Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Yami Virus ❯ Take Me Home ( Chapter 29 )
Shadow of Light: I already signed that petition long ago. I know there's a few up and running. Aria would have stepped in if it got rough.
Valea: The chibis will make Ryou feel better. They always do. I wrote a tickle scene for chappie 32.
Broken Time: Yami is draining Yugi's lifeforce. Yugi has gray hair now.
I Is Me: Aria always seems to get in the way sometimes, but her commentary was too funny.
Lady Elfskye: Baura wanders to a familiar person's house.
Take Me Home
Bakura stepped in front of his house and turned left. "Rayna…must find Rayna."
Bakura wandered left, his eyes looking up at the moon and the stars. "Rayna must be waiting for me….it's late."
Bakura stopped in front of Miranda's house and looked up. "The Brothel….Rayna has to be in there!"
Bakura went to the garden and picked up a small stone. He threw it and it hit against the window frame.
Miranda opened her eyes. She had always been a light sleeper since Robbie was born. With Daniel away in the Navy and Robbie ill afte his birth, she learned to sleep light.
"Rayna," she heard someone call from outside. She heard a tapping against the windowframe.
Miranda jumped out of bed and ran to the window. She saw Bakura in his boxers standing on the lawn. "Rayna! Come to me, my darling!"
Miranda opened the window. "Bakura? What are you doing here? It's two in the morning."
Bakura reached his arms up. "Rayna! I love you!"
Miranda turned and saw Daniel snore. "Bakura, stay there!"
Miranda ran out of the room and down the stairs. She opened the door and Bakura fell to his knees in front of her.
He buried his face in her pregnant belly. "I have found you, Rayna! My angel….My darling…I've missed you! I've been searching five thousand years to look upon your beautiful face once more!"
Miranda blushed. "Bakura…don't wake up Robbie!"
"Robbie?"
Miranda nodded. "My son."
Bakura's eyes went sad. "You've had another child by the High Priest Seth? Is this child a girl like our daughter?"
"High Priest? Daughter? I'm having a boy, Bakura. Bakura, what are you….?" Miranda remembered Ryou discussing Bakura's strange behavior. Marik mentioned Bakura had Alzheimer's and wandered. This must be one of his episodes. "Oh….umm….yeah? I guess."
Bakura looked straight ahead at her belly. "Any child whom comes out of your womb will be just as beautiful as you are, my love."
Miranda felt a shiver run up her as Bakura kissed her pregnant belly through her white pajamas. "Bakura, let me take you home."
Bakura stood up and looked into Miranda's blue eyes. "Don't you want me to stay?"
Miranda brushed her long hair behind her shoulders. "Bakura, I have a child and my husband is upstairs in my bed!"
Bakura took Miranda's hand. "But, how long has it been since we made love by the moonlight? How long has it been since I caressed
your skin and told you what a goddess you are?"
Miranda backed away. "Bakura…I really think I need to take you home."
"My love…has Seth been good to you?"
"Seth? I don't know a Seth."
Bakura laughed. "The High Priest. Is he good to you?"
"Umm…yes? Do you mean Seto? He's good to me. He invites Robbie and I over for Christmas every year."
Bakura hung his head low and kneeled before her again. "I'm glad, Rayna. You deserve a prince. You don't deserve me…a common thief…a wretched, doomed murderer."
Miranda kneeled down. "Bakura, please, let me take you home. You look tired."
"Marik….where's Marik?"
Miranda stood up. "I'll take you to Marik, Bakura."
Miranda took Bakura's hand and Robbie limped down the stairs. "Mommy?"
"Robbie? Go back to bed, angel."
He rubbed his tired eyes. "What is one of Aten's daddies doing here?"
Bakura looked down at Robbie. "This is….Seth's child?"
Miranda held Bakura's hand tightly. "Robbie, baby, go back upstairs and go to bed."
"I want a glass of milk."
"There's a glass on the table, sweetheart. Mommy will be right back."
Miranda closed the door as Bakura's body gave sudden twitches.
"The High Priest's son….is…..beautiful…like…you."
"Thank you, Bakura. Let's take you home to Marik."
Miranda turned the doorknob and opened it. She walked Bakura upstairs where she heard Marik and Malik's voices raised in ecstasy.
Ryou slept peacefully in his bed until Bakura let out a cry. "ISHTAR!"
Ryou screamed as he jumped.
Marik returned the scream and ran out of his bedroom naked, unaware that Miranda was standing there.
