Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Yami Virus ❯ To Be With You ( Chapter 11 )
Disclaimer: I don't own the book "Good Night, Gorilla" by Peggy Rathmann
Terra: Rhonda is forever going to be in Tris' hair.
Kanika: What Aten went through in the last chapter, that's what I went through. It was hard to put him through that. Robbie will never leave Aten's side. He's there for life.
Shadow of Light: Otogi will take care of the stain. Love is more than blind sometimes.
jupitor knight: Even if the yamis could do that, I don't think Barnes would face the reality.
Dragon Mistress: I would love to go to that store. I like the plain ones myself. Sorry about the misinfo. I knew dolphins could do that. Sorry.
thunderchaos: Eric and Rhonda will always be in their faces.
Crazy Kins: Aten is me as a kid. I went through more than what I portrayed here, though.
Broken Time: I hope your baby gets better.
star: there is a cure for the virus, Marik just has to find it. Yami wants Bakura to be his slave. His desire to control Bakura will never end.
Valea: Aria won't die. As far as the picture, I'm not sure if she'll tell Ryou. Poor Aten. I had it bad like Aten in that chappie. That's what my bullies always called me and said to me. So, it was kinda difficult to write that scene.
To Be With You
Panik returned to Diane at GeneTech. He grinned as he stood in front of her office.
"I have found the girl and I've been following her."
"Will she be hard to capture?"
Panik shook his head. "No, she should be simple to capture. I will, however, need a tranquilizer to properly sedate her."
"She's seven years old! Can't you just grab her?"
Panik shook his head. "An old….friend…of mine told me that this child has mystical powers. If she is sedated, she can't use her powers."
Diane lead Panik to a line of liquids in test tubes. She poured some green liquid into a test tube and placed a lid on it. "This is all you will need. When the child is nearly unconscious, make her drink it. It will knock her out and keep her weak."
Panik put the tube in his pocket. "How am I to get the drug into the child?"
Diane gave Panik a syringe. "Fill the syringe completely and inject what you can into the child. If you inject everything into her, that is fine, but she must have all of this in her system for it to work."
Panik grinned. "Yes, boss. Then when I bring the child here, I will get my money?"
Diane grinned. "You will see the money in your paycheck for next week."

Malik made Aten some chicken broth for him to drink. The chibi leaned against his mother reading a book called "Good Night, Gorilla."
Ryou brushed Aten's wet white and blond hair. After an entire day of sickness, Aten finally had the strength to at least lean against him.
Ryou was careful with the brush as he heard Bakura tossing in his bedroom. Aria was with him, stroking his hair and singing to him.
Aten reached over and took a sip of his chicken broth. In his arms, he cuddled his monkey plushie.
The little boy broke into laughter. "The silly money slipped into bed with the lady! Silly money! Beds aren't for moneys! They are for people. Right, mommy?"
Ryou chuckled. "Yes, dear."
"When I had a bad dream, I would run to my daddy and stay with him. My daddy always made the bad dreams go away."
Ryou grabbed the comb and removed some of the tangles from the hair.
Aten gave a tired yawn as he turned the page.
"Tired, sweetheart?"
Aten shook his head. "No, mommy…..I'm awake."
Marik came in to check on Aten. "How's my little monkey doing?"
Ryou chuckled. "He's falling asleep on me."
"Am not," the chibi yawned.
"How was your bath?"
Aten scratched his head. "It was fine. I stopped throwing up, though."
Ryou looked up. "How is Bakura?"
Marik sighed and sat on the bed. "He can't get comfortable. He's saying he wants to go out tonight. Now, why the hell he would want to go out in his condition is beyond me."
Ryou raised an eyebrow. "Bakura shouldn't go out tonight, Marik. You saw how he was this morning!"
"I know, but you can't keep Bakura tied down."
Ryou chuckled. "You want to make a bet on that, Marik?"
Marik rolled his eyes. "Very funny. Miranda's been rubbing off on you."
