Two Worlds One Destiny
Chapter Two
Summary:"Seto don't do this!" He shouted. With a few hand strokes, a portal opened, he was shoved in. The portal had opened in an alternative realm landing him with another Yugi and Atemu.
"Would you like me to tell you while you're pinned to the wall or would you like to speak over a cup of tea?"
---Pharaoh Atemu
Mou Hitori no Seikai
"You left us... You went back to your own time and left us to die!" Koryu shouted, surprising Atemu whom hadn't expected that answer. Malik merely raised an eyebrow.
"The pharaoh leaving someone to die? Now why does that sound so familiar?" Malik wondered. Atemu ignored him.
"Koryu, I have one question, do you remember what happened before you fell unconscious?" Atemu asked. Koryu glare at him before turning his head away. "If you don't tell me what happened how am I supposed to help you?"
"Why don't you ask the traitor?" Koryu hissed.
"Who me?" Malik asked innocently.
"NO NOT YOU!" Koryu snapped. "YUGI!" Malik smirked at Atemu's raise of an eyebrow towards the traitor comment.
"Yugi? Now why would Yugi betray anyone?" Malik gave a thought before grinning. "Unless you count a water fight." Koryu reached towards his back again. The rod materialized in Malik's hand before Koryu was slammed into the wall by his shadow magic. "You're not touching anymore weapons today gaki. My arms are still sore." Koryu's eyes widened at seeing the millennium rod.
"When did you learn to dematerialize your rod?" Atemu asked out of curiosity.
"When the damn tomb raider tried to steal it when we were still in Egypt. I don't see why he still wants it, it doesn't even have the power to open the gates to the shadow realm." Malik said.
"Bakana! Those items could still get into the shadow realm! That traitor already sent over a quarter of the Protegere into that retched place!" Malik gave a yawn before turning to Atemu with a grin.
"So when are you going to tell him." He asked cheerily. Atemu raised a hand and Malik's mouth instantly closed. The Egyptian teen raised his hands trying to pry open his mouth.
"Tell me what?" Koryu growled. He could faintly hear Atemu cursing at Malik under his breath.
"I didn't want to tell you anything until I was sure how you were sent here." Atemu glanced over to Malik before glaring at the grinning Egyptian. "But seeing Malik enjoys spoiling my plans," He glared at the grinning Egyptian again. "I'll tell you. Would you like me to tell you while you're pinned to the wall or would you like to speak over a cup of tea?"

(RING, RING)
"Chikuso!" A voice shouted from the showers. The phone continued to ring as the one in the showers quickly turned off the water. The sound of a towel fluttered before the rapid wet footsteps ran towards the cordless. Breathing heavily he picked up the phone and answered. "Moshi, moshi?"
"Took you long enough bonkotsu." Seto's voice came through.
"Kaiba temee!" Katsuya growled. "What the hell you're doing calling my house?"
"If I had a choice I wouldn't even think of calling your house, make inu." Seto snapped.
"I'm not a worthless mutt!" Katsuya growled.
"You sure sound like one." Seto retorted.
"Oh forget it. Why did you call anyways?" Katsuya held the phone between his face and shoulder as he tied the towel around his waist. "Wait, aren't you in America? That's going to be one hell of a phone bill." Seto snorted.
"I came back this morning." Seto said. Katsuya narrowed his eyes.
"Why?" He asked.
"If you don't remember, graduation is in three days and I have a company here." Katsuya didn't answer to that. "Never mind, do you know where's Yugi? I called the game shop, but his grandfather said he wasn't there." Katsuya picked up the phone again before crossing his arms as he looked around his apartment, it was getting a little chilly.
"He was still at school before I left." Katsuya answered before walking over to a window and closing it. Seto growled under his breath, but Katsuya could clearly hear it.
"You weren't with him!? What the hell were you doing?" Seto shouted over the phone. Katsuya held the phone a few inches from his face.
"Unlike you, I don't have a ton of cash. I have a job money bags." Katsuya said dryly.
"Of course, how ridiculous of me to forget you're a mongrel." Seto answered. "How did you get a job anyways, the school prohibits part time jobs."
"I know you didn't call me just to insult me. Why are you looking for Yugi?" He snarled.