Marik cried out, darting back into the room as Miranda gasped in shock seeing him naked.
Ryou jumped up and wrapped the sheet around his hips. "Miranda?! What are you doing here??"
Miranda was speechless as her attention was focused on Marik's bedroom door.
"Miranda?"
Miranda turned. "Oh…sorry. I found Bakura wandering. He wandered onto my lawn and I brought him back."
Ryou ran to Bakura. "Baby, are you hurt?"
Marik emerged from the bedroom with his boxers on…sporting a blush that would have made Seto proud. "Miranda?!"
Bakura wrapped his arms around Marik. "I found Rayna!"
"But, Isis told us that Ryou is Rayna. Miranda isn't….."
Marik looked up at Miranda and saw her pregnant belly. "Amunet?"
Malik ran out of his bedroom also with boxers on him. Marik walked to Miranda.
"Amunet? Is…is that you?" Marik raised his hands slowly to caress her cheek.
Miranda felt herself melt at the feeling of Marik's gentle touch.
Bakura fell to his knees, kissing Miranda's belly. Marik's eyes seeped tears of joy.
"Amunet, my love…..how…how could you be here?"
Ryou and Malik exchanged worried glances. This was not going to be good…two yamis…both locked in memories of their past lives…and a pregnant Miranda.
Miranda closed her eyes as both yamis started rubbing her belly. "No…I have to go. Ryou, Malik, can you take your husbands? I just wanted to return Bakura to you."
"Thank you, Miranda."
Malik held Marik's hand.
"AMUNET! DON'T GO!"
Ryou took Bakura's hand.
"RAYNA!"
Miranda ran down the steps, trying to brush off the feeling that she was excited by both men touching her belly.
Malik held Marik, who started to sob wildly. "Amunet….I've waited five thousand years to see her again…..and I lost her….again."
Ryou helped Bakura to bed.
"She's gone."
Ryou gathered Bakura to his chest. "Don't cry, yami."
Bakura cried himself to sleep in Ryou's arms.
********************************
Ryou was up early. He couldn't sleep. Every time he wandered off to sleep, he kept thinking that Bakura had wandered away from him. Malik staggered into the kitchen and made himself a pot of coffee. "All night….Marik was crying about Amunet all night."
"I wonder why Marik is having hallucinations about his wife back in Egypt."
Malik shrugged. "Bakura is having hallucinations, too. I just hope that Marik isn't coming down with Alzheimer's. I don't know how much more I can take."
Ryou sipped his hot tea. "I don't know. All I know is that I have to make this house as safe as possible for my children."
"How's your jaw?"
"Hurts."
Malik walked over to Ryou and kissed the jaw gently.
Ryou turned and looked up at Malik. "Please kiss me again, Malik. Please?"
Malik leaned down and kissed Ryou on the forehead. He brought his tan hands up to bury themselves deeply into Ryou's smooth white hair.
Ryou turned in his chair to face Malik and ran his hands up the back of his shirt. Malik pulled back. "Ryou…."
"Malik, I've missed being kissed like that."
Malik nodded. "So do I."
Malik made his cup of coffee and Marik staggered down the stairs.
"Good Morning, Marik," Ryou said to him.
"Good morning, Ryou," he responded.
Malik bit his lip. "Do you remember Miranda coming over last night?"
Marik blushed red and snickered. "I can't believe she saw me naked! GO ME!"
Ryou rolled his eyes. That was their Marik. "Do you remember Amunet?"
Marik poured himself a coffee. "Ryou, Amunet died five thousand years ago."
"But, Marik, you called Miranda 'Amunet' last night."
Marik raised an eyebrow. "I did? Weird. I don't remember that."
Malik and Ryou exchanged worried glances again.
"How's Bakura?"
Ryou sighed. "Still sleeping."
The phone rang and Marik answered it. "Ishtar-Itemri residence. What do you want?"
[Haven't you learned how to answer the phone, Marik?]
"Hi, moneybags. Haven't you learned how to smile yet?"
[Is Ryou there?]
Marik gave the phone to Ryou. "It's Seto."
Ryou grabbed the phone. "Seto?"
[How's Bakura?]
"He wandered off last night. He went to Miranda's and thought she was Rayna, his old girlfriend back in Egypt."
[He wandered out of the house in the middle of the night? Was he hurt?]
"No, thank the gods."
[I know Marik and Bakura have been doing some research on the virus. What have they found? Anything?]
