Oh, I see that Chapter 8 was frightening eh? This story will have elements from my Street Fighter fanfic 'The Past' which focuses on Cammy. It will be psychological and creepy.

~Now to the reviews

Jieli: Hm, that would make him sexier BUT scarier. Btw I loved the last chapter in 'I am Free'. Joey being stuck in a shed with Kaiba. Let's just put me in there for a second…

Kikoken: Let me out; let me out, LET ME OUT! SOMEBODY HELP! *kikoken pounds on door while Kaiba laughs evilly and comes towards her*

Kaiba: Now you're going to pay for writing about Wheeler and me!

Kikoken: *screams*

Neith: Okay…

Leona: that would be frightening…

Kikoken: Hey, we might as well pass the time while we're being chased by a psychotic demonic Kaiba!

Well thanks for reviewing and updating your awesome fic! A cookie for you and a Yami plushie! Eh, he's my favorite character too.

Shadow of Society: They sure do, don't they?

Vendered &neo_elite: Yes, very scary…

Cherry Red Head: Yeah man, tell me about it! And with VK after us, now that's scary!

Neith: You haven't even mentioned how to kill him or even get rid of him!

Kikoken: Do you have a katana on you?

Neith: Um…no

Kikoken: A sword?

Neith: Um…no…

Kikoken: Unless Omnis gets here, we're screwed.

Daisy: We're going to die on a dragon! *screams and pulls at hair*

Kikoken & crew: *sweat-drops*

Oh and about the thing concerning Odibwa College…I just made that up…heh could be real…I'm not sure…

Omnis: No problem, just keep the faith. My mom is in a lot of pain right now…I'm hoping she'll be alright…and hurry up! VK is catching up to us! This form he turned into is scary, very scary!

Chapter 9: Tainted Fear

Domino City, Japan

1:45pm

"Well, that was a great place to have lunch," Jounouchi Mai said, a satisfied look on her face as she and Diana were coming back from their lunch break. They had just gone to yet another popular restaurant for lunch after going through a tough decision to choose whether to go to McDonalds or the restaurant. Mai wanted to go to the restaurant and Diana wanted to go to McDonalds. However, because they were very good friends, Mai decided that they shouldn't argue so they settled for the restaurant.

Now they were heading back to the hair saloon.

Diana smirked.

"You would say that…you had that chicken teriyaki with the salad," she mused in reply. "You, wanting to keep your figure and everything…for Jou…"

"Well, I do," Mai shot back. "And you do too you know, unless you want to become too chubby for Honda…"

Diana hit Mai on the arm then, knowing that the woman was teasing her.

"Very funny," she huffed teasingly, causing Mai to laugh. "Some night it's going to be today…"

"Yeah, some night alright. I warned Jou not to get drunk and act stupid because if he does get drunk, I'm practically going to slap him silly when we get home…"

"I warned Honda too…I'm not going to be the one dealing with the vomiting and the hangover," Diana agreed, making a face then. "And I'm not dragging his carcass home."

"We shouldn't have to worry, they're very civilized guys…the guys can take care of themselves anyway. I don't think they're that stupid to get drunk."

"Maybe not…but remember before?"

"Well that was before but I really hope it stays that way."

"Yeah…I wonder what Honda's wearing tonight? He refused to tell me anything…said it was a surprise."

"Did you ask him?" Mai asked.

Diana nodded.

"Of course I did but he kept insisting it's a secret…some secret."

"Yeah, it figures. Honda is such a perfectionist dresser. The only way you'll even know what he's wearing is when you see him wearing it so I guess you're out of luck right now…"

"I'll just have a sneak peek somehow…"

"Maybe it's a surprise just like he mentioned. Honda is really handsome in anything he wears you know."

"Surprise…humph," Diana huffed again.

Mai smirked at Diana's response as the woman folded her arms.

Diana was definitely too much…

Outside Odibwa College

1:50pm

He watched her as she quickly came down the stairs outside the college, looking around fearfully, he could see the fear in her eyes, her beautiful brown eyes, even from the limousine he was sitting in, his legs crossed, watching her every movement like a predator, before the limousine left for its destination. The chauffer dared not breathe a word, afraid of the man in the back, lest he should lose his job in a heartbeat. It was frightening the way his employer was watching the woman leaving, as though he was stalking her with his eyes and presence.

His eyes were narrowed, almost hypnotic as he gazed at the ways he moved, everything. Of course he couldn't leave without watching what she would do, it was just interesting seeing the fear on her face, as though she was even afraid of going back home, but then again it was an apartment that wasn't even worth calling home. She was so vulnerable that it was too amusing for him. She was like a little scared mouse.

He never expected the mutt's sister to be so vulnerable. She had gotten her first taste of fear, however it was only the beginning and soon enough it would begin to grow. She acted so brave towards him and courageous, he had to commend her for that, however it would soon diminish and he would be sure of it.

