A bright light flooded his senses and he tried to squint to keep out most of it, but a pair of elegant, bronze-colored fingers held his eyes open. Finally satisfied with what she saw, Isis clicked off her tiny flashlight. Yugi blinked in an attempt to rid his vision of the colorful spots that now danced in front of his eyes.
"Well, he seems to be in perfect health, so it probably wasn't one of those sickness vision things...Which makes me believe that it was either a once-in-a-lifetime vision experience or he's a psychic," she said as she packed up a few of her medical instruments. Isis had taken several medical courses since the Ishtar's had moved to Domino because of Malik and Marik's tendancy to injure themselves. Now that she was a certified medical practioner though, every one of their friends came to her for check-ups and such.
"A psychic?!" Yami exclaimed from his spot near the stairs. They were currently in the Ishtar's basement to get Isis's advise on Yugi's 'condition'...and probably because Yami wanted to maybe get a glimpse of Marik, maybe even talk with him if he was around.
Isis shrugged. "It could happen," she said. She turned towards the little teen. "Yugi, have you ever had any other dreams, daydreams included, where you imagined something, then it came true?"
Yugi blinked. "You mean like deja vu? Yeah, all the time," he said nonchalantly, shrugging. "Let's see...I saw my parents die in a plane crash." He shivered. "That had to be the worst one ever. I also saw myself moving to my grandpa's, me receiving the puzzle...The list goes on and on. I thought it was natural; everyone experiences deja vu."
Yami and Isis gaped at him.
"What?"
The other boy opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by a deep voice from above his head.
"What are you guys doing here? Someone sick?"
Yami felt his pulse quicken as he looked above his head and saw two figures peering down at them. The one that had spoken was a tanned teenage boy with wild blonde hair - Marik. Yugi had a similar feeling of exileration to his dark's as his gaze fell upon the other figure with white hair and chocolaty eyes - Bakura.
Isis waved their question off, not noticing how her visitors had seemed to freeze. "Not really. Seems we've got a new psychic on our hands though."
They walked down the rest of the stairs and now stood next to Yami. "No way. You're kidding, right?" Bakura asked.
Marik turned towards the taller tri-colored hair teen. "So, you're a psychic?"
Yami opened his mouth to speak, but Isis cut in as she began to laugh.
"Yami? Hardly," she said. Yami glowered at her. She didn't have to make him sound like he was a fool! The eldest Ishtar countinued on without noticing the former pharoah's scowl.
"It's Yugi with the powers. I should've seen it before this though. I mean, he's really empathetic and all that," she explained.
The light blushed at her attention and at the stares he was now getting from the yamis, minus his own yami who seemed a little preoccupied with glaring at Isis for her insinuation and Marik for his...well, his hot-ness.
Bakura approached Yugi and looked him up and down. "I can see that," he said in an almost approving voice as he circled around the other. "Yeah...It makes sense that he'd be one of Ra's chosen."
"Chosen one?" Yugi asked shyly.
Marik nodded and began to explain. "One of the few whom Ra bestows special powers upon. I think Seth had them or maybe it was that one priestess...what was her name again? Anyways, Ra and (1) Ma'at hand-pick the most noblest of hearts to bestow great and wonderful powers upon."
"Ra and Ma'at both chose?" Yugi asked. At the nods from all the Egyptians in the room -meaning all else, but him-, he scratched his head in a confused manner. "Then why don't they call psychics the gods' chosen then?"
Yami paused in the middle of his sulk/scowl-glare to anwser his hikari. "It's because Ra makes the final decision. Still, at the same time, he can't chose someone without Ma'at's approval because then the balance will be thrown. Like say, someone like...an evil dude gets the...I'm sorry! I couldn't think of anyone evil without some weird power! Sheesh!" He exclaimed breaking off from his train of thought at Bakura's raised eyebrow and smirk at the name 'evil dude'.
Marik just shook his head, smiling, and picked up at the place Yami left off at. "If someone evil got power, then it would throw off the scale of life and evil would be more in control. That's why Ra asks Ma'at, so that the balance is not screwed up."
"But...Pegases was evil, but he had pychic powers..."
"That's because he probably was noble to began with. Then he was corrupted," Bakura said, nodding his head wisely.
