`Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you

My heart is crying for a stranger's name
Tonight I need to play a brand new game
I know I will find you
Just look around you

I feel tonight that all my dreams come true
You'll never give up thinking for me too
You are the light
In this dark night

While the night is passing by
I'm gonna make you fly
I want you to stay by my side

Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you

Have you ever thought that this could be
This feeling so strong between you and me
Just close your eyes
There is where love lies

I hope you are the hero of my dreams
Everything seems strange also for me
This can't be wrong
My vision of love'

Ch.40: Never Good-bye
~Ancient Egypt~
Yugi looked out at the clear night sky as a cool breeze came in. She took a deep breath as she looked out to the horizon. She thought back to what Atem said to her earlier today after the three hour meeting with the new priests.

^Flashback^
She leaned back on one of the pillars near the entrance of the throne room when it opened to reveal the new priests, who looked shocked and bowed.

“Afternoon, Lady Yugi!” They chorused.

“You may rise.” She said as they did. “I assume all is well for all of you, future priests of the Millennium.”

“Yes Lady Yugi.” They said, slightly relaxing.

She smiled and nodded. “And I can assume my Pharaoh has been fair with all of you as well.”

“Yes Lady Yugi.”

She smiled. “Welcome to the Palace, if you have not been greeted yet.”

“Thank you Lady Yugi!” They said, a bit more relaxed then they were.

“You may retire.” They did and she caught one conversation.

“I told you the Lady of the Light is just as kind as people say she is.”

“Yes, I bet the Pharaoh himself would bow to her, for she seems to brighten even his darkest hours.”

“Like that incident with the evil god.”

“It takes the powers of the gods to bring him down, and she definitely has that.”

She blushed. `If they only knew.' She thought as she walked into the throne room.

The two priests looked concerned before she came in, and changed to put on a fake smile.

“Hello, La-” Isis started.

“What have I told you?” Yugi said.

Isis giggled. “I'm sorry, Yugi.”

“Much better.”

Seth shook his head as he mentioned Isis to follow. “We'll see you in our next meeting later on.” He said to Atem, who nodded and dismissed them.

Yugi blinked, but shrugged it off and looked at Atem. “Seems you got a good group of new priests.”

“So you've met them.” Atem said with a smile.

“Yes, and I overheard one of them say that you would bow to me for brightening your day.”

“Really now.” He said with a laugh.

“Yes, but besides all that, you've sent Ito to tell me that you wished to speak to me?”

“Yes.” He said as he got up from his throne and held out his arm, which she hooked her's through and walked towards the gardens. “Yugi… there's something I have to tell you.” He was serious in a solemn way as he looked at her.

She looked up and listened.

“I… know how you could get home… to your own time.”

“Oh…”

“It's about a day's journey by boat, which is safer then on horseback.”

“What are you talking about?” She asked.

“There's a place somewhere deep in the Valley of the Kings. I'll be sending you a guide that will help you get there safely.”

She nodded.

“Tomorrow, before Ra reborns, I will send a guard to lead you to a port. From there you will wait until the guide comes up and tells the guard to return to the palace. At that time you can't speak to him until you reach the Valley of the Kings, understood?”

She nodded as she hugged his arm. “So, this is goodbye then?” She said as the other shook his head.

“No…” He said as he lifted her head up with his other hand. “It's never goodbye…” He brushed away a bang away from her face and leaned down to kiss her.
^End of Flashback^

She sighed as she laid in bed, but she couldn't sleep. She stared up at the ceiling and focused on her breathing. That's when a knock was heard on her door.

“Yugi!” Mana's voice was heard. “You still awake?”

“Yes! Come in!” She responded as the bouncy girl came in and jumped onto the bed.

“Is it true? You're going home tomorrow?” Mana asked.

Yugi nodded. “That's what Atem told me.” She said as the other looked like she was going to cry.

“I'll miss you.” Mana said.

Yugi hugged her. “I'll miss you too.”

Mana hugged back and let out all her tears.

Once the new young priestess calmed down, Yugi looked out into the balcony.

“Atem's meeting is sure taking a long time.”

“Yeah, it sure does. I haven't seen him since after he decided which priest should have which item.”

Yugi nodded, seeing the meeting herself.

“Yugi…”

“Yes?”

“Can I stay with you?”

She smiled and nodded.

Mana immediately jumped in and was under the covers. Yugi giggled as she settled under the covers as well.

“Sis…” Mana started to say.

Yugi made a sound to let the other know that she's listening.

“So you know, there's going to be a lot of changes when you're gone.”

She nodded. “As it should be, it's only natural that changes will occur.”

Mana nodded, looking a little relieved. “I'm glad to hear that.” Yugi giggled as she continued. “If I don't wake up when you leave, I just want to say to take care and don't forget.

Yugi smiled and hugged her. “And to you as well.”

Mana returned the hug when the door opened to reveal Isis.

“Mind if I join you?” She asked.

Yugi patted the bed and Isis walked up and laid down beside Yugi's right while Mana was on her left. “I'll miss all of you, but I won't forget.” She said as tears came down.

The two priestesses hugged her as they too cried until they finally settled to a deep slumber.

Seth was by the door and listening to it all and walked down the hall.

“Going to your successor.” Atem said, who was leaning against the wall opposite the door.

“Where else.” Seth said. “You should be ready… After all, the people will be shocked to hear about your departure.”

Atem only nodded as the other continued to walk down the dimly lit halls. He looked at the door and blew a kiss before walking to his room. `It's never goodbye…' He thought.

`If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be

And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me.

In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes

And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true

I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
all they'd leave us were these whispers in the night
But still my heart is saying we were right

Oh if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How precious life can be...
I've lived at last...

I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I thought our love would be so beautiful
We'd turn the darkness into light
And still my heart is saying we were right
we were right

And if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
Lost forever
If I never knew you
If I never knew you (oh)
If I never knew you'
