Chapter 10

Seto recovered after a few days of staying in bed, and went back to school that following Monday.

It was Wednesday when Seto and Mokuba were walking up the stairs when Kira was waiting outside the apartment door; again her eyes were puffy and red.

"Whats wrong Auntie Kira" Mokuba immediately asked.

"Okay, boys, I don't know how to put this but we're being…evicted"

Seto gasped, how could this happen?! Simple, unpaid bills.

"Whats evicted?" Mokuba asked

Seto put a finger to his lips telling Mokuba to be quiet, Mokuba listened.

"Go in a get your stuff boys, were staying at a friend's place tonight." Kira said, her voice began cracking and tears running down her checks.

Instead of trying to comfort his aunt, Seto grabbed Mokuba by his hand and they ran into the house and grabbed there clothes, shoving them into duffle bags, and Seto grabbed his violin case and both boys rushed back outside.

"Seto…whats `evicted' mean, where are we going?" Mokuba whispered.

"It means were being kicked out of our own house, Mokie" Seto whispered back.

Mokuba gasped "…why?"

"I don't know" Seto said, he didn't wanna answer his brother's question right now.

"Yeah, Sankano, can we stay with you….yeah…we were evicted…oh…okay…thank you!" Kira smiled into the pay phone. She turned to look at her nephews, "Were gonna stay at my friend Sakano's place tonight, alright?" Kira asked.

Seto nodded his head.

"Its not far from here, we'll have to walk because I don't have any money for the train…sorry guys" Kira apologized

"That's alright Aunt Kira" Seto said, trying to comfort his aunt "I don't mind walking, Mokie doesn't either."

"You're a sweet kid Seto" Kira smiled sadly.

The walk wasn't too long, Seto didn't seem to mind much, and he could here Mokuba's mummers as he complained.

"My feet hurt…." was one of them.

"Shhhh….." Seto whispered to his little brother.

The came down a small dead-end street, all the houses were joined together, all grey, white or a brownish-red colour. The street laps were beginning to turn on a pieces of wood where scattered in the streets, probably left over junk form construction Seto guessed.

The came to one of the last houses on the street, it was small and grey.

"Okay kids, this is it" Kira sighed as they walked up to the steps.

Kira rang the door bell, and within seconds a woman with red hair appeared at the door.

"Oh Kira you're here! Are these your nephews?" She gasped

"Sure are Sankano, this is Seto, and the little on here is Mokuba" Kira said, Seto could tell she was on the verge of tears.

"Come in everyone, are you boys hungry?" Sankano asked.

Mokuba quickly nodded his head, but Seto shook his, he wasn't really that hungry and didn't feel like eating.

"Well you look hungry…." Sankano sighed

"He's been sick this past week" Kira said, taking Seto side.

"Ohh…." Sankano said

Sankano got Mokuba a glass of milk and a small bag of chips. Course, Mokuba was shy and didn't eat much, so instead of wasting food, Seto ate what Mokuba didn't finish.

"So you were hungry after all…" Sankano teased as she cleared the mess away.

"Boys, why don't you go outside? It's a nice day out, me and Kira wanna have a talk" Sankano said, hinting she wanted them outside.

Seto took the hints and he and Mokuba walked outside. The both sat on the stone steps outside. Seto just wish this all was a dream and Seto would wake up in HIS bed in HIS house with HIS father.

"I'm scared Nii-sama." Mokuba whimpered

"Why Mokie?"

"Cause something bad is gonna happen to us, I just know it" Mokuba said, tears welled up in his eyes.

"Nothing bad is gonna happen, promise, as long as I can stay with you, we'll be fine." Seto said, putting his arms around his brother.

"Thanks big brother, I hope you're right"