"None of your business, since you obvious proved to be no help to me." With that, Seto had hug up. Katsuya glared at the cordless as if was Seto himself.
"Temee Kaiba." He growled through his teeth. His hand shaking the phone and a vein pulsing at the side of his head, he turned off the cordless and threw it onto the couch before storming into his room to get a set of clothes. There was no way he was going to let Seto off like that without answering him, considering Yugi was his friend and whenever Seto is involved, something will happen.

Slamming the phone on its handle. Seto shoved the millennium eye into his pocket before shuffling some paper lying around his desk in his briefcase. Mokuba watched in interest as his brother quickly snapped the case close and stride towards the door. Without a word, he had followed his older brother into the elevator. The elder Kaiba seemed trouble as he stared at Domino's night view through the glass elevator. Once at the landing, Seto swiftly walked out of the building and towards a waiting limo. Mokuba jogged quickly trying to catch up with him. Though, he's twelve, he hasn't hit puberty yet for his growth spurt.
"Drive to domino arcade." Seto ordered before picking up the car phone and dialed the numbers he had on a piece of sticky notepaper. Mokuba opened the fridge and pulled out a can of soda before returning his questioning glaze at his brother.
"'nni-sama?" Mokuba started, but Seto raised a hand to silence him.
"Moshi, moshi? Kimi wa Bakura ka?" Seto waited.
"Hai, dare ka?" Ryou's soft voice came as a reply.
"It's Kaiba." Seto stated.
"Ah, Kaiba-kun, haven't heard from your for a while. I heard you were in America. How is it there?" Ryou asked.
"Cut the pleasantries Bakura, I'm back in Domino. Did your ring glow or did something strange happen?" Seto asked.
"Iie, not that I know of. Did something happen?" Ryou asked. Seto ignored the question.
"Do you know where Yugi is?" He asked hurriedly.
"No but-" Seto hung up and went to the next number.
"'nni-sama-" Mokuba was cut again.
"Not now Mokuba." Seto said as he waited for someone to pick up the on the other side. Mokuba rolled his eyes before opening his drink. "Yes is-"
"Hi, this is Mazaki Anzu. Sorry, I'm busy at the moment, if it's important, leave a message, if not call-" Seto growled before ending the call and dialed another number.
"Moshi, moshi?"
"Is Honda Hiroto there?" Seto asked.
"Honda? This is Tanzuna residence." Mokuba quickly grabbed the cell from Seto.
"Ah, gomen Tanzuna sensei, I dialed the wrong number." Mokuba hung up after that glaring at Seto. "'nni-sama, what is wrong with you? Why are you looking for Yugi so badly?" Seto fidgeted. Mokuba blinked in surprise, he never seen his brother fidget before.
"I don't know, that's why I'm trying to look for him." He said. Mokuba blinked again.
"If you were looking for him, why didn't you-"
"Seto-sama, we're here at the arcade." Seto left the limo before Mokuba can finish his question. The younger Kaiba scowled.

"No but-" Seto hanged up. "I could use the ring." Ryou pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at the phone before hanging it up.
<-Is he always this rude?-> Ryou flinched at the voice of his other half. He almost forgot the presence of him since he hasn't talk since they have returned from Egypt. Half of Ryou's mind thought he was destroyed during the battle with Atemu in the memory world, but knowing his darker half's knack of coming back from the dead, he could only treat the moments the spirit was gone as a vacation.
"Not really, something must have been bothering him. Usually we have a nice conversation of sorts." Ryou said as he turned back to the stove. He was cooking ramen.
<-He was looking for the pharaoh wasn't he?-> Ryou stopped in a mid-stir.
"Maybe... Is there something bothering you? Usually you wouldn't take your time to talk to me." Ryou returned to stirring before chopping up some vegetables. His other half snorted and silence followed. The albino boy wasn't bothered by the silence as he poured the vegetables into the boiling soup. It continued like this for a minute before he started humming 'Overlap'.
<-The priest... He said something about the millennium item glowing right?-> Ryou took a sip of the soup with a sauce plate.
"You don't think..." Ryou started after he lowered the sauce plate.
