The "Living" Nightmare

Chapter 2

Yugi sat at his deck at Domino High staring at his Millennium Puzzle. He wasn't paying much attention to the teacher. It had been a mouth since the spirit disappeared from the Puzzle, and Yugi was getting supper worried. Where have you gotten to, Yami? He thinks I can't be the duelist I am with out you. Just then the Millennium Puzzle started to glow a soft glow. A small smile went across his face. Spirit? Have you return? There was no answer from the missing spirit. That's odd. Yugi thought if Yami didn't return then why is the Puzzle glowing like that?

"Quiet down students." The teacher started "We got a new student today." Everyone, including Yugi, looked up front at the teacher.

A new student? Yugi thought Usably we don't get new students this late in the year.

The teacher look towards the classroom door. "You may come in now." She said with a smile "Come one, don't be shy."

Everyone looked on in surprised as a young teenage boy walked into the room. "Hey," Joey started "He looked like that big Yugi in that dream."

Yugi eyes widen in surprised. It can't be. He thought.

"Everyone," the teacher started as she gently put a hand on the boy's shoulder "This is Josh McGrath. He just moved here from America."

Yugi still couldn't believe his eyes. The new kid looked exactly like Yami. The only difference was that his left hand was bandage, he wasn't wearing a version of the Millennium Puzzle, and the school uniform's coat didn't have that flare in back. He was looking down at the floor, with his arms across his chess. Yugi nearly jumped out of his seat. It is him! Yugi thought surprised.

"Who would like to show Josh around school?" the teacher asked the class.

Yugi once again nearly jumped out of his seat as he raised his hand. "I will!" he said.

The teacher smiled at him. "Very well Yugi." She said.

Yugi saw the boy looked up and towards him. Yugi gave him a smile. The boy smiled back. //You okay Spirit? // Yugi mind talk to the boy. There was no answer from the boy. Oh no, what ever happened our mind link has been cut off as well. Yugi thought.

"Josh," the teacher started, as she looked at the boy "You can take the empty set in front of Yugi."

Josh (Yami) started to walk up towards the empty set. He stopped and looked down at Yugi. Yugi can tell by the look in his eyes, and the expression he made that he really didn't like being human. He had been a spirit for so long, Yugi started to though he hasn't experience being full human. Sure he had some experience each time we merge to duel together, but not how he is now. He's scared out of his mind. Yugi watched as he sat down in the empty desk in front of him. Yugi reached over, put a hand on his shoulder, and whispered in his ear, "It's okay, Yami. We'll talk all about this later."

Josh (Yami) turn his head to look at the young Yugi, and smiled a small smile. I wish I could, Yugi. Josh (Yami) thought I wish I could…
