*bows* I'm sorry!!!
Bakura: What's her issue this time?
Atem: At this point, I don't pay attention unless she locks herself in the bathroom or her room.
Bakura: Why?
Atem: She may do something drastic. *gets hit by a pillow*
I'm not going to take my life for some stupid and pointless reason! I still got goals! I got a dream! And I have my family to think about!
Atem: Well, I guess I could stop worrying about you and worry about my beloved. In fact, I should call him.
Bakura: Why?
Atem: Just to hear his heavenly voice.
Bakura: That's dumb.
Oh come on, you do the same Kura-san. *dodges*
Bakura: DON'T EVER CALL ME BY THAT EVER AGAIN!!! ONLY MY RYOU COULD CALL ME BY THAT!!!
*cowers in fear* Y-Yes…
Atem: Would you keep it down?! I'm trying to talk to my angel!

Ch.17: Ka Hunting = New Trouble
The city in Egypt was busy and peaceful until a villager ran up and said. “A decree just came down from the palace! The priests are going to station troops in the city!”
“What?!!”
“They're searching for this thief called Bakura…”
“Bakura!? You mean the one the call `King of Thieves'?!”
“The one who plundered from the Pharaohs' tomb?! And killed over 100 soldiers?! He's in this city?!”
And that was all the people could talk about.
While back at the palace, Heba watched as Seth and Shada set out with a troop out of the palace gates. `Something isn't right…' She thought as she sensed another presence coming behind. “Hello Atem.” She said.
Atem, who was in deep thought until he heard his name. “Oh, hello Heba… What are you doing here?”
“Watching Seth-sama and Shada-sama go out of the palace gates with their men. And you?” She said as he blinked. “Surely you have a reason to be here.”
“Well, I was just thinking…”
“About?”
“Well…” He leaned against a pillar. “About this search…”
She nodded. “You don't think finding Bakura was on Seth-sama's mind, correct?”
“It is… but there's something about that that bothers me.”
“I know what you mean…” She said as she leaned against the wall. “I've been having strange feelings when Seth-sama said that he wants to station troops in the city.”
“Feelings?”
She nodded. “Ever since Mahado-sensei decided to go to the Valley of the Kings… I just felt a terrible aura coming to him.”
“To him?”
“Uh… If I were to describe it as… ribbons, I would say that there was a black ribbon that secretly tied itself on him, sealing his fate…”
“I see…” Atem said. “So, what `ribbon' did you sense towards Seth?”
She thought for a moment. “I would say… grey…”
“Grey?”
She nodded. “Because what he will do, doesn't link to this Bakura person, but… it would lead to something terrible. And it's slowly turning black and trying to tie itself.”
“That makes sense.” He said when curiosity came to mind. “Have you ever had something like this happen before?”
She thought about it then nodded. “Yes, I do believe so.”
He smiled. “So… How's Mana?” He asked, making her eyes grow wide.
“Oh my gosh! I completely forgot about our meeting!”
“Meeting?”
“Since Mahado-sensei isn't here, and I've become a high level in a short time, I have to over see her training.”
He nodded. “I'll walk with you.”
She smiled. “Thank you Atem, but I'm afraid we have to run, I'm in trouble as it is.”
He laughed. “Very well, I shall run with you.” Before she could say anything, he grabbed her by the hand and started to run. “Where are you two meeting?” He asked.
“In the sorcerer's study!” She replied as they turned the corner.
“I know where that is!” He said as they both nearly bumped into Isis and Kalim.
“Pharaoh?” Kalim said.
“I'll be with you in a minute!” He called to his two priests.
“Sorry!” She said to the two as they turned another corner.
“…He's active today…” Kalim said, a bit dumbstruck.
“He's hiding his pain.” Isis said making the male priest look at her, but already knew the answer.
“Here we are…” Atem said, taking huge amounts of air.
They stood in front of two huge doors.
“Thank you Atem.” She said.
“No problem, I needed to get my mind occupied with something.” He said, not expecting another peck on the cheek.
“When you feel like you want to talk, let me know… okay?” She said.
He looked at her with wide eyes. He opened his mouth to ask, but couldn't find the words.
“You have a really bright ribbon, Atem, but there's a dark blue ribbon that seems to be really tight on you and it's hurting you.”
He looked away and tried to make an attempt to move, but she grabbed his wrist before he could.
“Promise you'll talk to me when you're ready.” She said.
He looked at her, focusing on her like a newly discovered gem. He leaned down towards her and was about to place his lips on hers when a huge boom came from behind the doors.
“Mana!” Heba said as she quickly opened the door to be greeted by smoke. “Mana? Mana?! Are you alright?!”
“Y-Yeah!” Mana responded.
“What on earth were you doing?!”
“I'm trying to cast a spell!”
“I'll leave you two now.” He said.
“See you later?” Heba asked, making him nod before he walked away.
`What was I doing back there?' He thought as he remembered when he was really close to kiss her. `Must've been the moment.' He decided.
~Meanwhile: Outside the palace~
“Priest Shada…” Seth said. “If my hunch is right, then Bakura is alive.”
“You mean…?!” Shada said.
“I hate to say this… But Mahado died in vain. Not only that, he's made the situation even worse.”
“The Millennium Ring!!”