<-Either the prophecy had started or the damn pharaoh has a sick sense of humor. But seeing the pharaoh is too much of a goodie-two shoe, I'll go with the first thought.-> Ryou resisted to snicker at his other half's comment.
"I'm guessing you want to go look for him now." Ryou said as he turned off the stove and poured out the contents in the pot into a waiting bowl. He dumped the pot in the sink filling it with water before using the lid to cover the bowl of ramen.
<-You're not going to eat?-> The other was confused.
"You want to go look for them right? Well, I'm ready, you can take over if you want." Ryou said, after the events in Egypt, he didn't mind his other half, taking control of his body. Especially, when he's actually telling him and letting him see what he's doing.
<-... Eat, I don't want a weak and starving body to work with.-> Surprised by his other half's masked concern he smiled lightly.
"Thanks." Ryou said before grabbing his bowl of ramen and a pair of chopsticks.

"Well? I'm waiting." Koryu glared at Atemu. He was sitting at the kitchen's island with a cup of tea at hand. Malik on the other hand was on the counter with a can of coffee. His mouth was free from Atemu's spell and was grinned ear to ear now.
"Would you promise me a few things first before I start?" Atemu asked. Koryu narrowed his eyes.
"Depends." He replied. Atemu had a weak smile.
"You must have went through a lot haven't you?" Atemu said softly in a comforting voice. Koryu turned away with a scowl on his face. "Now let's see where should I begin." Atemu gave a sigh wondering where he should start. Malik gave a loud burp after finishing his can of coffee.
"Why don't you start with the prophecy?" Malik shot the can like a basketball into the trashcan. Koryu's eyes narrowed before turning to the pharaoh.
"What prophecy?" He questioned. Atemu's face remained neutral as he answered.
"The prophecy given to me after I have chosen to stay with Yugi and the others." Atemu replied. At first, there was no response from Koryu. The raven-haired boy was shocked. Malik gave a snicker.
"I'm surprised the Kaiba denial syndrome hasn't kicked in yet." Malik said. Koryu turned to glare at the Egyptian before returning his glare to Atemu.
"I don't remember 'nni-sama saying anything about a prophecy. You went back to your time! All the items were supposed to be buried with you when the tunnel collapsed!" Koryu growled. "This doesn't make sense!"
"That's because we never met." Koryu froze at the pharaoh's words. "Tell me Koryu, what happened in your world?"
"M-my world?" The cobalt eyed boy stared at him in disbelief.
"Yes, your world Kaiba-chan, unless you want me to repeat that in Arabic for you." Malik said cheerily. "Or maybe Atemu-chan can repeat it." Not even a glare from the pharaoh could dent Malik's sudden cheery mood.
"What do you mean my world?" Koryu asked. He was getting annoyed by how many times he have been getting shocks that day.
"You fell out of a portal above Domino High a few hours ago. I believe this one is your brother's." Atemu said before pulling out a card locket from his pocket. Koryu quickly snatched it back, surprising the pharaoh by his speed. "There was a spell on it. Mind telling me how he gotten a spell on it? You did say all the items were buried." Atemu said. Silence filled the room for a moment. Malik looked between the two before giving a loud sigh.
"If you two are going to continued the 'oh my god I can't believe this!'" At this point Malik threw his voice off to become a mock feminine voice. "Or 'Yes believe it, because I am your father.'" His voice went considerably deeper at this point before the two occupants sweat dropped. Malik noticed the two staring before grasping the edge of the counter between his legs. "What? It's a classic!" Atemu placed a hand to cover his face.
<Yugi, you gave him those movies didn't you?> The pharaoh asked his light suspiciously.
<_Can't blame me, I like this version of him better._> Yugi answered.
"Bakura had cast the spell." Koryu rubbed the side of his mug with his thumb. "He was the only one that didn't have to dig up the items."
"Koryu, would you mind if you repeated what happened in your realm after the pharaoh in your dimension returned to your time? I'm just presuming that everything else should be fairly similar before that." Atemu said. Koryu was reluctant, but he done what he was told to.
"Well... After you have returned to your time, everyone was obviously sad, though..." A faint smile reached his lips. "'nni-sama didn't care much. He never believed much about the sennen items. I doubt he still thinks that way now."
