The Pharaoh's Rejuvenation_
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*~
“Ah! My dear friend Kaiba boy.” as Kaiba walked in Pegasus office, he found it a bit odd to see Pegasus again. “It's been nearly two years, surly you do miss me a little…right?” Pegasus chuckled.
“Enough! I've had it with you.” Kaiba growled as he stood face to face with Pegasus. Ignoring the impression, Pegasus smirked, “Oh, please, Kaiba, have a seat.” he pointed to the chair across from him.
“No, thanks, I'm sure my visit here is going to be quick.” he glimpsed at his watch.
“Well, I'm so happy you`ve come to visit me. I`m so very flattered.” Pegasus grinned.
“I'm going to just cut to the chase and ask you…Why the hell did you try to hack in my system!” Kaiba clutched his hand into a fist. “Third time you've screwed with my company. You're lucky I'm generous enough to let you go with a warning.” he shook his head, “but this time, I'm not going to let it go. You can spend the rest of your life in jail.” he smirked, than murmured, “Not that you even have a life.”
“Oh, Kaiba boy.” Pegasus took a sip of wine, “How can you be sure it's me? The war between you and me was over years ago!”
“I don't think so!” Kaiba walked around Pegasus like a wolf about to attack its prey, “I know your hacking style.”
Pegasus burst out laughing like a little boy being tickled until he told the truth, “Okay, Okay.” he continued, “I confess, I did hack into you're system.”
“That's all I needed to record.” Kaiba reached in his pocket and pulled out a mini high-tech silver recorder. He rewind it and hit the play button “Hahaha! Okay, Okay. I confess, I did hack into you're system.”
“Kaiba!” Pegasus paced towards him, “Don't you want to know why I hacked into your system?”
“You can explain that when we're in the courtroom.” he called back as he moved towards the door. He turned around to take one last look at Pegasus, “Checkmate.” he called out.
Just when Kaiba got near the door, the door automatically slammed shut leaving him locked inside the room with Pegasus, “What's this?” he demanded.
Pegasus grinned as he saw Kaiba trying to force the door open, “I'm not going to let you out. Not just yet.”
“Pegasus, you snake!”
“I apologize, but the reason why I did what I did was because I wanted to tell you something very important.”
Kaiba slammed his fist hard against the metal door, “Every heard of phone calling or E-mailing?”
“Indeed, I have heard of all those. You see, I wanted to see you personally.” Pegasus sat down on a comfy leather coach, “Kaiba, have a seat. This will take a while.”
“I don't have time for you're childish game.” he growled, “I know what you're trying to do.”
“Kaiba,” Pegasus turned serious for the first time today, “I'm not going to let you go. You know that. Sit down.”
Kaiba ambled to the chair and sat down, “I guess I don't have any other option, but to sit here and listen to you rambling on about whatever it is you like to talk about.”
Pegasus took another sip of wine, “Two years ago-”
“What the hell? Now you're giving me a history lesson? What's next science? Math?” Kaiba clutched his fist.
“Now, now, Kaiba boy. Listen.” he lifted his head up and stared at the ceiling, “Yes, I did hacked, but it was the only way to make you come and find me. And that we can meet personally. If I just e-mailed you or called you and ask for you to meet me in my fantasy island, I don't think you'll come. Instead, as always when I'm dealing with you, I had to do things the hard way.” he turned his head and looked Kaiba in the eyes.
“What?” he sighed, “hurry up.”
“Two years of thinking we've defeated evil.” Pegasus still had his eyes glued to Kaiba, “When everything was just the beginning.”
Kaiba rolled his eyes, “Why on earth are you telling this to me?”
“Kaiba, I have to tell you this because I think evil's targeting you first.”
“Is this a threat?” Kaiba stood up, “Listen to me, I don't have time for anymore of your silly games.”
“I found a soothsayer when I was walking down the dark alley one night--”
“There's a soothsayer and a dark alley in your island?” he asked feeling confuse, “if you're going to lie--”
“Yes, there is a dark alley in my island, but the soothsayer… I've never seen her before. I don't know how she even got into my island. She told me that the world is in great danger. I too laughed when she said that, but when she magically shot a vision in my head… I saw the pharaoh being reborn.”
Kaiba stared at Pegasus and at the wine glass Pegasus was holding, “Are you sure you weren't drunk at that time?” He chuckled, “I know why you're so weird now. It's because you walk around half drunk.”
“Say what you wish, but I know what I saw. I can assure you that I was not drunk at that time.” he leaned back on the chair, “The pharaoh has been reborn.”
“Rejuvenation? So, Yugi's yami is back? Only this time he's a little baby lost somewhere?” Kaiba laughed hectically. “You're so creative.”
“Not as a little baby! Reborn as in coming back anew.” he looked out his window so the view outside can soothe him, “As in coming back again. This time stronger.”
Kaiba closed his eyes to pretend he was sleeping the whole time, “Are you done yet?”
“Currently, isn't it your dream to defeat the pharaoh? I'm sure you're desperate, but are you desperate enough to go and find him.” Pegasus sighed, “Well?”
“He's no longer the king of games, Pegasus.” Kaiba smirked, “I witnessed him loose against that dimwitted Yugi.”
“Did I not mention him coming back stronger?” Pegasus began to play around with his hair, “What I saw was unbelievable!”
Kaiba nodded, “I'm sure you had a hell of a night. So, did you sleep with the soothsayer when she's done shooting vision at you. And woke up to notice how drunk you were?”
“Enough talking about me being drunk, cause I wasn't.” Pegasus thought for a moment, “This is insane, but according to the vision I had, the pharaoh has his own human body and he's lurking around somewhere in--”
Kaiba groaned, “So back to my question, are you done yet?”
“Listen, he looks the same--”
“If he has flesh and looks the same and he's wandering around somewhere, than shouldn't anyone notice him. He is quiet famous.” he murmured. “You know what I mean, right? It's just like when someone sees a celebrity out lurking around in the street.”
Pegasus nodded, “I know, except, he lives in a very small village nearby. Everyone there is too busy trying to make a living. They don't even have TVs there.” Pegasus got up and walked to Kaiba where he was sitting. Pegasus bent down on his knees and gave Kaiba a hug. “I'm scared for you.”
“What!? Hey, what's wrong with you?” Kaiba forced Pegasus off of him, “What the heck was all that?”
“I was just giving you a hug, Kaiba.” he stood up, “You need to find him…You need to find him now!” Pegasus pushed a red button on the wall and the door slowly opened.
Kaiba smirked, “I should have guessed it was that button,” Kaiba darted out of the room.
“Good-bye, my dear friend!” he called out as he saw Kaiba making his way out of the door.
Kaiba ignored him and kept on walking. As soon as he was out of the castle he darted towards his jet.
“Before I get on…” Kaiba reached his hand in his pocket and fumbled around so he could find his recorder. “What?” He checked his other pocket. “Damn!” couldn`t find the recorder in either pocket.
Remembering the scene when Pegasus hugged him chilled him to the bone, but at the same time angered him. “Pegasus must have taken it out of my pocket.”
“The story about the pharaoh's rejuvenation. He must have done that to cloud up my mind.” Kaiba shook his head. “That creep.”
*****************************
From the window, Pegasus stared down at Kaiba. He held the mini recorder in his hand, “I know what you're thinking Kaiba boy.” he chuckled to himself, “But you'll be surprise to know how true this story really is.” From there he closed the curtain of his window.
“Expect the unexpected.” he said to himself.
Pegasus winced when he felt a body being pressed closed against his back.
“Indeed.” the voice whispered.
