Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Two Worlds One Destiny ❯ Chapter Four ( Chapter 4 )
Two Worlds One Destiny
Chapter Four
Summary:"Seto don't do this!" He shouted. With a few hand strokes, a portal opened, he was shoved in. The portal had opened in an alternative realm landing him with another Yugi and Atemu.
"You might be the king of games, but when it comes to arguing with 'nni-sama, you lose to the queen of nag."
---Mokuba Kaiba
Mou Hitori no Seikai
"You can stay here until we can find a way to send you back." Mokuba said as he dragged the older version of himself into one of the many guest rooms. The conversation at Malik's apartment ended with Ryou attempting to talk to his other half about helping and Malik dragging his whole family to look for anything helpful.
"Where's Yugi?" Koryu asked. Yugi had went with them to the Kaiba mansion because Seto had some questions.
"He should be in 'nni-sama's office, but I wouldn't go in there." Mokuba said as he jumped onto the bed and bounced a few times.
"Doushite?" Koryu asked suspiciously. Mokuba gave a shrug.
"Dunno, they're always like that, but it always end with Atemu storming out growling at 'nni-sama." He grinned, surprising Koryu for a moment. "Neh, neh Koryu, tell me how 'nni-sama is in your world? I want to see how much different he is from my 'nni-sama." A weak smile spread across Koryu's face before his tense body relaxed slightly.
"Sure..." Koryu said before taking a seat next to Mokuba and started.

"Oi Kaiba, why did you drag us here?" Katsuya said in annoyance. Seto glared at him.
"I invite only Yugi. You just happened to tagged along." Seto said. Yugi quickly raised his hands to pacify the two.
"Stop it already. We're trying to help Koryu. If you two continue fighting, it's just going to scare him. Really, you two fight like old married couples!" Yugi huffed before allowing Atemu to take over. The ancient pharaoh chuckled as he took the place of his lighter half.
"A very interesting description of you two." Atemu grinned as Seto scowled. "Alright, we all did our share of bickering. What's the problem?" Atemu said with amusement over his face. Koryu had made him cautious over his hikari's health, but the bickering of the two old rivals always soothed him. Seto gave a sigh to relax himself from Katsuya's constant baiting. He knew the blonde did it purposely, but it was a good stress reliever to let off.
"There's something strange about Koryu's story." Seto said before typing something on his laptop. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a recorder. Katsuya raised an eyebrow.
"You carry that around?" Katsuya crossed his arms and leaned back. "Isn't that illegal?" Seto gave a smirk before downloading the file into his laptop.
"It's not illegal as long as you don't get caught." Atemu raised an eyebrow at his answer. "Listen to this part." Seto clicked and dragged his mouse.
"Bakura was the one that cast the spell, Ha- 'nni-sama-" Fast forward. "K-Katsuya..." He released a shaking breath. Seto clicked the mouse again.
"Anything?" Seto folded his hands. Atemu's eyes narrowed and covered his mouth partially with his hand.
"He was about to call you something else." Atemu answered. "But he did say they were in war, he probably has to avoid using honorable titles." Seto nodded and glanced over to Katsuya.
"Well, make inu. Any thoughts? Or maybe you have none." Seto said dully.
"Urusai Kaiba." Katsuya released his crossed arms and laid them limply on his legs. "I'm wondering why he used my name. No one ever uses it, besides my mom."
"He was quite frightened by you." Atemu commented.
<_Mou hitori no boku, there was something else strange too. He didn't call Jounochi-kun Katsuya all the times. He spoke of him as if they were two different people...Do you think... He's like Malik with another personality?_>
"Yugi just brought up an interesting theory." Atemu spoke, the two turned their attention to him. "There could be the possibility of Jounochi-kun having another personality."
"Yes, the mutt would have that disorder." Seto commented dryly. "But none of our assumptions are leading us anywhere near what we're looking for."
"That you are looking for. I have no trouble in believing Koryu." Atemu answered.
"He's my little brother and I don't even trust him. Why do you trust him?" Seto asked suspiciously.
"It's your problem that you don't trust you own brother." Atemu stood up. "Unless there's any real proof of why you don't trust Koryu, I'm planning on helping him until he returns home. Unless you have forgotten the prophecy." Seto scowled.
"You believe that gibberish? My secretary could write something more believable in old English." Seto said. Atemu gave a sigh.
"I-never mind." Atemu didn't bother arguing with Seto. He knew what the results were.

