[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Meira: The Heart of the Cards II.

Yami: Will she defeat the Blue Eyes?

Meira: Maaybe.

Yami: NO fair! I'm a better duelist. I taught her!

Meira: I KNOW!

Yami: I can beat you too!

Meira: I don't have time for this.

Yami: XP

Meira: Say the disclaimer…

Yami: Fine. Meira doesn't own anything. Only Selena and the Fairies. GLTB, are you still mad?

GLTB: *shoots him a death glare* What do you think?

Yami: I'll take that as a yes…

Meira: Lol… this story is almost over.

Yami: NOO!!

Meira: Yeah… only two more chapters.

Yami: NOOO!!!

GLTB: …

Yami: *glares at Kaiba*

GLTB: You'd better not beat him up again…

Yami: Meira'll kill me if I do that again…

Meira: Yup. :P

And I lied… I told Jeff that I was only going to update Double Identity, not The Heart of the Cards. Hehe… I'm so mean…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Selena's hand trembled as she reached for her next card.
"Selena!" Yami yelled. "Remember what I told you! Believe in the Heart of the Cards!"
He's right! Selena thought. She had to believe in the Heart of the Cards. She needed the right card, and fast. She only needed one card to complete the combo. C'mon, Heart of the Cards, Selena thought. Guide me. [Meira: Sound familiar? Hehe…] She drew her card. It was exactly the card she needed.
"I place one card face down," she said. "And your swords have faded!"
"Good," Kaiba said. "Now, Blue Eyes, attack her Dark Magician Girl!"
"I activate the magic card, Magical Hats!" Selena yelled. "Now my magician is concealed within. Choose your hat!"
Kaiba fumed. Leave it to Yugi to teach her a combo that would delay his victory. "Blue Eyes! Attack the hat on the left!" His Blue Eyes attack, filling the air with smoke. When the smoke cleared, he saw the Dark Magician Girl standing there, preparing herself for a counter attack with the Magical Cylinders.
"And, you also activated my Spellbinding Circle trap! It decreases your Blue Eyes's attack power by 700 points!" Selena yelled. (Blue Eyes: 3200/2500) "And say goodbye to your dragon!" The Dark Magician Girl fired his Blue Eyes's attack right back at it, destroying the dragon. (Kaiba: 1000)
Kaiba smirked. "You don't stand a chance!" he yelled. "I play Monster Reborn to bring back my Blue Eyes!" Selena looked shocked. "And now, I use the magic card, Polymerization, to fuse my Blue Eyes with the other two Blue Eyes in my hand, to form the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! (4500/3800)" he laughed. "Let's see you defeat my Ultimate Dragon!"
Selena was in trouble. She didn't' know what to do. But she did know one thing. If she believed in the Heart of the Cards, she would defeat this dragon. All she needed to do was draw the card she needed.
"Well?" Kaiba asked. "Make your move so that my Ultimate Dragon can end this duel!"
Selena glared at him. "This duel's far from over!" she yelled. She drew her card. "I play one card face down," she said. "Next, I sacrifice both my Dark Magician and my Dark Magician Girl, to bring out this!" she placed a card down. "The Sorcerer or Dark Magic!" (3200/2800)
Kaiba laughed. "Your sorcerer may be powerful," he scoffed. "But it's a novice compared to my dragon!"
Selena glared at him again. "My turn isn't over," she said. "I now arm my Sorcerer of Dark Magic with the Book of secret Arts, raising it's attack and defense power!" (3500/3100)
Kaiba laughed again. "It's still too weak to survive," he sneered. "You're done for." He pointed at the Sorcerer of Dark Magic. "Attack!" he yelled.
"You've activated my trap card, Life Shaver!" she yelled. Your dragon's attack power drops by 2000 points! (2500/3800)" She turned to her sorcerer. "Dark Magic Attack!" And so, her sorcerer attacked. Kaiba's Life Points dropped down to zero. (Kaiba: 0; Selena: 2200)
Kaiba glared at her while Selena jumped up and down. "I won my first duel!" she yelled.
"Yugi," Kaiba spat. "You can leave now." Yami nodded.
Selena walked over to him and handed him back his Dark Magician. "Thank you, Yami," she whispered. "For everything." Yami smiled at her.
"OUT!!!" Kaiba yelled. Yami waved to Selena and left.
The next day at school, everywhere people were talking about Selena beating Kaiba in her very first duel.
"Yeah, she beat him-"
"I heard it was her first duel-"
"She beat his Ultimate Dragon-"
Kaiba heard these whispers all throughout the school the next day. People had been pointing at him and whispering in every class, at lunch, in the halls, everywhere.
He wanted to blame somebody for his loss. He couldn't blame Selena though. She had won by luck.
But he could blame Yugi. Blame him for teaching her. Blame him for helping her. Blame him for the fact that Selena had challenged him to a duel. Blame him for everything.
He'd never forgive Yugi, no matter what.
"Wait!" Yami yelled. Selena turned around.
"Hey!" she smiled.
"How's the first day as a person that's beaten Kaiba?" he smirked.
"I wonder how Yugi can stand it," Selena groaned, ignoring Yami's look of offended pride. "I mean, having people point to you and laugh and talk about you behind your back…"
"I duel with Yugi you know," Yami said, the very image of a hurt person. Selena laughed.
"I hope you come up with a better insult than that…" she said dryly.
"Possibly," he replied, smiling.
This was it… the Ceremonial Battle. Yami and Yugi had come through so much… defeating Dartz… Leonard von Siegel… Bakura… Zork…
"And now I play the Dark Magician!" Yami yelled from up on the platform. He materialized up on the platform. Possibly if it weren't Yugi that was facing Yami… things would be different. "Mahado," Yami said to the Magician.
I sat down. I could hear it raining up there… it was raining pretty hard too…
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Téa noticed and sat down next to me.
"It's okay," she whispered. "There's always a chance…" But she couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
I couldn't be like this… I had to support both of my friends. Both of my best friends… the best friends that I ever had…
Drip. Drip. Drip.
There wasn't really that much more… I just had to wait… and see how this battle turned out…
Drip. Drip. Drip.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`

Meira: She beat Kaiba!

GLTB: You're still good though, Seto.

Kaiba: Thanks. *hands GTLB a rose*

GLTB: ^-^

Meira: ^-^

Kaiba: The ending's bad though.

Meira: I know… this is one of my crappier chapters… even out of all my FanFics… But hey. This is still my first FanFic… and I finished this story around… the beginning of September?

Yami: Then why have you not posted up the rest of the chapters?

Meira: Don't have time. I have to keep on writing Double Identity or GLTB will kill me…

GLTB: …

Yami: -.-`

GLTB: *wipes tear*

Meira: This is Chapter 19, not 21.

Yami: Why? What happens?

GLTB: Patience is a virtue. Please Read and Review!

Meira: Damnit… this chapter was so much longer handwritten… and it gets so short once I typed it…

Yami: Things just turn out that way.

Meira: *threateningly* If you don't shut up, I'll replace you!

Yami: With who?

Meira: Um… Yugi!

Yami: *shuts up*

Meira: Now I can go back to writer's block… And yes, this is supposed to be a really sad Fic… I love those angsty stories… too bad I'm not in an angsty mood when I write them… Now I just need to come up with a better idea to finish up this story…

Yami: I thought you said that you already finished this story.

Meira: Yeah… a way to sort of edit the next two chapters… it's difficult.

Yami: -.-` I can tell… And what's with the Drip. Drip. Drip?

Meira: Symbolism.

Yami: …

Meira: You guys might not understand… think beyond the rain.

Yami: ???

Meira: Never mind…