(CRUNCH)
Koryu and Atemu turned to the sound. Malik had bitten into an apple. The Egyptian waved it off with his free hand for them to continue. Atemu gave him a warning glare, but Malik only took another bite out of the green apple. To add to their annoyance, Malik had taken out a saltshaker and sprinkled salt all over the exposed flesh of the apple. He only grinned wider as he took another loud bite of the apple.
"Please continue Koryu." Atemu urged politely, but his glare never left Malik.
"At first everyone seemed to have returned to their normal lives. 'nni-sama had went off to America to continue business in the states. I didn't hear much from the others while I was in the states with 'nni-sama. After two years in the states, we decided to go back to Domino. At returning, we found out Anzu had left to the states for her dance school, Honda had went into some military program... I think it was the marine." Koryu lingered on the thought for only a few seconds longer before he shook his head. "Bakura had returned to England with his father, I think he said something about fixing what his other half done or something like that." He took a sip of his tea.
"What about the Isthars, Jounochi-kun and Yugi?" Atemu asked. Koryu's eyes seemed to have glazed for a moment.
"I'm getting there." He took another sip. "The Isthars had stayed in Egypt, I didn't hear much from them. Jounochi..." A grin plastered over his face. "He became the new king of games." Atemu raised an eyebrow at this. "But that's only because Yugi was off on a trip and 'nni-sama wasn't there to kick his ass." He took another sip.
"You said something about Yugi being a traitor. May I ask a traitor of what?" Atemu asked. Koryu stared at him strangely. "Is something the matter?"
"You seem too... polite." Koryu murmured.
"Am I any different from the version of me in your world?" Atemu asked. Koryu gave a shrug.
"I never really have talked to you. With the exception of duelist kingdom." He commented before downing the whole cup of tea. He remained silent for a brief moment to swallow everything. "We're fighting a war... Yugi betrayed us during the last battle I was in. I don't really know what happened, but 'nni-sama said he betrayed us. I saw with my own eyes that he sent a wave of shadow energy at the two of us."
"Wait, wait! Hold up! You said the items were all buried with the exception of Bakura. And you said Yugi I mean LIT-TLE Yugi." He pronounced every syllable on the word before continuing. "Used shadow magic?" He turned to Atemu before whispering. "Oi, is your aibou hiding something from us?"
"Urusai Malik." Atemu glared at the Egyptian. Koryu continued.
"A little before Yugi came back from his trip a group called the Deorc appeared. They were hunting down the people that had any relation towards the sennen items." Koryu tightened his grip on his mug. "They went after Pegasus first. Otogi called back from the states warning us about it. After the initial warning, we called over to the Isthars. Shadi was with them. He was the other person that didn't have to dig up his item. Though, he only had his ankh."
"What is Deorc? You accused me of being with them." Malik said.
"Deorc in old English meant dark, but for the Protegere, they're millennium hunters." Noticing their questioning looks, he quickly went into explaining again. "Protegere is Latin for protect, its the opposition group that's going against it. Bakura is the founder, but it's 'nni-sama and Siegfried that supports it. Siegfried joined because Leon was killed. 'nni-sama is the head strategist. Bakura really doesn't do anything except spying." Another grin. "With that innocent look on him, no one really notices. Deorc somehow found a way to overtake Industrial Illusions and inherited all of Pegasus's money and power, we're having a bit of a trouble in business because of that."
"Siegfried... Who's that?" Malik asked.
"Didn't you watch the KC grand prix tournament?" Atemu asked. Malik gave a shrug.
"Too busy." Atemu gave a sigh.
"Please ignore him and continue." Atemu said again.
"The Deorc went to Egypt next. By then, most of the items were dug up. However, it wasn't soon enough." Koryu took a gulp of air. "The Isthars were only able to dig up the eye, the rod and the tauk. These items were given to Shadi before... before..." Koryu couldn't say it.
"Take your time." Atemu soothed, but he knew something was wrong.
"The Isthars were all killed. Shadi barely got away with the items." He whispered. Malik didn't seem to be affected as he took another loud bite from his apple. "By then, the Deorc had the puzzle, the scales."