<-Why am I helping again?-> The tomb raider Bakura asked. <-You're the one that offered your help, not me.->
<I thought you didn't mind what I did.> Ryou said skimming through the books Malik had lain out in the house.
<-Yes... When it doesn't involve me, my damn host.> Ryou smiled lightly at the comment. His other half was slowly returning to his usual snappish self.
"What are you smiling about?" Malik asked curiously. Ryou shook his head with a smile.
"Nandemonai." He answered before continued to thumb through the books. The spirit might be protesting at the moment, but he knew he was helping as well. Everyone had changed over the course of the year's continuous occurring events. From the Death-T all the way to the end of Atemu's memories. "How's Isis-san?"
"She calmed down a bit, but she still wouldn't tell me what she saw. Risid locked up the tauk. The pharaoh said she's not to touch that until she's completely recovered." Malik commented as he placed down the book and picked up another.
"Is she helping with the search?" Ryou wondered before picking up another book, he had gotten exceptionally well with hieroglyphs and the Arabic language with all the books his father left in their study. Malik shook his head.
"When I asked her she said she's not helping us send Koryu back to that wretched place... I never thought of 'nee-san as Mokuba's protector before." He said with a hint of humor in his voice. "Do you think 'nee-san saw something horrible?" Malik looked slightly nervous. "She was never one to fight against destiny before."
"Malik..." Risid looked disturbed. The two younger boys looked up at him.
"What is it?" Malik asked obviously annoyed.
"There's someone at the door that wants to see Koryu." Risid said. Ryou looked confused while Malik's eyes narrowed.
"Who is it?" Malik asked. There was an annoyed clucking sound from someone's tongue. They all looked at the door and were surprised by whom they have seen.

"Koryu." The raven-haired boy had looked away from the game of chess Mokuba had started with him and looked over to Atemu. Mokuba noticed the presence of the pharaoh and looked up from the game as well.
"Need me to leave?" Mokuba asked. Atemu shook his head.
"Continue your game. I just wanted to make sure Koryu is comfortable." Mokuba raised an eyebrow before snickering.
"You fought with 'nni-sama again didn't you?" He said. Atemu gave a sigh. "Who won this time? I made a bet with Honda and Otogi that you would lose."
"You bet against me!?" Atemu shouted. Mokuba grinned, while Koryu looked between them in confusion.
"You might be the king of games, but when it comes to arguing with 'nni-sama, you lose to the queen of nag." Mokuba said. Atemu burst out laughing.
"You better not let your brother hear that." Atemu said before taking a seat next to Koryu. He noticed Koryu's surprised look out of the corner of his eye. "Something wrong?"
"I... Never mind." Koryu said before moving one of his chess pieces. Atemu had noticed what was bothering him. The raven-haired boy was jealous of his alternative self for having such a carefree life. Atemu shook his head as he turned his attention to the game. It was a good ten minutes before the game came to an end. Mokuba had won.
"Wow, I didn't expect to win." Mokuba said after he noticed he had cornered Koryu into a checkmate. Koryu gave a sigh.
"You would probably work well with Necro and Hakuryu with your strategizing skills." Koryu commented as he reset the board for another game.
"You told me Hakuryu is 'nni-sama." Mokuba said and quickly caught Atemu's attention.
<So he was trying not to say Hakuryu before.> Atemu stored that small info at the back of his mind.
"But who's Necro?" Mokuba asked. Koryu smiled slightly.
"That would be Bakura." He said as he moved his first pawn. Atemu thought for a moment before started laughing. Necro was part of Dark Necrofear's name.
"How suiting." Atemu said as he watched the game between the two.
Koryu is older and experienced more of a rougher life, Mokuba is younger and enjoyed his carefree life. One had caution, betrayal and hate in mind. The other had nothing but childish dreams. This was indeed very interesting for Atemu. Koryu's moves were all calculating and offensive and Mokuba's moves were defensive and somewhat deceiving.
(Knock, knock)
"Come in!" Mokuba shouted. Koryu looked up with caution at the one entering, when he noticed it was Katsuya, he flinched slightly.
"Did you know how long it took me to find this damn room?" Katsuya said in annoyance. Atemu noticed Koryu's discomfort.
"What's the matter?" Atemu asked. Katsuya leaned against the door lazily and released a sigh.
