Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Wheeler Mansion ❯ Family Un-fortune ( Prologue )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
A/N: Hey was'up? Thank you for selecting this story. You're so kind. This is my very first fanfiction. I wrote this about a year or two ago when Yu-Gi-Oh! was really popular. So its only a coincidence that I decide to submit it two days before Halloween. To be honest I'm a little skeptical about submitting my stories here. I not really the story writing type. So if you think it sucks, that's cool, as long as you tell my why its sucks. I would really like to improve my writing. Thank you and enjoy.
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-oh! If I did Yami would be black; Like a real Egyptian pharaoh was!
Chapter 1: Family Un-fortune
"This is so boring." Joey though as he let out a loud sigh. "I rather be dead then be in a place like this." Well, you have to be dead in a place where he was. Joey was in a funeral home. The place was quiet large, flowers placed in every corner. Relatives wearing black clothes, speaking to each other in small whispers. It was a really depressing scene. The weather outside only made it worse; a cloudy day made the funeral seem gloomier. Joey walked towards his sister, she was wearing a black dress (of course) with matching short inch heels, and her hair was put into a ponytail. Even though her dress was appropriate, she still looked good. Joey hated that. He didn't want her wearing anything that made her look even bit attractive. For obvious reason, he didn't want her to get any attention from guys (especially Tristin!).
"God! This is boring the hell outta me. Can we go already?" He spoke so loudly the whole room heard.
"Joey Sshhh!" Serenity whispered. "Not yet. You only have been here for 2 minutes! The funeral hasn't even started yet."
"So! 2 minutes is long enough, bye!" Joey turned around to make his way out the door.
"HOLD IT!" A voice called out. Joey stoped in his tracks. He knew who it was. The old hag, his momther. "You can't leave, it's your grandfather's funeral for God's shake." despite her anger towards her son she contained her voice to a whisper.
"I never even met the old geezer, so I honestly don't give a shit." Joey was about to leave, until Serenity grabed Joey's sleeve.
"Please big brother, just stay. For me." She gave him those famous "little sad girl" eyes. Joey all ways fell for for.
"Crap, She's do'in it again." He thought. He looked away, not wanting to look into her eyes again. "Don't look, don't look, don't look…Don't …Look…" He looked. "Oh, alright. I'll fuck'in stay."
"Thanks Joey." She said, "You're the best."
"Yeah, I know." He gloated. An question came into Joey's mind. "Hey! Why do you wanna stay? You never met the guy."
"Not true. Grandpa use to visit mom and me every Christmas. He was a nice and gently man…Plus he use to give me hundred dollars every time he saw me." That last part pretty much explains it all. When some old dude gives you tons of cash you can at least stop by his funeral.
About an hour later into the funeral, it was time to go up to the and pay your respects. Mostly all the relatives had already been up to the coffin. Now it was Joey's turn.
"Man." Joey thought. "That is one dead body alright…Ain't nothing I never seen before." Joey looked at his hand. "Cool he has a gold watch! Hey it's a Rolex!" He looked around to see if anyone was looking. Then when the coast was clear he slipped the Rolex off his wrist and slipped it into his pocket. Serenity walked up to him. "Hey Joey, do you want…" Joey spun around, surprised she was able to sneak up on him without him noticing.
"WHAT?! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" He blurted out.
"Joey I was just wondering if…"
"SERENITY BACK OFF! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, GOD!" Yelled.
"Joey I was wondering if you wanted anything to drink."
"Oh…I knew that." he said laughing nervously.
She looked at him suspiciously, than walked off to get her brother a cup of water. Joey let out a long sigh. Mean while Mrs. Wheeler was speaking to her father's lawyer. After she spoke to him. She quickly jolted to Joey and Serenity. She her face was lift up with excitement.
"Serenity, Joey, you want believe it." She said in a joyfully tone. "The old bastard actually left us something in his will! And to think I wasn't going to come his funeral."
"And I thought I was the demon in this family." Joey thought. Serenity, however, looked surprised.
"Any way…" She continued "We have to meet in the office to claim the fortune. So lets go." And so they did. When they arrived at the office, Joey and his mother realized that they wasn't the only ones waiting for a 'big pize'. Two other people were there. His aunt Lilly and cousin Rick.
"Hello there sis, it been ages." The middle age women got up to hug Joey's mom. "And this must be your daughter, Serenity. My, my, you sure have grown." She hugged her.
Then she looked at Joey. "And this must be Joey…I better watch my purse." She said coldly. Joey wanted to cures her out, but his mother gave a cold look that said: "Say one word, and so help you God." The lawyer came in and asks everyone to have a seat.
"Okay, lets get down to business, It's Sunday and the Jets are about to kick off." He took out the will and began to read it aloud.
"To my young daughter, Lilly Wheeler, I give you the private islands in the Bahamas, the private islands in Hawaii, and 55 million dollars." By this time Joey jaw was drooping. He never knew the old guy was loaded.
The lawyer continued. "To my grandson, Rick Wheeler, I give you the classic car collection, including the classic and new vipers."
By now Joey couldn't breath the suspense was killing him.
"To my oldest daughter, I give you my mansion.
Joey mom jumped out of her seat. "YES! YES! Jack pot baby!" Every one in the room started at her as if she was a complete nut case. Her cheeks blushed in embarrassment and she slowly sat back in her chair. "Please continue." she told the lawyer politely.
He cleared his throat "To my dear sweet Granddaughter Serenity, I give you a priceless blue diamond, golden necklace."
"Wow, grandma's neckless" Serenity acclaimed. "How generous of grandpa to.."
"Yeah, yeah the dead gramps is a nice guy. We all know." Joey interrupted "Now what about me?"
"And to my grandson Joey…" Joey gripped the rest on the chair, nearly tearing off the leather that covered it. "I give you…" He was ready to jump out of his seat and repeat the shout of joy just like his mom did.
"I give you a old pocket watch that is hardly worth a penny. That is all. Thank for coming."
Joey felt a cold chill run through is body. It felt like someone just ripped out his heart and crushed it right in front of him. Only three words came out of his month to express his feelings:
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
A/N: So...Wadda think? Okay I know it was a short chapter but the rest will be longer...well somewhat longer. Byes!
