The very gigantic looking guard approached Kimora from behind and quickly flashed out his long black whip. He hit her across the back and she screamed loudly. Total silence ran through the land. As he continued to hit her. Every stroke that hit her sent a paining feeling in everyone hearts. They were starting to realize the pain that she was enduring. She was moaning and crying as he hit her continuously. She wanted to die; she didn't want to endure this pain. Every whip added more pressure and more burns.

Blood started to rush out her mouth. The blood from her back was streaming down on all sides of her body. She was moving her hands trying to get free and she couldn't help but scream. Every time she did scream he would hit her harder. Everyone watched in silence as the large man was whipping this innocent child. She only had a few more hits to go and she felt like she was going to die at any second.

When he was almost finished whipping her, the man added even more pressure to the whip and the Pharaoh ordered him to stop. The man stopped and backed away. Two guards untied her hands lifted her bloody body up and onto the ground. The villagers watched her in silence. She didn't move or attempted to move. The Pharaoh ordered the guards to clear out the villagers. "Alright move people the show is over." The people slowly began separating and returning to their homes. The women were in tears and the children were all shocked. The people that booed her, spat at her, and threw things felt ashamed and terrible. They walked off looking at her bloody back and almost burst into tears. This was not a joke it was real.

After the people started leaving the Pharaoh got up and walked over to the two guards. "Take her to the palace and put her inside an empty room. I will send some servants over to attend to her." The two guards were confused by the Pharaoh's orders. They thought, why would he help this peasant girl but without any objections, they did what they were told. The Pharaoh's 3 servants offered to help her. They followed the guards into the room where they were taking Kimora.

When they got to the empty room the guards set her on a bed. They lied her down on her stomach and the Pharaoh's 2 servants got some cold wet cloths to clean all the blood off and the other servant went to get some more supplies to help heal Kimora. Shana was angry with the Pharaoh for helping her, but she was still happy that she got whipped.

Shana was looking for her bag that the millennium scale was found in and she couldn't find it anywhere. Shana went over to her closets friend Tani to ask if she had seen the bag. "Have you seen my white bag with diamonds on it?" Tani looked at her and remembered that the bag was the one with the millennium scale in it. "Was that your bag Shana?" Shana smiled like there was nothing wrong. "Yes it was and I used it to frame that little skanky peasant." Tani was appalled by her reaction, because she knew now who the real criminal was. "How could you do something so evil like that? That girl was whipped and it's your fault." Shana laughed because she didn't care. "It's not my problem." Tani looked at her angrily and shook her head in dismay. She couldn't tell the Pharaoh because Tani has stolen things from the palace before and she would get in trouble as well if she told. "I have not seen your bag, Shana." Shana pouted and crossed her arms. "That's okay then I will just look somewhere else." Shana skipped away and continued looking for the bag.

Meanwhile...

The two servants cleared all the blood off Kimora and they lied the cold wet cloth across her back. Kimora was alive but she was sleeping. They cleaned their hands off and waited for the other servant to return. Her back was totally covered in scars. They were long wide scars that opened up. There was still blood coming out but not as much as earlier. The servants that sat in the room to watch Kimora were Hasina and Sarai. She was very tired and sat down to take a break. Kimora lied sound asleep barely breathing.

Hasina was very angry with the Pharaoh for letting this happen to someone he loves. "I know he still loves her but then again, how could she possibly still love him after what happened?" Hasina got up and looked out the window and up into the sky. The clouds were gray and gloomy. "But if he didn't love her he wouldn't have told the guard to stop whipping her and if he didn't love her he wouldn't have helped her out." Sarai said. Hasina put her hand on her chin and thought that it was a possibility. "Well you do have a point there. We still have to find out who really did it." Hasina sighed knowing that there was no point. "Why, she has already been whipped and it's too late." Sarai got up and put her hand on Hasina's shoulder.

"We are not going to give up okay? If we do than we might as well give up on ourselves." Maya returned with more cloths and some clothes for Kimora. They continued cleaning up the blood and trying to heal her large wounds.

Meanwhile...

Ashila sat in her house crying and screaming. She wanted to know where they were taking her friend. Rishad was already heading over to the palace with the rest of his friends demanding that they return Kimora. When they got to the Palace gates the guards blocked their path. As they were about to come after each other and start a huge fight, the Pharaoh came out and the guards backed away from the villagers. The Pharaoh approached Rishad for he knew that they were looking for Kimora.

"Where the hell is she dammit?" One of the guards slapped the man and the other villagers had to hold him back to keep from fighting. "She is inside the palace and we are helping her." Rishad stomped his foot on the ground trying not to get even more angry. "Your going to have her whipped for something she didn't do and then your going to help her. That makes a lot of sense." The guard came back over and kicked Rishad in the stomach. Rishad got back up and his wife came over to him and held his hand.

"I know it may not make since to you but I am doing this for her sake. She will return when she is better." Marlene stepped in front of her husband to stop him from striking the Pharaoh. "He said he is helping her now lets get back to work. They all decided to back down and walk away. They continued on with there daily lives even though they were hurt inside. The Pharaoh returned to the palace and went to check on Kimora. When he went inside the room he saw Sarai, Hasina, and Maya, asleep on the floor huddled up together. He smiled and laughed quietly.