"Kaiba said Malik gave us a call. He said he found something... or rather someone that could help." He answered. "Kaiba is already in his damn limo. He just told me to come up and get you guys." Mokuba blinked.
"Why would 'nni-sama do that? We do have phones in this room." Mokuba said. Katsuya stood there clueless for a moment before rage spread across his face.
"TEMEE KAIBA!" He growled before running out of the room and shouting bloody murder at the blue eyed CEO. Atemu chuckled before shaking his head. The video phone in the room rang before Mokuba answered it. Seto's face flashed on a second later.
"It's the bonkotsu there yet? Or did he get lost?" Seto said in amusement. Mokuba only laughed.
"You're evil you know that, 'nni-sama?" Mokuba said with a similar grin on his face.
"I presume he already found out about the prank." Seto said. Mokuba nodded. Seto turned his attention to the other two occupants. "You two better hurry. Malik said there should be someone you're familiar with there. He wouldn't give me all the information, but it's best if you hurry." He grinned. "We might be able to leave the bonkotsu behind."
"Are you sure you want to leave Jounochi in our house?" Mokuba asked. Seto didn't bother to give a thought.
"You're probably right, he might rape our guard dogs." Seto sent Mokuba into another fit of laughter while Atemu glared.
"TEMEE KAIBA!" The group watched as Katsuya climbed into the limo and attempted to attack Seto. The video phone turned off moments later. Mokuba stood up from his seat and turned to both Atemu and Koryu.
"We better get down there before they kill each other... Or rather, 'nni-sama kills Jounochi." Mokuba said cheerily.
"That wouldn't be the same if it was back at my world." Atemu could faintly hear Koryu mutter. They followed the young Kaiba out of the mansion and into the limo. To their surprise, Seto was sitting casually even though his hair was ruffled and his clothes were a bit disordered. Katsuya looked the same manner except his lips were a swollen.
"What happened to you Jounochi?" Mokuba asked as he hopped to take a seat next to the blonde. With a blush, Katsuya turned away. Atemu looked at Seto with an eyebrow raised.
"What are you staring at?" The CEO snapped. "Get in the limo." He ordered. Atemu only became more amused as he got into the limo with Koryu. The ride went by with Mokuba attempting to draw them into conversation. Atemu glanced in between Seto and Katsuya with amusement over his face.
<_Nani o okashi, mou hitori no boku?_> Yugi asked. The pharaoh couldn't resist any longer and covered his mouth snickering.
<Kaiba tou Jounochi... BWAHAHAAHA!!!!!!> Yugi blinked before he appeared in his astral form. He noticed Koryu looking at Atemu curiously along with Mokuba. Katsuya seemed embarrassed and Seto was impassive. Yugi blinked as he looked in between the two and their stature. He grinned when he noticed how flustered Katsuya was.
<_I didn't know Jounochi-kun swing that way._> Atemu burst into laughter when Yugi had said it.
"Nani o okashi?" Seto snapped, obviously annoyed by Atemu's laughter. Atemu regained some of his posture before smirking at Seto.
"You should know yourself." He answered cryptically. The rest of the ride went on in silence. Katsuya had stopped blushing after five minutes. Koryu looked out of the window and at the many stores, they were passing. A pained look was over his face. It wasn't long before they were at Malik's apartment.
(Ding Dong)
"Took you long enough." Malik said as soon as the door was opened. Upon seeing Malik, Koryu had pulled out his gun before the Egyptian could reach for his rod.
"Koryu, lower the gun." Atemu ordered.
"Che, I'll be glad to say I won't be missing you much after you leave." Malik said before stepping aside for them to walk in. "Your visitor is in the living room with Bakura and 'nee-san." Keeping his weapon out, Koryu silently stride towards the living room. Atemu glanced over to Malik questionably.
"Is there a reason why you're not telling us who this visitor is?" Atemu asked quietly.
"All I'm telling you, don't switch with Yugi." Malik said before closing the door after the others had walked in.
"Don't switch with Yugi?" Atemu asked.
(Cling, cling, cling)
"Not again!" Malik shouted as he ran into the living room. The others quickly followed suit. On the ground scattered were kitchen knives. In Koryu's hand was a single kunai in his other was his two guns. No doubt, he had blocked all the kitchenware.
"Not bad hun, you would probably work well with Recca's division with a few more months of training." They were surprised by the speaker.
"How are Hakuryu and the others Kumi?" Koryu snapped. "And how did you get here?"