"They found a way to delay the rapid aging process."
[How?]
"The yamis have to take part of our lifeforce. The more they take, the more that us hikaris will age. We will age while they will appear to be young."
[But it doesn't cure the virus?]
"No. It just delays the appearance of aging."
[But, they would only be able to take so much energy from you, right?]
Ryou nodded. "Yeah. If they take too much, it can be fatal. Malik and I could die if our yamis take too much."
[Ryou…] Seto's voice flooded with concern. [I don't want you to die on me.]
"Bakura couldn't take any energy from me anyway if he tried. He doesn't remember Aria and he doesn't recognize me anymore."
[He's that bad?]
Ryou nodded again slowly. "Yes."
[I'm sorry about not being able to take the kids last night, Ryou. I've had…an incident here.]
Ryou gasped. "Oh my gods! Is Joey back on the bottle?"
[No…I keep a good eye on him with his alcohol addiction. Ryou….this isn't easy for me to say…especially over the phone. Can you please come over today?] Seto's voice began to crack. [I really, really need to speak to you….in private.]
"Okay, Seto. We can come over. I have to pick up the kids from Tristan's apartment."
[I don't know why he's still there. Everytime I go see him, I get watched like I'm some kind of freak. But, I really need to see you alone…..in my bedroom.]
Ryou nodded. "It's okay, Seto," Ryou said calmly. "I'll be there as soon as I get Bakura bathed and dressed. I'll try to get the kids as early as I can."
[Thank you….Ryou. I really need you…badly.]
Ryou felt a shudder at Seto's revelation. Seto had always been there when he needed him. And he, vice versa, was always there for Seto. When Seto needed emotional support, Ryou was always there. There were some things he couldn't talk to Joey about.
But when Seto "needed" him, Seto was on the verge of tears.
"I understand, Seto. I'll be there as soon as I can."
[Thank you, Ryou.]
"Go get some breakfast, Seto. It's early. Take a nice hot bath. Take care of yourself, okay, my Blue Eyes?"
[Okay. Bye, Ryou.]
Ryou hung up the phone. He looked over at Malik and Marik. "Seto needs me."
Malik shook his head. "That's never good news."
*******************************
Yami walked down the stairs as Yugi was in the kitchen making oatmeal for breakfast. On the table laid Yugi's deck.
"Who are you going to duel?"
Yugi scraped some apples and cinnamon oatmeal into his bowl "I was planning on visiting Ryou today. I thought we might have a duel with our new duel disks."
"Why HIM?"
Yugi poured himself some apple juice and sat at the table. "Because I wanted to go over and visit him, Yami! He's my friend! Besides, I want to see the kids. You know Aten has heart failure, you know. Aten's going to die. I want to spend as much time with him as I can."
Yami's lip curled. "Then, good riddance!" Yami said as he sat at the table.
"Yami, it's not Aten's fault! Besides, you can stay home if you want! I don't need you around me all the time!"
Yami stood up quickly from the table, a low growl rumbling in his throat. Yugi jumped, dropping the bowl of oatmeal and breaking his glass on the floor.
"Sorry, Yami! I'm sorry!"
Yami approached Yugi slowly, backing him into the refrigerator. "Who do you think you are talking to a pharaoh that way? What makes you so special, Yugi Motou?" Yami's voice didn't raise above a whisper.
Yugi shivered as he looked up at his Yami. "Sorry, Yami…I…didn't mean it."
Yami cracked his knuckles. "You better not have, hikari."
Yugi shook his head. "No…I didn't, Yami."
"Good. Tonight, you will repay me for your insolence!"
Yugi shook his head. "I'm not sleeping with you, Yami."
"Why not? You haven't given yourself to me in months!" Yami's eyes glowed an angry red.
Yugi swallowed hard. "I…I don't want to."
"Ridiculous! You WILL give yourself to me tonight…even if I have to take it from you."
Yugi shuddered. He couldn't stay with Yami tonight. He had to go somewhere.
Ryou? Ryou had the kids and two sick yamis in the house. He couldn't ask Ryou for Sanctuary.
Anzu? He would rather chew off his own leg.
Tristan and Otogi? Tristan may be built like a brick house, but could he stand up against Yami's fury? Probably not. It would only be Tristan vs. Yami. Otogi would probably scream in a high-pitched voice and stand frozen. Otogi was not a fighter.
Seto? Seto had security guards and was well-versed in martial arts.
Seto was his best and only chance.