“If Bakura puts on the ring, then his evil will grow and he'll become something we can't handle, even with the Pharaoh's help. It could even mean the fall of the dynasty. Shada, do you realize why I've brought you, the palace judge, to the city?”
Shada listened.
“Your Millennium Key has the ability to search people's souls, and discover what ka they hide within them. The monsters and demons in their hearts. This is what I need you to do… among the commoners there must be some who have powerful ka within their souls… I want to find those with potential! I need you to use your key!”
“I could never! We are not allowed to look into the souls of the innocent!!”
“Then tell me this… Can you be certain that another like Bakura won't appear and threaten the country? If a nightmare like the attack on the palace were to happen again… would we priests be able to oppose them?”
`H-He's right…' Shada thought.
“We must root out all potential threats and revolutionaries. We do this to protect the Pharaoh!” Seth looked at the guards. “Let me down.”
“Yes sir!” They replied as he got off his seat.
“Lord Priest!” Said a villager.
“Why are there so many soldiers?” Said another when a guard said.
“Bow down all of you!!”
`Only force will bring peace to this world!!' Seth thought then said quietly. “A small sacrifice of the people, isn't even worth a pebble from the Valley of the Kings.”
~Sometime later~
The guards brought up a man that was suppose to be banished to the desert and forced him over to Seth and Shada.
“Priest Shada!” Seth said. “Search this man's ka!”
“Yes…” Shada replied when he brought up his item and thought. `Millennium Key! Show me this man's soul!' He saw what looked like a mummified clown with its face slightly slanted to the side. “As I suspected…” He said. “A demon. This man's ka has the power to create evil with the fall of darkness. It's not a high level monster, but if we leave it be, it could cause trouble again…”
“Take him to the oubliette beneath the palace!” Seth ordered. “Listen up! Don't limit yourselves to convicts! Take anyone who opposes you!!”
“Yes sir!” The guards said.
“Next!” Seth barked.
Shada looked around to see guards pushing people out of homes, stalls, and bystanders minding their own business. “Priest Seth! You understand, don't you? The Pharaoh would never permit us to do this!”
“Shada… We live in an age when a few rebels can shake the kingdom to its very foundations. These are the kind of people who could turn into the next Bakura! We must stop that at any cost!”
Then the man who held the demon started to speak. “You got all the power in the world! You can lock people up… you can torture `em… But someday the god will punish you… The White Dragon God.”
`White Dragon…?' Seth thought when the guards told the man as they push him around.
“That's enough! Shut your mouth or you'll never see the sun again!”
“Do your worst! I'm sick of the desert anyway!”
`A god…' Shada thought.
“Let's move on!” Seth said as he turned.
As they walked down, they heard a commotion and looked over to see a group of villagers, shouting and throwing rocks. When Seth made his presence known, the people bowed with respect. He looked to see a woman on the ground, covered in dust and scraps on her pale white skin and was soaked. “What did you do to this girl?” He asked, which got a hesitant response from the villagers. “Give her some water.” He told a guard who was right on it. The woman looked up at him with her deep blue eyes and he turned to look at the villagers. “You think you can throw stones at someone just because their skin is different? I'll cut the true meaning of a different status into your skin!!” He said making the people tremble.
“Th-Thank… you…” The woman said weakly.
“She's very weak, sir…” The guard said as Seth ordered.
“Attend to her wounds!!”
At that moment, Shada's key started to react.
“What's wrong, Shada?”
“Th-This woman's heka… is too much for the ankh to measure.”
`What?!!' Seth thought as Shada continued.
“And I see… in her soul… living inside her… a spirit ka of incredible power… in the form or a white dragon…”
`A White Dragon!!' Seth thought looking completely shocked. `Within this girl, resides a ka of awesome power… If I can use her ka, extract it from her, it will be strong enough to protect the kingdom!' He then said to the guards. “The woman is very weak, take her back to the palace and give her food and water!”
“Shall we put her in the prison with the others?” The guard asked.
“No…” He replied. “Give her a room in the palace, so that she can get plenty of rest. No one is to speak of this to the Pharaoh! We don't have the luxury to be merciful and lenient as in the past.”
With that, he, Shada, and some of the guards walked back to the palace while the other guards stationed in the city.
~Palace: Sorcerer's Study~
Heba looked as though she knows something and looked over her shoulder. `Something's going to happen…' She thought. `Something bad…'
“Heba?” Mana said, gaining the other girls attention.
Heba looked at her and just smiled. “I thought I saw a mouse. Nothing to worry.”
“Okay!” Mana said.
“I think that's enough practice for one day.”
“But I want to practice as much as possible!”
“I know, but even your magic needs to replenish itself, otherwise you're going to strain yourself.”
Mana sighed. “Okay…”
“In fact, I think you can practice on your own from now on.”
“Really?!” Mana asked, her eyes shining more than usual.
Heba nodded, which was responded with a tight hug.
“Oh thank you Heba! You don't know how much this means to me!”
“I can see it just fine.” Heba said with a slight laugh, but still had that nagging feeling, which made her worry.

Feeling sad and lonely
Cause I can't find you
Call your telephone
Ad there's never no answer
Said you love me
Kissed me
We were in heaven
Said I'm sorry
Love you, want you forever
Every night I look at the sky
Call your name
And wonder where you are
Every night I look at the sky
Baby, miss you
Won't you come back
