Part 2 of chapter 2

 

You walk towards your seat and on the way you see… Kabia! You've met him at a few business parties and when he gave you a job and house to live in. you always knew he was young, but didn't think he was THAT young. You smile shyly as you walk by and he gives you a slight nod. Then you continue your journey to your seat. You take a seat and say, “Hey Ryou, Thanks for being my guide!” Mrs. Ichigo interrupts and starts talking about Algebra 2.

After 1hr. of doing Math, class is finally over. The bell rang and you walk with Ryou out the hall. The blond haired boy and some other people also followed you.

“Hi Rika! I'm Yugi.” Says one of the boys. You gasp and saying, “Oh my god! You're that famous Yugi! That is so cool!” Yugi smiles shyly and says, “Well yeah…” A girl from the group smiles and said, “Hi! I'm Anzu! This is Jounichi and Honda!” She points to the blond boy as Jounichi and a brown haired boy as Honda. You look at Jounichi and say, “Hey, thanks for raising you hand to help me around! That was really nice.”

“Oh! I can help you ANYTIME…” he said with a ridiculous grin on his face.

“Oh, SHUT UP Jou! You're just helping her because you're such a HENTAI!” shouts Anzu. She then whacks Jounichi on the head.

“Ow! Anzu, what was that for?!” said Jounichi. The two went on bickering and you turned to Ryou.

“Hey Ryou, can you help me find this class?” You showed him you class schedule and he says, “Oh, that's also my next class! In fact you're in all my classes except for 3rd and 5th period!”

“Sweet!” you said. You followed him to your next class, Chemistry.

 

*~ ~TIME LAPSE - - Fourth period—Lunch~ ~*

It's lunch time. You hurriedly bought your lunch and enter the vast lunch room. You tried to find an empty seat near someone you know such as Ryou or maybe even Kaiba.

“Hey Rika! Over here!” you hear someone shouts. You look around, unable to find the source of the voice, until you spot Junichi waving franticly and Anzu smacking him on the head seconds later. You hurriedly walked towards to their table and took a seat at the end of the table next to Ryou.

“Hey” you said and smiled at the group.

“So… Rika, how do you like Japan so far?” asked Yugi.

“Oh… it's so cool!” you said, “Although, I get lost sometimes…”

“I can show you around,” said Honda (he finally said something)

“Don't listen to Honda, I can show you around!” said Jounichi. Anzu then got up, took two big textbooks and walked Jounichi and Honda on the head shouting, “BAKA HENTAIS!!” “O…..k…..” You start eating you lunch when Kaiba walks by.

“Oh… look, the geeks,” Kabia said.

“Watch it, rich boy!” Jounichi said in a threatening tone. Kabia then suddenly noticed you and said, “I need a word about your new assignment, Rika.” You nod and stand up, while Jounichi looks at you shocked. You follow Kaiba to an empty table and sit down.

“This Saturday at 2o'clock, I would like you to test my new virtual reality system. You can bring along a friend, since it's a multiplayer game. Meet me at my office on the 15th floor. Clear?” he said.

“Yes sir!” you said.

“Then I'll see you on Saturday.”

You walked back to your table and when you sits down Honda said, “You know Kaiba?!”

“Erm… Yeah, what's wrong with that?” you said.

“Uh… he's the biggest bastard in the world!!” Jounichi said while laughing bitterly. This gets you angry.

“WHAT?! Kaiba has been an enormous help to me! He gave me a home to live in and a job to support it! Without HIM I would be living in the streets or some run-down orphanage!! You have no right to judge him without first knowing him!!” you huffed and storm away, leaving your only friends, shocked, behind.

 

*~ ~TIME LAPSE - - End of school~ ~*

 

You were a lot less angry, then you were at lunch, but you still refused to talk to Jounichi. You waited outside the school, but your limo still didn't come. Tired of waiting, you decide to walk home. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!! You think as you walk, why did I have to lose my temper?! Now, I probably don't even have any friends. Ryou probably thinks I'm angry with him too! Stupid! You got so absorbed in thought, and weren't even paying attention to where you were going. You looked up and saw that you were in an unfamiliar place.

“OH CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!!” you said as you bang you head on a nearby pole. You sighed and started to backtrack, or at least tried to.

“Did I turn here?! No, left here! No wait, it was a right turn there? What? Where am I?!” you sobbed. Suddenly you hear something behind you and you turn…but there was no one there.

