Chapter 1 - Memories

The next morning Malik woke up with a blistering headache. "What the fuck," he croaked when he realized it was his sister in the bed next to him instead of his boyfriend. Ishizu's hair was tide up in a bun but still was wild. He stared at her for a good three minutes before he snatched a random pillow and hit her with it.

Ishizu was jerked awake just to find two big, round, violet eyes gaping at her. "Why'd the hell you do that for. Malik blinked like an owl and didn't respond. Ishizu sighed and wondered to herself why her brother was acting like a child. "Are you okay?" she asked gently. If it was even possible Malik's eyes got bigger in shock. Ishizu figured that he thought that he would get scolded for being so immature but she decided against it.

She got up the bed and stretched lazily. "Sissy?" a small voice asked from behind her. She turned around and looked into Malik's bright eyes.

"Yes," she responded.

"What happened last night?" he asked, sounding like a four year old. Ishizu smiled softly at how cute her brother could be at this age. She extended an arm and brushed a stray bang out of her brother eyes.

"If you don't remember than maybe it's for the best," she told him but that didn't please the tenacious 15 year old. {1}.

"But I do remember some of it!" he argued. "I just can't remember the end,"

"I know, sweetie, I know. But until you remember the end try not to let it bother you."

Marik looked disappointed but decided to drop the subject. Instead he jumped off the bed and ran to the bathroom across the hall. Ishizu laughed at her brother's innocence and walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Marik was making sausages and eggs with orange juice on the side. He was whistling a random song when he noticed Ishizu was currently in the room. "How's Malik?" he asked cautiously.

"He doesn't remember the end. He doesn't know what scares him." Ishizu sighed. "I wish I could help him."

"We could help him if you would just let me and-" Marik began but was cut off by Ishizu's objection.

"How many times do I have to tell you? YOU ARE NOT GOING INTO HIS MIND!" she yelled failing to notice her brother coming down the stairs. "I'm afraid you'll find something that we don't want to see so do us both a favor and drop it!"

"Drop what?" Malik asked walking over to his koi {2} he placed his chin on his lovers shoulder and looked up at Ishizu. "Who's mind are y'all going into?"

For a moment Malik thought that they weren't going to respond when Ishizu suddenly spoke up. "You ask to many questions," she stated lamely. "Now eat your breakfast and get ready for school."

Malik whimpered in protest but a sharp look from his sister stopped him. Marik smiled at the two siblings. "Do what your sister says," he ordered at the younger boy. Malik looked down into his lover's eyes and kissed him attentively on the lips.

"Do I have to?" he asked as seductively as he could at the early morning.

"Yes," Marik confirmed to Malik's disappointment. Marik laughed at this and smacked Malik's ass to get him started. Malik took a seat next to his yami and practically inhaled his breakfast. He then ran up the stairs to change into his school uniform.

Ishizu looked up at Marik in worry. "He's going to be okay," she said to herself.

"One of these days something is going to happen and we'll regret what we are doing right now." Marik told her.

"And what exactly is that?"

"Nothing."

Ten minutes later Malik was downstairs a ready to go. "Marik!" he yelled. "Marik I'm ready!" Ever since the whole Kea incident Marik wouldn't let Malik out by himself any more, even if it were to walk the five minutes to his high school. Malik didn't know why he wasn't allowed to do these but he decided not to ask questions and to allow his koi to agonize over him. Marik showed up in his traditional attire, khaki pants and a white t-shirt that stopped right above his belly button.

"C'mon, let's go." Marik said putting his long hair into a ponytail. They two pairs walked out of the house and onto Marik's motorcycle completely unaware that they were being watched.

A pair of bluish-brown eyes followed them to Domino high school. The eyes watched Marik drop his hikari off and kiss him good-bye. Malik looked around for a moment and found whom he was searching for. The moment he saw Ryou he bid Marik goodbye and ran to his friend.

The eyes wanted to stay with the two helpless boys but they knew that a school is very picky about letting strangers in without a good reason. Eventually they made the decision to follow the yami to where ever he was going. Swiftly the blond figure moved like a cat in the night throughout the bushes and the trees. Eventually the red motorcycle and the person riding it caught the green light and she was no longer able to stalk her prey. "Dammit," she cussed under her breath. Yes, she knew where he was going but she wanted to talk to him before that girl got near him. She knew the other girl could tell the future and that worried her. Maybe it could help the other side.

~Marik's point of view~

I reached the Domino Museum ten minutes after I dropped Malik off at school. I walked the familier path down to the basement where the new Ancient Egypt set up was taken place. I've been working here for the past ten months off my life and it was really boring but the money was good so I really didn't care. {1}

I saw Ishizu leaning over a tablet trying to translate something. I walked over to her and smacked her eyes. She wasn't fazes. "Marik, do it again and I'll file a lawsuit," she said with a slight hint of a smirk on her face. For someone who could tell the future you would figure you would see a smack coming. "Now help me translate this shit,"

"Language," I said with mock surprise. I leaned over and took a close look at the tablet the tan girl was looking at. It was full of Egyptian symbols that would look very much complex to any other person but I knew what I was doing. "It tells a story," I said with a smile.

"And," Ishizu pressed trying to get more out of me. It was a bit funny because back in my day everyone knew this story.

"It tells of a boy who gets kidnapped by an evil queen. The queen tries to kill the boy but his friends come and save him. Everyone thinks the queen is now defeated but she really was just hiding. She hid in the deserts of Egypt until everyone forgot about her, then she kidnapped the little boy once more and this time she did kill him,"

Ishizu looked disgusted. "What kind of fable is that?"

"Moral of the story; if you don't see it happen then doesn't believe it. The little boy believed that he was safe only because the townspeople said that the queen was murdered. He didn't find out that it was all a lie until it was too late." I smiled "nice bedtime story huh,"

Ishizu made a face before turning back to the tablet. "This tablet was found in the pharaoh's chambers in Egypt. Now what would a leader be doing with fairy tales?"

"Probably for the moral; trust nothing anybody tells you." I suggested "But the only way to really be sure is to ask the source."

Ishizu smiled. "Maybe I'll call him up later today.

{1} Who would know more about Ancient Egypt then someone who was still alive back then?

A/N: This chapter was short and crappy because I wasn't really motivated. This story doesn't want to be written and the right side of my brain and the left side of brain are currently bitching at one another on how to end it. I pretty much have everything planned except for the ending. If you want to help me out you can review or e-mail me at mariksyami@yahoo.com. Thanx.
