Selena sighed. Here she was, sitting on a train on the way to Domino. Going to live with a distant cousin that she had never met before.

Selena closed her eyes. She had a long way to go before the train reached Domino. Too long. Selena glanced at the slip of paper in hand. But she wasn't really reading it. She knew the name on the slip by heart. Seto Kaiba. The dreaded cousin. Head of Kaiba Corp. Probably using hundred dollar bills as toilet paper. Filthy, stinking rich.

Selena closed her eyes again. She had to get some sleep before she got to Domino. But she couldn't sleep. What if Kaiba called with some important info.?

She was tired. "Maybe I can get a little bit of sleep," she thought.

She thought about what her mom had said, "Please… just go."

"No," Selena had replied. But she went anyway.

Maybe she had wanted to go. To get away from a life of poverty and illness. Erase all memories of the past. Forever.

Selena shook her head. She was thinking too much. If she thought anymore, her brain probably wouldn't be working by the time she got to Domino.

"Mom," she thought. "I wish you were here with me right now… I need you more than ever. I need you to help me get through this."

She wistfully hoped that her mom would answer as she squeezed her eyes shut. She listened hard, hoping to hear something.

All she could hear was the sound of people talking, and the sound of the food cart coming by. She couldn't hear her mom.

Selena opened her eyes, hoping to see an apparition or something. She saw nothing. Sure, there were people and everything, but no apparition. No spirit. No mom.

"Maybe," she thought. "If I just go to sleep, mom'll come."

With that thought, she drifted off to sleep.