"Want more?" Malik said before lifting up the pot of tea. Koryu responded with lifting the cup and throwing it at him. The Egyptian barely caught it because of the pot and apple in his hands. "Watch it! 'nee-san will kill me if I break anymore stuff." Koryu ignored him and continued with his story.
"Shadi came to me and 'nni-sama. He could only give us the items before his spirit shattered and disappeared. We didn't even know what to do with the items. So we went to the only one that had any experience with the items. Bakura." Koryu didn't say anything when Malik placed another mug of tea in front of him. "He was... different."
"How different?" Atemu asked.
"I almost didn't recognize him when 'nni-sama and I went looking for him in London. His hair was cut shorter and... there was a stitch scar on the right side of his face." Koryu said as he stared at the steam. "He was bolder too. Wasn't really quiet when it came to meetings."
"Sounds like the tomb raider." Atemu muttered. Koryu heard him and shook his head.
"Not exactly." Koryu said, without looking he knew there was a questioning glance from the pharaoh. "He merged with Bakura. Both of them are the same person. I spoke to him a few times, I never really asked him about it, but he did tell me it was quite strange to have two sets of memory and have no memory of ever being a separate person."
"So what happened?" Malik asked, obvious very curious to what has happened in Koryu's world.
"Bakura was attacked, his father was dead. He was running from them for a while before 'nni-sama and I found him. When we did, we took him back to Japan. When we were back, we found out Anzu was killed along with Shizuka. Jounochi was furious of course. I think he was the first one we recruited and strangely enough..." Koryu took a sip. "The rod accepted him as the new owner. He always joked about how Malik was the cause of the new ownership... But, I could see him hurting."
"What about the other items? Who else is in the Protegere." Atemu asked. Koryu seemed to have lost his anger and hate for the moment and calmed down.
"Protegere was fairly small when it first started. It wasn't until the Deorc had attempted to overtake a few areas that members actually came. Otogi had become a spy since he was still in contact with Industrial Illusions. He gives us mostly information on what the company was planning to do." A bitter laugh. "'nni-sama had to turn KaibaCorp back into a weapon making company. 'nni-sama didn't want any distractions from his strategizing." They waited for Koryu to get his emotions in check before asking.
"What did the government do?" Atemu asked. Koryu snorted.
"Those politic bastards are easily bribed. They don't even care for the war." He gripped tightly to the mug. "Honda came back the second month, he helped trained the new recruits. Varon and Amelda had joined too. Raphael was killed at one point. Neither of them told me how he was killed. They're mostly part of the fighting force on our side." A grin. "Mai came with Vivian a month after they did. Believe it or not, Mai was chosen for the ankh." Atemu raised an eyebrow.
"The ankh? Please refresh my memory, what does the ankh do?" Atemu asked. Koryu gave a sigh.
"Compared to the rod, it's impractical. It could control people, but you'll have to go directly into the soul room and mess around with it, but it wastes time, energy and it only targets no more then one person at a time. Mai is perfect for spying because of that, no one would find her and no one would remember even if they did. Vivian..." Koryu gave a laugh. "She's in the medical division. Can you believe that?"
"Not really." Atemu said remembering the time they have dueled and sweat dropped when he remembered she glomped Yugi before Rebecca and Anzu scowled.
<_If it makes you feel any better, she ran off towards Kaiba-kun when Anzu and Rebecca came._>
"Expected that answer." Koryu's eyelids drooped.
"What about Yugi and the remaining two items?" Malik asked. Koryu rested his head in his arms.
"Yugi and Rebecca and their grandfathers joined half a year later. They were all in Mexico studying some ruins. I think its on the stuff Dartz left behind. All of them are in the research and information division. Though Rebecca works more on the field. Her nickname is the Hacker." He had a faint grin. "Though I could tell how she knows half the stuff she does. She's the holder of the tauk." He was silent for a moment. "As for Yugi, he does most of the translation on the tablets that were dug up. The Isthars were gone and so were Shadi. The only way to find any information on the items was from the tablets and Bakura, but being Bakura, he was too busy with the spying missions to even bother explaining his own ring."
"The Deorc are millennium hunters... but you really didn't tell us what they do." Atemu said.