Ryou smiled. "You say that as if it is a bad thing."
Marik went to Ryou and kissed him on the lips. "Oh, trust me, Ryou, it's not."
Aten reached between his kissing father and mother casually for his cup of chicken broth. The little boy finished the chicken broth and yawned. He snuggled back into his mother, sighing into the kiss with Marik. Aten leaned over and kissed his monkey plushie.
Ryou stopped brushing Aten's hair as Marik's kisses trailed down the front of Ryou's neck.
Blond spiky hair fell in front of Aten's face.
"Daddy, I tant read my boot with your hair in the way."
Aten parted the spiky hair falling in front of his face and continued to read his book.
Marik pulled back from his kisses and stroked Ryou's cheek. He looked down at the son in Ryou's lap.
"We did a good job on him, Ryou."
Ryou looked down at their son on his lap. "Yes, we did."
Marik stroked Aten's hair. "My boy…."
Aten yawned and sighed.
"Aten, son, why don't you go to bed?"
Aten gave a little groan. "But, I'm not ti---."
Aten's eyes closed and a little snore was heard.
Ryou snickered. "Is he asleep already?"
Marik watched as the book in Aten's hands slowly fell. The father put his fingers to Aten's neck. His pulse was fine.
"He fell dead asleep."
Marik picked up the chibi and Ryou stood up. They arranged his pillows against a large gorilla stuffed animal and tucked Aten into bed. They tucked his toy monkey and his monkey plushie beside him.
Both parents kissed him on the forehead.
"Marik, you should have seen him. He was so sick this afternoon. I was so scared!"
Marik put his arms around Ryou's waist and kissed the back of Ryou's neck. "Let him sleep it off. Poor boy is probably exhausted."
Ryou and Marik left, quietly shutting the door. They went into Bakura's room where they found Aria rubbing Bakura's bare back with her hand.
"Yami, are you honestly thinking about going out there in your condition?"
Bakura sat up wincing as a bone snapped inside him. Bakura took Ryou's hand. "I have to go out, Ryou. I have to look into this virus. A yami should be immortal and immune to the diseases of mortals. I have to look into this."
Aria jumped off the bed and ran to Bakura. "Daddy, can I come, too? I'll be really good! You taught me how to sneak and steal! Nobody will catch me! I'm way better than Aten in sneaking! Please, Daddy?"
Bakura shook his head. "No, baby girl. You have to go to school tomorrow. Besides, this is very important and I don't want you to get caught."
Aria pouted. "I never get to go out with you and Daddy Marik! I want to go!"
Marik shook his head. "No, Aria. This is stuff only Daddy Bakura and I can do. We'll bring you someday."
Aria stamped her feet and whined. "But daddy…!!"
"No buts, Aria. You can't go this time."
Bakura had Ryou help him stand up.
"'Kura! You can't go in your condition! You can't even stand up on your own! How can you run? What if you get caught?"
Bakura straightened his back as another bone snapped. "Ouch. That hurt. Ryou, I'll be fine. Ishtar will be with me."
Ryou turned to Marik. "Marik, you can't let him go! Bakura isn't well!"
Marik shrugged. "I have never gone alone during something like this. Besides, Bakura wants to go."
Ryou gripped Bakura's arm and squeezed. "Please, yami….be careful."
Bakura kissed Ryou's cheek. "I will, my angel."
Bakura put a shirt on and hid his sheathed dagger under it. He kissed Aria goodbye and left.
Aria watched her father and Marik leave with a cough. Aria used the banister to steady herself as the room started to spin around her.
"Aria? What's wrong?"
Aria shook her head. "Nothing."
**********************
Bakura and Marik drove the car to a block away from the Domino Museum. Marik grabbed the Millennium Rod and held it at his side.
Bakura tucked the Millennium Ring under his shirt to reduce the sound it made when he ran.
They approached the entrance to the Museum and looked up at the cameras.
"That's new. They didn't have that before," Marik said.
