with Yugi and Yami, Yugi was hand in hand with Yami, looking around with excitement of the new surroundings.

 

Yami looks down at his younger brother. He sighs, shoulders sagging. "No wonder Grandpa was always so worried about you. Your powers are AMAZING! I wish I had powers like that. Then I could fight the Thief King!" he stops at a river close by. He bends down and looks at his reflection, slipping into a dreamland. He sees himself dressed in a golden armor, bowing to a crowd, while a voice glorifies him.

The voice says, "Yami of Suguroku Moto, the greatest warrior in all Prydain! A true hero!" Yami's smile grows. "Yeah. I'd be a true hero."

 

Yugi looks to his brother and smiles, happy that he's happy, then a yellow butterfly pass by his face and he diverts his attention to it, his smile grows at the moving object, he gets up quietly while Yami was daydreaming and chases after it for fun

 

His smile fades slightly. "Hey, Yugi, do you think --" Looks around him, not seeing Yugi anywhere. "Yugi? Yugi!?"

He jumps to his feet, calling out his little brother's name, running through the small forest that was around the river. He grunts as twigs begin to scratch at his skin, tree branches seeming to reach out for him. He stops, looking around him, no longer sure of where he is.

"Yugi? W-Where are? If you come out ...." He takes a piece of sweet candy out of his pocket. "I'll give you this. Come on, Yugi! I have a sweet for you!"

A strange creature jumps out at Yami, landing them both on the ground. The sweet rolls out onto the ground and the creature jumps up after it, sweeping it up and hides in a bush.

Yami gets up to his feet slowly, brushing himself off. He looks to the bush. "Hey! You! Give me my sweet back!"

The little creature's eyes are seen glowing from inside the bush. "Come on! Give it back!" The creature tentatively comes out. It had dog like features but stood up on its hind legs. It had hands and fingers like a human's, fluffy, blonde fur all over its body. It creeped out slowly and opened its palms, showing the sweet candy wasn't there. Yami sighs in irritation.

"Come on, I know you have it. You'll regret it if you don't give it back right now!"

The creature said in a squeaky voice, "Uh-uh! Jounouchi no have it --" The sweet candy falls out from behind him. "Uh oh ...." He quickly jumps on top on it, as if in attempt to hide it.

Yami blinks in frustration, and then steps forward to the creature named Jounouchi. "Hey, get off of that!" Jounouchi looks up slightly. "Come on, let's have it then!"

Jounouchi looks up at Yami with sad eyes, wipes then sweet off a bit, then holds it out to Yami. Just as Yami is about to take it, Jounouchi takes a big bite out of it, and then shoves it into Yami's hand.

Yami recoils in disgust. "Tch! You greedy little monster!" Jounouchi looks up from licking his fingers happily. "Now Yugi can't have it!" Jounouchi stares at the teen for a minute, then slumps down onto his rump, appearing to cry.

"Oh, poor, miserable Jou deserves wackings and thumping's on his poor tender head!" He sniffles. "Always left with no sweets or munchies! Jou --" He stops when they both hear a little scream in the distance.

Yami's eyes widen in panic and his stomach drops. "That was Yugi!"

Jounouchi jumps to his feet. "Goodbye!" Quickly runs off into the opposite direction. Yami ignores him and goes toward the direction of the scream.

 

When Yami comes to a clearing and he sees Yugi running from a gwythaint- a type of winged dragon. The gwythaints swoop over Yugi trying to grab him, Yugi runs around terrified, trying to escape them, but at a point one of the gwythaints grabs Yugi's arms and starts flying away, Yugi spots Yami and reaches out his hand, and in a terrified yell, he cries, "BROTHER!!!"

 

"YUGI!!" Yami cries out. He leaps out into the clearing and runs after Yugi and the gwythaint, grabbing for Yugi's little hand. "NO! BRING HIM BACK!! LET HIM GO!!! YUGI!!" His side begins to ache, his lungs bursting, he continues running. He finally grabs onto the Dragon's tail, being dragged along a few feet into the air. "LET HIM GO!!"

 

Yugi struggles in the gwythaints grip while still trying to reach for Yami. The gwythaint looks at Yami and moves his tail violently, throwing Yami off and onto the rocky ground. With tears streaming down his face, Yugi gives out one last cry before the gwythaints get out of Yami's reach and to the cliffs, "BROTHER!!!!!"

 

Yami rubs the back of head as he scrambles to his feet. "NO!! YUGI!!" He runs up after the gwythaint, climbing up a steep hill of rocks. He gets to the top, blood and sweat decorating his skin. He looks out into a vast cove of sky, Thief King Bakura's castle just beyond it. He can see the gwythaints flying away with Yugi in their capture. He gulps, tears brimming his eyes.

"I have to save him ..." He says, trying to squeeze back his tears.

"No no no! Friend cannot go in there!" Yami jumps at the sound of Jou's squeaky voice. He whirls around and says harshly, "What are YOU doing here!?"

Jou looked down slightly. "Jou came back for his friend."

Yami scoffed. "You're no friend. You ran away when you heard my brother scream! Ugh, never mind." He turned back towards the castle. "I have to go save him. Not just for grandpa, but because he's my brother." He begins walking back down the cliff towards the castle, his dread trailing behind him. Jounouchi watched him nervously from above.

"Ooh, now Jou will never see his friend again. Nope. Never."