"That's the problem, we don't know why they're doing this." Koryu said before slamming a fist down on the counter. "And now Yugi went over to their side, damn him." He hissed. "Things couldn't get any worst." Malik made sounds similar to a buzzer from a game show.
"Wrong!" A big grin. "Things would get much worst because you just said it couldn't."
"Malik shut up or I will do it for you." Atemu growled, obviously getting annoyed with the Egyptian. "You left out the eye. What happened to it?" Koryu stared at his tea again.
"You do know the only way for it to work is to be placed in someone's head right?" Malik nodded before shooting his apple core into the garbage can. "'nni-sama had gotten Bakura to help him implant it into him. I still remembered him screaming and blood dripping from his face." He shuddered.
"So you're fighting an unknown war?" Malik leaned back on the counter. "That's kinda stupid." He earned a glare from the two.
"For the next year, we've been fighting against the Deorc to prevent them from overtaking the weak third world countries. I still don't know how they were able to use shadow magic against us during each battle, but we had the advantage of having more items then they do, but... The puzzle is very powerful. I don't know how they were able to use it. Every time we manage to kill the one holding the puzzle, another grabs the puzzle and runs, then a months later another one comes out with the puzzle again. I'm getting sick and tired of it." He grumbled.
"I guess the obvious difference from your world and mines is that almost anyone could use the items. Considering half the people has no relation to the ancient times." Atemu murmured before slipping into a thought.
"So are you going to tell me about your world?" Koryu asked. Atemu didn't seem to have heard him, but Malik had quickly came to the pharaoh's assistance.
"He's like that when he's thinking. I'll tell you... though, I haven't been around him for too long to actually know what happened." Malik gave a shrug. "The tunnel you were talking about hasn't collapsed over here, it still leads down to where the tablets are placed, though the god cards are still in the pharaoh's possession. As far as I know, Shadi has the ankh and scales, Kaiba has the eye, not implanted, pharaoh here." He waved his hand to show the puzzle. "I have the rod, Bakura still has his ring and I think the tomb raider is still with him." He stops to wonder for a moment before shaking his head. "And 'nee-san has the tauk."
"Deorc didn't appear here?" Koryu traced the rim of his mug. Malik gave a shrug.
"Not that I know of. A prophecy was floating around when Atemu had decided to stay, I won't bored you with the details. The thing just says he has new shit to deal with because he caused an imbalance." He glanced over to Atemu and noticed the pharaoh had slipped out of his train of thought. "Want to tell him what's going on with everyone else? Seeing that I've been living in Egypt with 'nee-san and Risid." Malik said. Atemu nodded before looking at Koryu. The raven-haired boy took another sip of the cooling tea.
"I noticed something... There's an obvious time difference from your world and ours. How old are you and your brother?" Atemu asked.
"I'm fifteen and 'nni-sama should be twenty one in a few days..." His eyes saddened. "I wonder if he's alright." Malik raised an eyebrow.
"You're really fifteen? You look about 5'3 to me." Malik said. "Kinda short." Koryu glared at him.
"You're not that much taller, 5'7? I actually like my shortness, it helps in battle a smaller target and I can slip into tight spots." Koryu retorted.
"A three year difference." Atemu mumbled.
"Atemu... That's your name right?" Koryu asked, he seemed unsure. Atemu nodded. "Sorry, no one ever talks about you, I've been calling you mou hitori no Yugi until now."
"It's not a problem, Jounochi-kun and the others still have trouble not calling me Yugi some times. You wanted to ask something?" Koryu nodded.
"I'm not really interested about your world at the moment... is there a way for me to see if my 'nni-sama is ok along with everyone back home?" His voice was filled with concern. Atemu looked elsewhere for a moment before giving a sigh.
"I'm not sure how. I never dealt with anything remotely similar to this before." Malik shifted his attention back and forth on the two again before giving a loud annoyed sigh.
"And I expected the damn pharaoh to know everything." The two looked over to him questionably. "Just go ask 'nee-san when she wakes up. She saw most of what happen didn't she?"

(Tap, tap, tap)
The pencil tapped on the desk rapidly in an unknown beat. Golden tresses fell down to the side of her face before she brushed it behind her ear. On the desk were sets of harpy and amazons cards. It was none other then Kajaku Mai. Giving a sigh she quickly wrote a few finishing words before signing her name. Her concentration at the moment was horrible.