Bakura snickered. "They must have been tired of seeing us sneaking in and making love on every piece of furniture in there."
Marik grinned. "Where were we the last time?"
Bakura shrugged. "Weren't we in that room with the sixteenth century furniture?"
Marik drooled. "The velvet room…..I have to say that the velvet couch was the most comfortable piece of furniture on which I have ever had the pleasure of being screwed senseless."
"Screwed senseless??? I was pounding you so bad you were a one-man opera!"
Marik wiped the corners of his mouth. "Well, we may be able to sample the Medieval Dungeon Room before we leave."
Bakura licked his lips. "Maybe. Let's focus on getting to the Egyptian Archives."
Marik pulled out the Millennium Rod and pointed it at the cameras. "Let them not see!" The Rod glowed and the cameras disappeared.
Bakura stepped out of the bushes and rushed into the shadows. "Ring, allow us entrance into this place!"
The Ring glowed and the lock snapped.
Bakura opened the door cautiously. He looked around and slipped into the shadows once again.
"The guard is always gone at this time. Some mortals are so predictable!"
Marik snickered. "Al's probably going to get his coffee. Dear Ra, he's as bad as Tristan!"
Bakura shook his head. "No one is as bad as Caffeine-Boy. Let's go before Al comes back."
Bakura lead Marik down the hallway. The white-haired yami stopped when he heard footsteps.
They ran behind a statue until the guard passed with his flashlight.
Bakura snickered and the two yamis sneaked down the hallway. Marik looked up. He grabbed Bakura's shirt and pulled him back.
"Security camera! Didn't you see that?"
Bakura looked around. "What?"
"Security camera!"
Marik looked around the corner and gripped the Rod. "Let us pass."
The camera's light turned off.
"Let's go, Bakura."
"Where are you? I can hardly see you!"
Marik grabbed Bakura. "I'm right here. What are you, blind?"
Bakura growled. "Look. Cut me some slack! I can see, but it's difficult! Don't be such a dick about it!"
Marik's jaw dropped. "Bakura, are you okay?"
"Yeah, let's do what we have to do and leave."
Marik followed his partner through the dark halls of the museum. The Egyptian Wing was complete with an archives of ancient Egyptian texts and scrolls.
Bakura turned on a small desk light and sighed. "Much better."
Marik shut the door and looked at the rows of literature. "Where do we start?"
Bakura opened a scroll. "It must be an ancient text since Shadow Magic is a very old concept. Look for texts that you might recognize from your life."
Marik sat on the floor and opened each scroll on the bottom of the shelving. "I remember reading this one! It was a text on social class, though. My father made me read it."
Bakura opened up one of the scrolls and looked at it curiously. "I can't read as well as you, Ishtar."
"Look for something that mentions 'spirit.' Do you know what that looks like?"
Bakura scanned the scroll. "I do."
Marik read the scrolls fast as he heard footsteps coming. "Itemri! Hide!"
Marik pulled Bakura under the table as a security guard walked into the room. Bakura clenched his fists as a searing pain spread through his body again. Marik covered his mouth to muffle his cries.
"Itemri, don't do this now…"
Bakura's chest started heaving as Marik held onto him. The guard's flashlight slowly scanned the room. Marik held one hand to Bakura's chest and felt the steady heartbeat start to flutter.
Marik raised an eyebrow as he felt Bakura's pulse become unsteady like his son's.
The guard finally left the room, locking it behind him.
Marik sighed in relief. "Itemri, you okay?"
Bakura relaxed in Marik's arms. He nodded. "Yes….it's a good thing you covered my mouth. Damn, that hurts!"
"Let's find the scroll we need."
Marik and Bakura crawled from under the table and continued to sift through the scrolls.
Bakura gasped. "I found it, Ishtar! I found it! You'll have to read it."