"I see..."
"Anyways, let's quit reminiscing! We came down here for a reason!" Bakura said while smacking the back of his best friend's head.
"Owwwww!" Marik glared at the pale fiend as he rubbed the back of his head. "What was that for?! You were remi...remin...big wording, too!"
"I dunno," Bakura said shrugging. "I just kinda wanted to hit you."
"Dumbass..." At his best friends pointed look, he then turned towards his sort of sister. "Isis, can we borrow your jar of mercury and some of your herbs?" he asked, and added in a "Please?" when Bakura kicked at him.
"Why?" came the careful answer.
Bakura shrugged. "Um...scientific research?"
Isis sighed and put a hand to her temple where a migraine was beginning to form. "Yeah, sure. Just don't make a mess...or do anything illegal."
Marik laughed. "No prob! We're going to Bakura's so there won't be any mess for you to clean up!" he informed her.
"Yeah, but if you make a mess over there, Ryou'll kill you...or just seriously cause pain," Yami said from besides his crush.
"And that still didn't cover if what you're doing is illegile or not," Isis added in.
"How come everyone things we're so damn irresponsible? I feel so hurt," Marik said in a melodramatic voice.
"That's because you are," Isis snorted.
"Whatever," was the simultaneous response from the two sadists before the two darker yami's made their way across the room gathering supplies. They soon went back up the stairs with their burdens. Neither of the remaining occupants noticed the two lustful glances that were thrown over the retreating figures' shoulders towards the other yami and his light. The door closed behind them with a sharp 'click'.
"Well," Isis said sighing, "let's continue. Now, Yugi...Yugi?"
The teen's eyes were half lidded and a light glossy sheen covered them. His entire body was rigid. After 5 minutes passed, he slowly grew less tense. His eyes fully opened and he blinked cutely.
"I think...I think I just had another vision."
The others stared at him. He blinked again. "Would you guys stop doing that? It's getting annoying to be stared at so much," Yugi said in an oddly annoyed voice.
Yami shrugged and sheepishly grinned. "Sorry, Aibou. You're just filled with so many surprises lately."
Isis nodded. "Yes, but tell us about your seeing, Yugi," she said as she picked up a pen and notebook.
"Well," he began, "I'm not really sure if it's just a vision or a dream." The youth looked up at the older woman, and tilted his head to the side curiously. "How do you tell the difference?" he asked.
"You don't," was the simple answer. Noting his shocked expression, Isis decide to elaborate. "Many things are improbable, impossible even, but sometimes...they actually happen. I mean, look at the pat couple of years of your life. As it goes, you have to take everything in stride and not overlook anything. Be prepared," she explained in a knowing tone. "Now, Yugi, tell us now, what did you see?"
He blinked and shook his head to clear it. "It was of Marik...and Bakura," the lad explained. "They were...OH MY GOD! We have to get over to Bakura's now! They could get hurt!" He quickly got up from the stool he had been sitting on and ran up the stairs. The door was wrenched open as he ran through it and then it slammed shut. Isis and Yami were left wide-eyed downstairs.
Quickly they regained their senses though and hurried towards the stair to the main floor, when the door opened and Yugi came back with a sweet smile on his face. "Isis...Can you drive us there please?"
The Egyptian nodded, still bewildered. They were soon on their way down the road in Marik's purple Hummer which he had left in the driveway.
"What should we expecting when we get there, hikari?" Yami asked expectantly as he settled into the leather seats. All he got in response was a shake of the head. He sighed frustrated and waited for the vehicle to stop to see if anything terrible had happened to the object of his affections.
Soon, they pulled up to a pale blue house and the two tri-colored hair teens shoved open the doors in their hurry to get to the door. Isis followed after them. The smallest of them urgently knocked on the door. No answer. Yami tried then. Still no answer.
All three looked at each other, then two pairs of eyes turned towards Yugi. "What exactly did you see?" they asked in a near unanimous voice.
Their inquiry was ignored; however, as the hikari twisted the handle on the door and it opened. Yugi walked inside towards the kitchen with the other two following after.
When they reached the kitchen, the taller two gasped and a thud was heard behind them as Isis fainted. Inside the kitchen was an interesting sight for sure. A sight that was sure to lead to chaos.