"Mai you done yet?" Varon whined from the hall. "Amelda is stealing the food!"
"Yes, yes I'm done! Yeesh, between you and Jounochi, I don't know who's more childish." She scowled as she walk out of her room and into the shared apartment with the three ex-legendary three swordsmen. Varon pouted before grabbing her by the arm and dragging her to the table. Varon is indeed a strange person. When fighting he could forget all sense of kindness, but when they have nothing better to do then just sitting down for dinner, he could pretend to act cute or just playful.
"So what were you doing?" Amelda asked before forking a slice of beef into his mouth.
"Writing my will." She said sarcastically. The red head snorted.
"Secrecy again?" Amelda said after he swallowed.
"Heard anything from Jounochi? I want a rematch." Varon said as he stuffed his face. "Haven't found anyone good to duel against lately." Dinner went along with small talk between the three. Raphael was at work and wasn't home yet. Mai unconsciously slipped into a deep thought as Varon and Amelda continued to converse.
<KORYU!> Mai dropped her fork. It clanged loudly against her plate. The two at the table stopped and turned to her.
"Daijoubu ka? Mai?" Varon asked. Mai got up from her seat surprising the two.
"I-I'm going out for a walk." She managed to say before quickly leaving the table and grabbing a jacket from the coat hanger next to the door. With a slam of the door, she was gone. The two stared at each other for a moment.
"Should we go after her?" Amelda asked. Varon grabbed a roll and stuffed it in his mouth before getting up. Amelda rolled his eyes as he watched the other run after Mai. He followed shortly after grabbing two jackets and scribbling down a note for Raphael if he came back early.

First thing is first, most of you probably wondering why Koryu is so trusting since he had experience in war. I'm trying to show that he has some child innocence left, though not much of it. The war hadn't affected him too greatly because he hadn't lost anyone yet. If Hakuryu (Seto) dies, then his personality will change a lot. AND I MEAN A LOT!
Now with Malik. Why is he being so annoying? (He's not annoying to me though might be annoying to others) I never believed Malik to be dark. He does have a nice and playful side, but in the show, he was just to wrapped up in getting revenge to show it. He's kind of sweet when you really look into his character. Anyways, the reason for his personality, the story is going to get quite serious later on, but all this seriousness is going to kill me and the story if there are no breaks in between. Malik and a few others will be in charge of a humor break in the story.
Why do I use Katsuya as the main name instead of Jounochi? I'm trying to call everyone by first name bases even though in the show they usually just call each other by their last name. Especially, when Shizuka also has Jounochi as he last name. I don't remember seeing her mother's last name so I couldn't give her a different last name. I'm trying to show Katsuya maturing slightly from his previous adventure. He still snaps at Seto, because it's too humorous for that to change, but he'll be fairly polite to almost everyone else.
Mokuba, oh yes, this little adorable twit. Unlike Koryu, he doesn't have the experience in a war. He's still relies on his brother for everything, but he's very perspective. It'll come to an understanding to how Koryu and Mokuba are similar and different later. As for Seto's fidgeting personality. No, it's not going to be there for long. After all, we can't let our loveable jerk become a coward. He's just worried for his brother's safety. Hey, Mokuba is perspective about certain stuff, he could easily be naïve about other things and over look them.
Ryou, he's strange isn't he? Nearly getting killed so many times because of his other's actions, but still lets the crazy guy use his body. My theory is that Ryou is very lonely, though the original story did say that it's his other half that caused his alienation from other people, I think it's his appear and gentle nature that cause it. He probably enjoys the company of his other half even though he's not very kind towards him or more specifically, his body. The tomb raider on the other hand. I'm trying to get him away from the HEY I'M THE DAMN BAD GUY! HATE ME PEOPLE! He's not really that bad. After all, he had to watch his whole home village being used as a sacrifice to make the millennium items. Give the guy some credit! You'll be angry if someone took your family and the people around to make stupid little jewelries. If you're not, call me and I'll make an appointment for you to meet Malik's other personality. I'm sure he'll love to talk to you. And no, that guy is not an Egyptian spirit. Malik just has the multi-personality syndrome. And it just so happens to be murderous.
