In the pinelands of new jersey,in the united states,a peaceful quiet land
ful of trees,the cedar stands throughout the swamp stain the streams with tannin.
27 varieties of orchids grow there.But on a stormy night in 1735,a Quaker woman gave birth
to a child during a thunderstorm.The room flickered with canderlight.The wind howl.Some
believed her to be a sorceress.The impoverished woman,known as mother
leeds,was belived to have many other childern-as many as 12.Some say
the child was born deformed.Some say she cursed the child because of her dire
straits.Others accounts say the child was born normal and took on odd
characteristics later.
Characteristicd such as an elongated body,winged shoulders,a large horse-like head,
cloven feet and a thick tail.According to legend,the child was confined until it made it's
escape either out the cellar door or up the chimney.The Jersey Devil had been born.
In 1850,a village was having a thankgiving dinner,when they heard a sound in the woods.
It was the devil.Anyway,the devil never come out in the morning and daytime,it only comes out
midnight.In the village,they have torches all around the forest,they also have 4 watch towers top,left,right,bottom.