Marik brought the scroll under the light. Marik narrowed his eyes as he read:
"Spirits of The Millennium Items, immortal cannot be
These Immortal spirits far from sanctity
Immortal spirits, wise and sage
Fall victim to the ravages of age
Dust to Dust
Ash to Ash
Immortal spirits decay and crumble
Their mortal counterparts fall and tumble
Without their shadowed halves the mortals fall
Then the Barbed-Wire Demon may win all."
Marik raised an eyebrow. "'Barbed-Wire Demon?' Steven? We killed him, didn't we? He died in the temple! Hell, if it wasn't the Shadow Realm and we were already dead, then we'd be dead for sure….again."
Bakura turned. "You're right."
"I know I'm right."
"NO! I mean, you are right! It WAS the Shadow Realm! We ARE dead! Steven is dead, too! We didn't die, so maybe that means he didn't die either!"
Marik shook his head and ran his fingers through his spiky hair. "Are you saying Steven survived that blast by the Nightmare Dragon?! Chraa!" (Arabic curse for "Shit").
Bakura opened the scroll more. "There's more!"
Marik narrowed his eyes as he read more of the scroll:
"Spirits immortal shall bear two seed
Whose conditions worsen to great need
When this illness strikes their immortal sires,
Their condition shall also weaken to flaming pyres.
Half immortal, half dark as pitch
Half mortal, their light is rich
Both immortal and mortal lay side-by-side
Both immortal and mortal lay until the last one die."
Marik and Bakura stared at the scroll, their mouths open wide. Bakura's trembling hand slowly moved to cover Marik's. "By Ra's hand, Ishtar…….is this scroll…accurate? Maybe you read it wrong."
Marik scannedwhat he read again and shook his head. "No, Itemri. My translation was right."
Bakura wrapped his arms around Marik's waist. "Marik…."
Marik turned and looked into the brown eyes looking up at him. "Bakura…" Marik wrapped his arms around Bakura's shoulders. "By the gods….what shall we do?"
Bakura clutched onto Marik's shirt desperately. The white-haired yami remained silent as he rest his head against his former lover's chest. The blond yami resting his cheek on the spiky tuft of white hair below him.
"Remember Mr. Motou's funeral rites? 'Ashes to ashes...Dust to dust?'"
Bakura nodded. "Do you think…we're really going to turn to dust? Are we really going to die, Ishtar?"
Marik stroked Bakura's cheek gently. "We're already dead, Bakura. What death can be worse than being stabbed in the back? It's the only death I've ever known."
Marik held Bakura and noticed the white-haired yami quivering. "Don't worry. Ana bahebek, Itemri," Marik whispered. ('Ana bahebek' is "I love you" to a man in Arabic) "Are you in pain, Bakura?"
Bakura shook his head. "No. I never thought I would suffer another death. My death was something I would not want to relive. I don't want to die a violent death I didn't deserve." Bakura looked up into Marik's purple eyes. He reached up and cupped Marik's face in his hands. "At least….At least I get to be with you this time, Ishtar. I don't think I could die without you by my side again."
Marik leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on Bakura's lips. A tear ran down both of their faces as they held each other close. Marik allowed Bakura entrance between his lips. Bakura's tongue curled around Marik's, caressing Marik's inner cavern as a choked sob left his throat.
Marik held Bakura closer. Their tears mixed together as they deepened the kiss.
Bakura pulled back. "Ishtar….I need you."
Marik gave a worried look. "Itemri, will you be okay? I know you haven't been feeling well."
Bakura's eyes pleaded. "Please, Ishtar….We never denied each other. I really need you to make love to me."
Marik looked around and brushed Bakura's hair back with a wicked little grin. "Well, we never made love in the Archive Room before."
Bakura kneeled in front of Marik. "Ishtar," Bakura said bowing before Marik, his forehead touching the ground submissively. "Please make love to me."
Marik kneeled in front of Bakura and brushed Bakura's hair to the side of his neck.
The blond yami leaned over and kissed the back of Bakura's neck.
"I could never deny you, Itemri. I never would."