Finally some information on the Senso no Seikai. I'm trying to include almost everyone in the original storyline if you haven't noticed. The other thing is, war is not carried out by a few individuals. True the general and strategist are limited to a few, but seeing that the war had taken place in so many areas, more people are bound to join in. Not everyone has the same roles and purposes. I'll elaborate.
Hakuryu and Ryou in Koryu's realm are the head two strategists, others would being able to join the conversation, but the finalization is only between those two. They are the most cunning ones anyways. Then there's the main fighting force, they're the ones that takes orders from the strategist. Katsuya, Varon and Amelda are the more active fighters on the battlefield while Honda Hiroto just prepares and teaches the ones that they take to battle with.
Now for my favorite group in the Protegere's divisions, the spies and information gatherers. Ryouji, Mai and Ryou are the main spies. Ryouji does it through his business relation towards Industrial Illusions, but he really doesn't get much, so most of the time, he's just helping to sneak members of the Protegere in. Mai, as the holder of the ankh and her feminine beauty, it's not very hard for her, but more on her later. As for Ryou, he's after all the product of the merging of the tomb raider and the ever so innocent Bakura Ryou. He could easily disguise himself or act rather sweet and innocent.
Onto the information gatherers. Rebecca being the child prodigy she is, she had been able to hack into Seto's security system once before and offered him to hire her for a better system. Obviously, her talent is not to be underestimated. With the addition of the tauk, it speeds up her usual proceed by ten fold. That's for her reason to be working on the fields so freely with the others.
The other information gatherers consists of Yugi, Sugoruku and Rebecca's grandfather professor Hopskin (this is what I found in the original sites, but I'll use Hawkins cause it sounds nicer) Their specialty is more on the ruins and libraries. Though, Yugi would join the strategy planning every now and then to add his two yen. War is very similar to a game and with his old relation with the game king, it's obvious that he is another force to be trifled with. Too bad he's a traitor, makes Hakuryu's job so much tougher and it helps build another mystery onto the story. Why would innocent Yugi betray them? That'll be explained much later.
Last group of explanation of this chapter. Oh dear, almost two pages! Why is Mai living with three guys? Seeing that she was fairly close to them during the doom arc, it would be cruel to make her live alone again. Besides, these three have something in common and they prove to be good company and influence on one another. This bond will prove to be useful later on in the story.
Varon, doesn't really act like the way he does in my story, but I'm putting him in the same category as Malik. He has a nice side... Well he does! He proposed to Mai DAMN IT! I found it sweet when he did that. You'll find he could get very serious if he wants to. He's just enjoying himself and his new company.
Amelda, I always found him to be a snappy sarcastic type of character. You're probably wondering how I deducted that since he really didn't do much in the series but blame Seto for killing his little brother. The show didn't really elaborate on his personality, but I'm putting him in a similar category as Malik and Varon. Not exactly the same, because he doesn't seem to be like a jokester like Varon. He's a bit more serious.
Raphael, he didn't appear in this chapter and he'll probably show up later, but since I'm doing that house's residences, might as well do him too. He's the oldest out of the whole group. At least he seems so to me, I don't recall them ever saying how old he really is. I'm just thinking him sort of like the father or big brother type of person in the group. He reminds me of Seto, just only much kinder and less snappy. He's probably the most serious in the group, but like Seto, he does have other sides. Just only, he's too much of an adult. -.-0 Hmm... Probably that's while I killed him in the other realm. LOL! It was also a motivation for Varon and Amelda to join the Protegere.
Now Mai was acting strange in the last part of the story. Why? A link, that's all I'm able to tell you. I'll let the rest of the guessing and theorizing to you. You'll see in a chapter or two anyways. Last person. YUGI! Well, the little midget didn't appear much in this chapter. I DON'T hate ANY of the characters. I just like insulting them because it's my weird sense of affection towards people. So if you get offended because I'm insulting them, sorry, it's a habit. Koryu doesn't like Yugi because the one in his world had betrayed him. Long story short, it's for his own safety to stay out of sight from Koryu, especially with those weapons he has.
A/N: Come on people give me some response to let me know you're not dead!
