Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Millennium Items ❯ Princess Anzu ( Chapter 6 )

In the dungeon; Yami is sitting down on the hard gravel, only a small grating giving him light. He looks ashamedly down at the floor, afraid for his brother and guilty that he had failed his quest.

A few tears brimmed his eyes just as one of the flagstones gets pushed up and moved to the side. A bright ball of light comes up from the hole the flagstone was covering. The ball of light flirts around in mid-air providing light for the beautiful young girl that climbs out of the hole. The girl has long brunette hair that reaches down to her shoulders and blue eyes.

The girl looks around, "I swore I heard voices..." Yami finally comes into her view, "oh! Were you the voices I was hearing?"

Yami quickly pulls back his tears and nods slightly, standing up. /Maybe she can help me out of here .../

Her light bubble circles around Yami, in that way the girl could see his features better, "Are you being held prisoner?"

"Y-Yeah." He watches the bauble circling him curiously. "Are you a prisoner too?"

The girl nods and goes over to him, "yes, I'm being held against my will. I'm Princess Anzu." Anzu looks at him closely and tilts her head, "are you a lord... or a warrior?"

Yami looks down a bit. "I-I'm an assistant farmer." He flushes slightly as the bauble comes very close to his head.

Anzu looks a bit disappointed at hearing this, "Oh, what a PITY. I was so hoping for someone who could help me escape! Oh well.." she goes back over to the floor hole and steps inside, her light ball goes inside and she looks back to Yami, "if you want to come with me you may."

Yami brightens a bit at the chance to escape and quickly follows the princess; high hopes that he'll reach his little brother.

When Yami comes in the hole with her, she closes the floor tile and they walk down a passage way, her light ball lighting the way, "Oh, that wicked, wicked king! You know, he stole me. He thought my bauble could tell him where some golden items were."

Yami looked up at Anzu. "That's what he wanted my little brother for! He can tell the future, so ..." He shrugs, looking back at the bauble as it led them down the hallway.

Anzu looks back to Yami, "Oooooo! How interesting!" she looks back up front, "Well, you better stay close to me or you'll get lost." she looks at Yami at the corner of her eye, "by the way, I never caught your name...” The ball of light flies around the dark passages that no one but Anzu has been in for years. The ball of light chases the rats that live in the passages, for Anzu doesn't like them

Yami looks back up a bit surprised. "Oh. My name is Yami." He watches the bauble as it suddenly disappears into a hole in the wall. "Ah! Your lighty thingy!"

Anzu chuckles, "Oh, it's always chasing those rats!" She looks in the hole that her bauble went in a hole in the wall and looks in, she motions Yami to come over to see, "A burial chamber! This could be the tomb of the great king who built this castle! Before the Thief King Bakura took it over"

she looks over to Yami, "they say that Bakura had killed the old king and took over everything he had, that's how he got the name 'Thief King Ba-..Ahh!" The wall begins to fall apart. Yami falls forward and Anzu backs away. The dust settles leaving a hole big enough to walk through. "Are you all right?"

Yami coughs a bit, brushing the dust and rocks off of himself, hiding his annoyance of the incident. "Yeah, yeah, I'm al right." He looks around and spots an old casket over in the far corner.

He walks over to it, dusting off a bit of the cobweb and uncovers a brilliant sword. He smiles in awe. "Only a great warrior could handle a sword like this .... He must have been really great ...." He began to slowly pick up the sword, the blade beginning to give a blue aura. Yami smiled in delight.

Anzu looks around the room then hears a voice from another room coming closer, "Come on come on! We need to hurry up!" Anzu freezes at hearing this voice, "oh no! Its Bakura's minion, Marik!" she looks to Yami, "we need to get away before he comes around this area!"

Yami walks over to her grinning. "We don't need to worry! Look what I got!" He raises the sword which continued to glow.

Anzu tilts her head, "Yami... where did you get that sword?" Before Yami could answer her, they hear a dog barking and a voice pleading. They go to see who it is.
