Chapter 3 -Crazy Tristan

Serenity let the quiet of the office calm her down. Tea came in once again with Alexandra. The only difference today was that she was screaming her head off.

"Hey Serenity!" Tea yelled over the crying.

"Hey!" Serenity yelled back, "What's wrong with her?"

"She has a cold! My poor tenshi! I'm bringing her to the doctor but want Kaiba to come! He keeps her calm!" Tea pushed the door open.

"What is it?" Kaiba asked in his buisness voice, the crying made him look up. "Let me guess you want me to come to the doctor with you and Alexandria?"

"Yes!"

"Let's go..." Kaiba took Alexandria into his arms and she fell asleep. "You may go home early Wheeler." Serenity nodded and stood up. She gathered her things and went home. Deciding to visit Yugi she headed to his place first.

She knocked on the front door. Yami answered.

"Hi Serenity. Yugi's upstairs in bed. I'm afraid he caught something," Yami let her in, "His room is the second door on the left. He could use a visitor." Yami went back to sorting his deck.

Serenity knocked on Yugi's bed room door.

"Come in," Yugi moaned.

"Hey. Heard you caught something, did you?" Serenity asked sitting on his bed.

"Yeah...ACHOO! Nothing big ACHOO though," Yugi replied. "The cold is evil..."

"I guess. I better get going. I'll bring you some warm soup later! Bye," Serenity didn't know what caused her to do so but she kissed Yugi on the forehead and ran out of the room, "Good luck getting better!" She drove home as fast as she could, the blush not disapearing from her face. Yugi felt the blush just as Yami walked in.

"What happened?" Yami asked with a smirk.

"N-ACHOO! Nothing," Yugi replied still blushing.

"Yugi..."

"Yami!" Yugi scowled at him and turned onto his side. Suddenly an image of Serenity in that night gown came to mind causing him to blush deeper. Why now? WHY?! Better get some sleep. Yugi closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Serenity drove down a long stretch of high way wanting to take the long way home. This gave her some time to think. She had turned her cell phone off earlier that day. She pulled into her apartment building parking lot and there was Tristan.

Does he ever give up? I suppose not. I should talk to him. Just say no I can't see you at the moment-

"Hey Serenity. Since you got off work early want to go on a date?" Tristan asked interupting her thoughts.

"Um..." What should I say? Oh right! I have to make Yugi some soup. I can't believe I kissed him. Oh my Ra! I kissed him! On the forehead...not the lips...the forehead. Wow...I kissed him...I really kissed him. I'm in heaven. Do not smile, sound sad and say you can't. Yeah! "I can't. I promised I bring Yugi some soup. Sorry Tristan, I've got to go." Serenity pulled her apartment keys out of her purse and made her way to her home.

Her apartment was as clean as ever. She sank down into her couch and turned on the TV. Noticing nothing good was on Serenity turned it off and pulled a book off her table. Hmm...where was I? Oh yes. Page 1045 - The phone rang. Oh come on! Serenity picked it up. "Moshi moshi."

"Hey Serenity."

"Tristan stop calling me!" She hung up the phone and pulled out the cord. Phew...peace. There was a knock on the door. She looked through the peep hole. Tristan was on the other side putting his own cell phone away. "TRISTAN LEAVE NOW OR I'LL CALL THE COPS!" Serenity yelled through the door.

"Aw come on! Please? I need a date for this party!"

"Ask someone else. I'm not available!" Serenity yelled angrily and picked up her cell phone, "I'm calling the cops now!"

"Okay! I get the picture. I'm leaving!" Tristan left defeated. Don't worry my sweet. I'll win you over. Duke walked past Tristan.

"You bugging her again? I distinctly heard her say 'I'm calling the cops now!' You don't stand a chance with her," Duke laughed. He knocked on her door.

"Keep talking you idiot."

"I'll ignore that"

"Go away Tristan!" Serenity screamed.

"It's Duke."

"Oh...come in," Serenity opened the door and let him in. "Sorry. I just can't handle more of Tristan today. He came to my brothers at one point," Serenity put a pot of coffee on. "Would you like some coffee?"

"Sure. I would love some." Duke watched as Serenity poured herself and him a cup. She laughed gently. "What's so funny?"

"Well, I just thought about something that's all," Serenity handed him the cup and sat down. "Wow...Tristan is persistant."

"You know you could just call me to arrest him, I am a cop you know."

"I'm sure you would love that wouldn't you?" Serenity laughed putting down her cup.

"Suppose I would. So what have you been thinking about? Every time I mention Yugi," Serenity blushed, "You blush. What's going on? Do you like him?"

"So...how's Rick?" Serenity asked trying to change the subject. Duke knew what she was trying to do and didn't push her to answer.

"Oh him," Duke replied in a dark voice.

"What's that mean? 'Oh him.'" Serenity pondered.

"He cheated on me," Duke moaned.

"That's horrible. I'm sure you'll find someone else." There was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it." Duke got up and answered the door. It was Tristan. "Do you want me to arrest you?" Duke glared at Tristan who backed away and ran home.

"Let me guess...Tristan?"

"Yeah...maybe you should get away from here for awhile. Go to Yugi's place. Tristan wouldn't suspect you'd be there."

"I guess. Since Yugi isn't feeling well...um...I don't know," Serenity shook her head in confusion.

"Think about it this way. One: If you stay here you have to deal with Tristan constantly hounding on your door. Two: Go to Yugi's, help him get better, maybe you might even get a date out of it or three: Ask Joey and Mai if you can stay there. Your choice. But option number one is the worst of them." Duke advised.

"I suppose you're right," Serenity sighed, "This sucks. I'll be right back." Serenity went and got a shower. After she was done she packed some clothes and decided to head to Yugi's house. "You wanna give me a lift?"

"Sure. To where?"

"Yugi's house."

"Okay. Bags packed?"

"Yes. Let's just hurry. I'm really in no mood to see Tristan again for awhile," Duke laughed at the comment and showed Serenity to his car. She sat patiently waiting for the ride to end yet she wanted it to last forvever. Would Yami let her stay? She was extremley nervous.

At Yugi's door Serenity fidgeted. Duke knocked for her. Yami answered the door with a sniffle.

"You sick too?" Duke asked.

"Yes."

"Can I stay with you guys for a little bit? Tristan is starting to freak me out." Serenity looked at Yami.

:"Sure. ACHOO! Come on in." Yami walked to the living room and flopped down on the couch. "The guest room is upstairs at the end of the hall. Have fun." Yami went to sleep. He was not someone you would want to bug when sick. Serenity thanked Duke as he left. She settled herself into the guest bedroom and closed the bedroom door. She set up her things and went to visit Yugi.

"Are you feeling better?" Serenity asked walking in.

"No. ACHOO! I can't take much more of this...my tissue stack is higher than all the cards in the ACHOO world." Another sneezing fit led to a coughing fit. "My everything hurts."

Serenity laughed a little and sat down on the bed. "You want some soup?"

"Love some. Can I help?"

"No. You get to stay in bed. I'll make some for you and the spirit" Serenity went to the kitchen to make some dinner. Hmm...let's see what's in the cuboards.