He looked over at Kimora who was still asleep and closed the door walking back quietly to his throne. Tani saw the Pharaoh and quickly ran away. She wanted to tell the Pharaoh who really took the millennium scale but she knew that if she told on Shana, then Shana would tell on her and they both would get in trouble. She sat on the floor and put her head into her lap. Shana was in her room making herself look beautiful. She put on all kinds of jewels and make-up.

She was still the best looking girl in Egypt so far in her mind. All she did was sit in her room, walk around the palace, and occasionally walk through the village bragging about her beauty. No one said anything to her or even tried communicating with her because they know how she acts. They only tolerate her because they all have to get along inside the palace. Her closets friend Tani doesn't seem to like her anymore though. Shana decided to go into the village and see how the people have been reacting since this morning.

After while...

Kimora woke up and felt this unimaginable pain running through her back and neck. She slowly started to move. She carefully turned herself over and fell off the bed. Her back was aching and hurting even more. It felt like someone dropped a brick or a heavy stone onto her back. She stood up and began to wobble like a spinning top when it is about to fall over. She grabbed the clothes that were sitting for her and she put them on. She didn't want to go out the palace gates and look too suspicious so she ran down a dark hall and towards the window.

When she got to the window she looked down and didn't see any guards below. She saw some rope inside a room where the window was close to and she grabbed it. She tied the rope onto a statue that was sitting by the window and she let the rest of the rope hang down out the window. She looked down again and gulped than she jumped out the window and slid down the rope. Her legs and arms had rope burns on them but she still kept going. As she was running she stopped because she now had to find a way to get over the palace walls.

She saw a ladder lying on the ground by another statue and she ran over to get it. She dragged the heavy ladder over by the walls and lifted it up slowly. She leaned it up against the wall and proceeded to climb up the ladder. When she got to the top of the wall she looked down and saw one guard but she was going to climb down anyway. She sat on the ledge of the wall and pulled the ladder up and over. When she got it over the other side of the wall she climbed down. The guard stopped her as soon as she came down. She punched him hard in the face and he fell to the ground unconscious. She walked quietly and slowly past the other guards that were standing not too far away and went into the village.

She was still in pain and needed to sit down. She went over to a corner and sat down. It was getting late and there weren't that many people around. She looked down and remembered the necklace the Pharaoh gave her. She wanted to throw it away but she decided to keep it. As Shana was returning to the palace an old lady came up to her and asked her for some money. Shana laughed and pushed the old lady onto the ground. Shana continued to laugh as she walked away. The old lady got up and dusted herself off. She put a curse on Shana for her rudeness. "The Beauty that you see outside ugliness will now reside." The old lady brushed herself off and kept walking towards her home.

When she got back to her village, she stopped and saw Kimora sitting in the corner shaking and crying. It was a cold night and the air seemed to get a little colder as the night got darker. The old lady went up to Kimora and asked her for some money. Kimora lifted her head up and saw someone standing there. Kimora got a bag of money out that she found sitting in the palace and handed it to the old lady. "That's all I have, but you can have it." The old lady took the bag of money and gave it back to Kimora. Kimora was confused as to why she gave the money back.

"You can have the money, I really don't need it. My life is over anyway." The Old lady smiled and reached out her hand to Kimora. Kimora looked up at the old lady and took her hand. She helped Kimora to her feet and they went back to the elderly woman's village.

Inside the elderly woman's home...

When they got inside the house Kimora sat down in the chair and the old lady brought her some water. "Drink this my dear, I guarantee you that you will feel much better after tasting this." It really wasn't water; it was something to help heal the wounds on her body. "Why don't you lie down in that bed over there and rest." Kimora was in deep thought as to why this old lady was being so nice to her. Kimora went over to the bed and lied down but at least she didn't have to sleep outside. She had to escape the palace. She promised herself that she would never return. The old lady sat in a chair knitting something and watching over Kimora. Kimora felt some of the pain start to subside.

She was ready to go somewhere else to start a new life but then again her life was here.

Meanwhile....

Maya, Sarai, and Hasina woke up and saw that the bed Kimora was sleeping in was empty. They also saw that the clothes they brought for her are gone. They immediately got up and began searching around the palace for her. They couldn't begin to think of where she could have run off to. They worried about the fact that, if the Pharaoh found out they would all get in trouble because they were supposed to watch her and take care of her.

The Pharaoh was on his way upstairs to see if Kimora has waken up yet. When he got to the room and saw that no one is there, he left the room and ran around the palace to search for them. He sees Maya looking inside the rooms and he walks up to her. "Where is Kimora?" Maya hesitates and she backs away from the Pharaoh.

"I don't know where she is. When we woke up she was gone. I'm really sorry." The Pharaoh looks down the hall and sees a rope tied to the statue. He walks over there and Maya follows him.

They both look out the window and see a rope hanging down and the ladder up against the palace wall. The Pharaoh knows now that Kimora has escaped somewhere. "I have to find her." Maya sighs as she looks out the window at the dark sky. "I'll go tell the others, that Kimora left the palace." Maya slowly walks away to find her other friends and tell them. The Pharaoh returns to his throne. He doesn't send any troops to search for her because he knows that Kimora doesn't love him anymore. "Maybe, we were never meant to be, or maybe, love was never meant for me........."