"Yami, let's go to KaibaCorp. We haven't seen Joey in a long time. I really miss him."
"Why do you waste your time with that mutt?"
"Joey's our friend! He helped us in Duelist Kingdom and Battle City! He helped us defeat Marik!"
Yami laughed. "He fainted on us. He didn't help us at all."
Yugi clenched his fists. "Believe what you want! But, I want to see Joey and Seto!"
"FINE! But I'm coming with you!" Yami grumbled as he left.
Yugi cleaned up the oatmeal and organized his deck. "I have to bring my deck. I don't care if I leave with only the clothes on my back. Only my dueling deck matters."
Yugi ran to the phone. "Hello, Ryou?"
[Yes! Hi, Yugi! Bakura, stop splashing me, baby.]
"Ryou, what are you going to do today?"
[I'm bathing Bakura now and then I have to dress him. I'm grabbing the kids and going over to Seto's place. Seto sounded really upset and he needs me.]
"Oh. I was planning on going over there. I'm bringing my duel disk and my deck. Do you want to duel?"
Ryou squealed. [Great Idea! I really need a break! I'll bring the kids' decks and their duel disks, too.]
Yugi smiled. "Sounds great! It'll be just like old times!"
[Yeah! I'll meet you there! Bye!]
Yugi smiled, excited with the prospect of dueling his friend.
**************************
Malik pulled up in front of KaibaCorp. Marik and Ryou unbuckled the kids from their seats. Ryou grabbed his duel disk and his deck.
Bakura and Marik looked up at KaibaCorp.
Marik blinked and saw the Temple of Isis in front of him. "The High Priest's temple!"
Malik took Marik's hand. "No, this is KaibaCorp, yami."
Marik shook his head. "KaibaCorp…looks just like the Temple of Isis back in Egypt."
Malik looked up. "I didn't leave Yami's tomb much when I was a child. I don't know what it looks like."
Bakura kneeled on the concrete. "Sacred ground."
Aten leaned down. "Daddy Bakura? Why are you on the ground?"
Ryou tugged gently on Bakura. "Let's go into the…temple, Bakura."
Bakura stood up and walked beside his hikari.
"Why do you have your duel disk, mommy?"
"Uncle Yugi and I are going to duel."
Aten and Aria squealed happily. "Yeah! Mommy's going to duel!"
"GO MOMMY!" Aten cried out.
Ryou and the family entered KaibaCorp. "Hello, Floyd! Is Seto upstairs or in a meeting?"
Floyd looked up. "Hi, Ryou. He's upstairs waiting for you."
********************
Seto knocked on the spare bedroom's door. Jaimen came running out, wrapping his arms around Seto's waist tightly. They had taken Jaimen out that morning for a quick shopping spree. Jaimen picked out a white shirt and black pants….so he could look like his daddy. Jaimen was able to pick up one quick toy. Seto had promised to take him out later for more shopping.
Jaimen wrapped his arms around Seto, his ice-blue chibi eyes looking up at his father. "See, daddy? I look like you!"
The CEO looked at his son….a perfect copy of himself. Jaimen looked like Seto when he was nine….and the fact he dressed like Seto, made the realization hit him again that Jaimen was his son….a son conceived out of his pain.
"Do I look good, daddy?"
"You do, son. I have some friends coming over. They have kids, too. Aten and Aria are eight."
Jaimen's smile disappeared. "Oh…okay. I'll go into my room. Do you have the key to the room?"
Seto raised an eyebrow. "Don't you want to meet my friends?"
"Aren't you going to lock me in my room? My mommy always locked me in my room when she had friends over."
Seto's heart sank. "You can stay in your room if you want, Jaimen, but I really want you to meet my friends."
Jaimen's jaw dropped. "You aren't…..going to lock me in my room?"
"No."
"Or tie me to the bed?"
"Definitely not."
"Or…"
"Son, I will never do that to you," Seto said, kneeling down to the child. "I love you. I would rather chop off my arm than tie you to your bed or lock you in your room. I love you…..Jaimen."
Jaimen's eyes went teary and he threw himself at Kaiba. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I don't want to be locked in my room anymore! Please……"
"You don't have to worry about me behaving like your mother. I would never do that."
Jaimen rubbed his eyes. "You want me to meet your friends?"
Seto nodded. "My friends mean a lot to me, Jaimen. I really want you to get to know them."
Jaimen smiled. "Thank you, daddy. Hey, daddy? Guess what?"
"What is it, son?"