Shame on her for not even telling her brother, her low-life mutt brother she had this job. He was sure the mutt warned her about him like the scared little puppy dog he was because he didn't want to see her get hurt. Oh, she wouldn't get hurt, he wouldn't think of doing something like that to her. But she would get hurt mentally and psychologically until she acknowledged his superiority over her and her brother. She wouldn't get hurt physically, not when there was plenty of torture for her to endure. It would be more fun than jumping to the inevitable.

She should have stayed away…

It would be so amusing and manipulating her would be satisfying. Who did she think she was? No one dared to come above his level and if this Jounouchi dared to dread through dark waters, then this Jounouchi shall drown in the water itself.
She should have stayed away…

He applauded her, she showed some guts…but it wouldn't last.

He'll break her eventually.

She should have stayed away…

He watched her through the opened, lightly tainted window carefully as she made her way down the subway steps to take the train.

When she was gone from view, Kaiba Seto simply smiled coldly, pressing a small button to close the window, the window rolling up slowly and automatically. He laughed slowly to himself, a cruel, almost insane laugh as though he enjoyed the fear written all over Shizuka's face, thinking about the potentially vulnerable woman.

She should have stayed away…

Cornered mouse…

My little cornered mouse…

Jounouchi, you know nothing about me. Just because of the whole incident at Battle City does not mean I'll be a little goody-two shoe just for the sake of anyone. I won't become weak for anyone. Friendship is weak; friendship is for the weak…

"Ikimashyoo," he told the chauffer coldly, keeping his thoughts intact, the deep voice commanding and scaring even the bravest of men. The chauffer pulled out from the parking space across from the college, slowly joining the in-coming traffic.

Kaiba smiled evilly again.

She should have stayed away…

Cornered mouse…

The thought of the woman rolled over and over in his mind then. Jounouchi was nothing but a cornered mouse in his eyes. She had no choice but to apply for the job and because of her foolish decision, she had dug herself into something she could not get out of. Yes, he would plenty of fun with her.

She should have stayed away…

Plenty, plenty of fun indeed…

Odibwa Subway Station

2:05pm

Shizuka waited impatiently for the train that would get her back home, looking at her watch for the third time, fear playing in her eyes, tainted fear. She was visibly shaking but refused to let it show. She looked all around her in fear as though she was afraid Kaiba had followed her down to the train station. She didn't see the limousine nor did she see Kaiba staring at her as she rushed down the steps with a malevolent smile, the cold words echoing over and over in her mind. Kaiba scared her, everything about him right now scared her and she had never been frightened in her entire life. The words that he said gave a whole new definition to fear, psychological fear and she didn't like it at all. The whole day was uncomfortable and she wasn't sure whether she would be able to handle the first day of work tomorrow. She had to find some way to avoid him when she was working there but she wasn't sure how she would avoid him…

'Scared little girl...' a cold voice echoed in her mind with a soft, almost insane laugh, causing Shizuka to whirl around then. Only a few people were in the train station as they looked at her strangely. Uncertainty was written all over her face as to where the voice had come from.

She should have stayed away…

Where did that voice come from? It was the same thing when I was heading back to the apartment…I can't let Kaiba get to me…I won't let him frighten me…I don't know what his problem is but…

'Your life will be hell Jounouchi…'

The voice came back again, colder than before but there was no laughing behind it. Shizuka whirled around again, but no one was even near her to speak to her. It was as though the voice came from thin air.

She should have stayed away…

'He doesn't know you work for me, does he?'

"Stop it…" Shizuka murmured, not realizing the train was coming.

'Scared little girl…'

The voice continued to attack her mentally and psychologically, playing a mind game of its own.

She should have stayed away…

"Stop…" she murmured again, backing away.

'Scared little girl,' the voice taunted again and laughed darkly with almost psychotic intent.

'Scared little girl…' it taunted again, causing the young woman to grimace, gritting her teeth, holding her notebook and purse closely.

'Scared little girl,' the voice taunted yet again and it was scaring Shizuka even more than what she felt now. She then heard something screech to a halt, causing her to whirl around again. The train had arrived, the doors opening. Without another thought, Shizuka quickly and nervously got on the train quickly, the train doors closing. The minute the doors closed, suddenly she could have sworn she saw an image of Kaiba on the twin glass windows, grinning evilly at her. Shizuka gasped and jumped in fright, looking around the train fearfully again. The train was semi-empty and no one was paying attention to her at all. The train began to move, heading for its next destination, making stops back to the original stop she had used to get to Odibwa College.

She should have stayed away…

There was no image staring at her then…no one was there. Shizuka backed away, her eyes wide with fear, until she automatically sat in one of the seats in the train, still staring at the windows as though the image would come back.

It was nothing at all. All there was, was a soft cold deep laughing voice in her mind, accompanied with the words; 'Scared little mouse…' The words played over and over in her mind that she didn't noticed that someone was now there, standing above her, just recognizing her from further down the car of the train.

She should have stayed away…

"Shizuka?" the voice questioned a deep, yet soft, gentle voice that caused Shizuka to jump yet again.

Shizuka slowly looked up at the person then.

It was Otogi…