It's nothing…don't worry… You start walking, and heard footsteps again. You quickly turn and still no one there. You walk again, and the stalker follows. His footsteps are soft, like padded feet. Once in a while, you hear a swish, like he's wearing a piece of long clothing…

Suddenly, your pursuer stops. Surprised, you turn around to see… a strange man dressed in long white robes. He's wearing a turban on his head and wearing a strange key-shaped necklace. He starts to walk towards you, but you slowly back away.

Suddenly, you find yourself trapped against a wall.

Great…I just backed myself into an ally. The strange man was walking with in-human speed. So he reached you before you could move. He picked up his key-shaped pendent, that he was wearing…it looked…. familiar to you. It reminded you of the gold puzzle that Yugi was wearing… you were too absorbed by this fact you failed to notice that he had placed the key against you forehead. When the cold metal of the key touched your forehead, you jumped in surprised.

What's this psycho doing?! What are you doing?! Scream for help!! You were about to kick the man in his most painful spot, scream and run, but before you could, the man pressed the key I-N-T-O your head and turned it sharply.

You felt yourself suddenly jolted, like being in a car that just slammed on the breaks and with the seatbelt on. You looked around and you are standing in a hallway.

On one side, there's a brightly lit room with electronics, a bed and pictures on the wall. Only, in one corner, it is dark. No light can seem to puncture the corner. In it are pictures of silhouetted people.

You look to the other side of the hall and saw another room. The only difference is that the door was closed. There was a heavy lock on the door. Vines and moss was growing on the door and the wall. The door could only be described as ancient.

You approached the door with curiosity and touch the lock. Right when you touch it, the lock dissolves into a misty blue vapor. Surprised you quickly pull you hand away.

Whoa… What just happened? Hey…WHERE THE HECK AM I!?! Wait… that psycho guy with the key-thingy…maybe he took me here…but why??...Wait… what if he….AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Does he want to rape me?!?! WTF!! You start to panic. How do I get out of here? You look around and in the distance, you see the white-robed man.

“HOLY SH**!! STAY AWAY FROM ME, YOU HENTAI!!” you scream at him.

“What do you want with me? Where am I? Who the blazes are you?!” you demanded. The man only chuckles and shakes his head. Wha? Is that the “I'm going to rape you laugh” or “I'm not going to hurt you laugh? You did not notice him approach you. Again! Good Job. When you finally realize he's right in front of you, you jumped.

“GAHH!” you said. What are you doing? Kick him and run into the old door!! Your mind screams, but you were too scared to obey it.

“I am not going to hurt you.” The man said. You don't really believe him and he knows it.

“Alright, I'll answer your many questions. My name is Shaddi. I have taken you into your mind. The door across of you is your soul room. It reflects you mind and souls' desires, dreams, and personality. I have taken you here to test you. You see if you are the one of whom I think you are.” All that information took you a minute to process and analyze.

“How do I know your not lying?” you said skeptically.

“Did you not cause that lock to evaporate? Not many people can make locks do that.” He said.

“Oh, well that's true…” you said. You're still a little untrusting towards him, but your not going to kick him and run like before.

“Now, before I test you, you need to know this tale. Please sit, for it is long.” Shaddi said. Both of you sit down on the strangely warm floor. Considering that the walls of the hall were freezing and the air in the hall was just the right temperature…

“…And that is the tale I have to tell.” Shaddi concludes.

“…” You were speechless. You have a blank look on you face though. Suddenly you start to laugh.

“That was it? What a lame practical joke. Letting a poor guy like you…. To create illusions and tell me something… who hired you? Jounichi? Kaiba? Did they honestly think I would believe all this? Well I have to admit, I ALMOST believed you. You can take me back home now.” You said, continuing to chuckle.

Shaddi looked at you with his steely eyes and in a stern voice. He said, “I assure you, this is no “joke”. I suggest you take me seriously…” You stop laughing to say, “Yeah, yeah, sure.”

“Then if you think this is all a big joke, then step into that door.” he slowly pointed to the ancient door.

“Sure” you said. It must lead back into the ally, outside anyways… You grasp the handle of the door. Slowly you turn the knob and pushed the heavy door open. Inside, the floor was strangely illuminated. In fact, it sort of… glowed. Everything else was covered with a thick blanket of darkness. Hesitantly, you step inside. When you placed you foot on the floor, the floor ripples, like a stone dropped into a pond. You walk only a few paces until you're ready to turn around, but saw nothing.

The door was gone…
