn't my only task. I am also required to reinforce the barrier until it reaches a certain strength." Yugi was surprised by what he heard. "I can do this at any time but for some reason it takes less energy to reach the barrier during the new moon. And the reason I retreat to my bedchamber is to rest and replenish my energy."

"Oh, so that's the big secret." Yugi said smiling. "Why didn't you tell us sooner."

"I thought you knew. But even with the training Seth gives me and the ease of working under the new moon, I still use up a large quantity of my energy. Though, if it weren't Malik's help the danger would be greater." Yugi thought he heard wistfulness in Elena's voice when she mentioned the Tomb Keeper.

"So just ask Seth to increase your training and see if that helps. Now…what's this about the Tomb Keeper? Have you got a crush on him, Elena?" Yugi asked as her cheeks turned pink. Before she could say anything, though, a voice called from inside the garden.

"ELENA! Are You Ready To Go!? Its Almost Noon!"

Elena gave Yugi a hug and a kiss on his cheek. "See you at noon tomorrow, brother." With that she ran into the garden to meet up with Malik. Yugi watched her leave before heading off to lunch.