Jaimen leaned up to Seto. "I love you, daddy."
Jaimen planted a gentle kiss on Seto's chin. Seto could swear he heard a loud crash....his heart had just shattered into a million pieces.
Seto looked down at the chibi, speechless.
"Do you love me, daddy?"
Seto's bottom lip trembled. "Come here, Jaimen." The CEO brought the chibi into his arms. "I do love you. How could I not?"
Jaimen smiled. Seto stood up and took Jaimen's hand, waiting in the hallway for his friends' arrival.
***********************
Seto was waiting in the hallway with a child by his side. Ryou saw the look on Seto's face. 'To say he 'needs' me is an understatement.'
Ryou and the family approached. Bakura fell to his knees in front of Seto and lowered his head.
"My High Priest….."
Seto raised an eyebrow. "Bakura?"
"Thank you for looking over Rayna…I owe you, my Lord."
"Bakura, stand up."
Bakura stood up. Seto saw the glazed look in Bakura's eye.
Aria and Aten looked at the child beside Seto, who looked like his twin…brown hair and icy-blue eyes.
"Who are you?" Aria asked. "You look like Unkie Seto."
Seto put his hand on Jaimen's shoulder. "This is my son, Jaimen."
The family fell silent. Aten and Aria's jaws dropped.
Marik scratched his head. 'I thought the idea of being with a woman sickened him. How's this possible?'
Malik looked at the chibi and heard his yami's comment. 'Did he adopt again?'
Ryou looked up at Seto and back down at the child. 'Seto gets physically sick when Miranda even speaks to him. How could….?'
Ryou looked down at Jaimen. "Hello, Jaimen. My name is Ryou Thomas Bakura-Itemri. This is my husband, Bakura Osiris Itemri. These are my children. Aria Kanika Itemri. Aten Bakari Ishtar."
"Hello," Aria said.
"Masa alkhair," Aten said, stepping up to Jaimen and taking his shoulders. He planted a kiss on each of Jaimen's cheeks.
When Aten stepped back, Jaimen's eyes widened. "Why did you do that? And what did you say?"
Aten smiled. "It means, 'Good Afternoon' in Arabic. That's how you greet family where my daddy is from."
A large smile spread across Jaimen's face. "We're….family?"
Aten nodded. "Yes. If you are Unkie Seto's son, that mates you family."
Jaimen threw himself at Aten, almost knocking the little boy down. Aten staggered back from the impact. He continued to be very thin, even at nine years old. Jaimen was just as skinny, but had a good seven inches on Aten.
"Son? Jaimen, be careful of Aten. He just had heart surgery."
Jaimen jumped back. "Oh my gosh! I'm sorry! I didn't hurt you, did I? You aren't mad at me, are you?" Jaimen grabbed Aten's arms. "Please don't be angry at me!"
"Ow…Jaimen…that hurt. My patematter star is on my leff arm!"
Marik leaned down. "Right arm, son. Right."
Jaimen looked up. "Are you my daddy's friend, too?"
Seto sighed. "No, Marik is a necessary evil."
Marik grinned. "I take that as a compliment. Yes, I am your daddy's friend. Marik Thothmes Ishtar . This is my husband, Malik Ramses Ishtar."
"Husband? You mean, you two are married?"
Malik grinned, wrapping his arm around Marik's waist. "Yes. So are Ryou and Bakura."
"Two guys can't be married!"
Marik nodded. "We are."
Jaimen shrugged. "Okay!"
Joey came out of his studio and called out. Aten ran past Jaimen and ran to Joey.
"Unkie Puppy!"
Joey picked up the skinny boy. "How's my little peanut today?" Joey gasped. "What's that on your neck? I'll get it!" Joey buried his face in the side of Aten's neck, making the boy laugh.
Seto looked down at the kids. "Jaimen, why don't you go show Aria your new toy?"
Jaimen jumped up and down. "Okay! Come on, Aria!"
Ryou looked down at his daughter. "Be good, sweetheart."
"Ryou, I really need to talk to you in private."
Ryou turned to the Ishtars. "Can you watch Bakura for me?"
Bakura was pawing obliviously at the drapes in the hallway.
"We'll watch him, Ryou. You go."
Seto took Ryou's hand and lead him to his bedroom.
Ryou stepped through the door and the CEO locked the door.
Ryou swallowed hard as he heard the lock on the door click. It was time to give Seto what he needed....and considering past experiences, he knew it wasn't going to be pretty.