"Mai? " The visitor for Koryu immediately tensed and turned their attention to the group behind Koryu.
"Yugi!?" The woman that looked like Mai growled hatefully.
"Matte Kumi! This isn't Yugi!" Koryu was quick to defend the pharaoh surprising the older woman. Atemu's eyes narrowed after studying Kumi briefly.
<Aibou, do you think there's something strange about this Kumi?> He asked his lighter half. Yugi was in his astral form next to Atemu. His eyes narrowed the same way Atemu's did.
<_She looks exactly like Mai-san... Too much alike._>
<If you look closer, you'll notice she didn't age like Koryu.>Yugi nodded at the observation, before either could ask or answer, Atemu placed a hand on Koryu's shoulder.
"Before you ask Kumi-san here another question. Would you mind telling me why you're in our resident Mai's body?" Kumi raised an eyebrow while the others behind him looked surprised.
"I will not answer you until I know you're not the traitor. He has the puzzle now and everyone knows the puzzle is capable of anything once you learned all of it's secrets... Yugi had already learned more then half through watching most of our users." She glared at him. "How would I know if you haven't just conjured up all of these people?" Koryu's eyes widened before he quickly backed away from Atemu.
"How could I have been so stupid?" Koryu mutter to himself.
"Koryu, don't berate yourself." Kumi said reassuringly to Koryu. "You haven't dealt with his power before. So you wouldn't be able to tell the difference." Atemu's shoulders slump as his eyes closed.
<Aibou... I can't take this any longer. If I have to handle being a pacifist, I would rather lock myself in the puzzle for another millennia.> Yugi took over afterwards. It was obvious that his darkness cannot stand closed-minded people. He released a breath of air before his eyes opened again.
"Kumi-san, I would like you to trust me. I don't know what the alternative me had done in your world, but if you continue your doubts in us, it's going to become difficult for us to help you." Yugi said looking at Koryu. "In this world, Atemu had decided to stay with us. We're grateful for his stay and we're willing to face anything that heads our way because of his staying. The Kage no Unmei prophecy already foretold the troubles we're supposed to deal with. I could only assume assistance towards your world."
"I-" Kumi started again.
"Kumi-san." Yugi cut in before she could protest. "What do you need as proof?" Kumi stopped and looked at him in surprise.
"Proof?" She said, she laughed. "You're willing to give me proof?" She had laughed again before her face had went cold and stiff. A glare was over her amethyst eyes. "Giving the Protegere proof, means to let us raid your mind completely with every single memory from your birth to the presence. No secret is to be held back, we'll dig up your worst memories, your fears, your hates and best of all, your pain." There was a sadistic expression over her flawless face. Isis, Katsuya and Mokuba had cringed at her description of proof, while the others, Yugi included, was unaffected.
"Then go in as you please. You'll find it void from what you have accused me of." He answered before opening his arms welcoming her to raid his mind. Malik's eyes widened.
"Bakayaro! You're actually allowing someone in your head!? With the lack of power your puzzle has right now, you wouldn't be able to defend yourself if they decided to change you memories and control you!" Malik snapped. Yugi remained calm.
"I trust you would not do what Malik had suggested." Yugi said. Kumi was frowning, but a smirk spread across her face moments later.
"Interesting..." She gave an amused hum as she leaned forwards and rested her chin of the back of her hand. "You're willing to take that risk?" Yugi gave a smirk that could rival Atemu's.
"Life would be dull if we don't neh?" He said. Kumi closed her eyes and gave a chuckle.
"Very interesting... I'll play along." She said. She closed her eyes before a golden glowing orb floated in her hands. "There's some interference with my powers, but..." She grinned. "It should be enough." She stood up before charging at Yugi. Katsuya wanted to move to push him out of the way, but his body was frozen.
<Kuso! Why couldn't I move!?> Katsuya thought. He then noticed the golden glow around his body. His eyes darted towards Yugi. <No, it's not from him... then--> His eyes widened before glaring at Malik.
<Gomen inu-chan, but the pharaoh had asked me specifically to lock both you and Kaiba.> Malik and Katsuya had had a telepathic link since the end of battle city, but neither had noticed until Atemu and Bakura had finished their game in the stone tablet.
<INU-CHAN!? I'M GOING TO KILL YOU WHEN I GET OUT OF THIS!> Katsuya roared through the link, making Malik hold his head in pain. He temporarily blocked off the connection to avoid anymore headache.

"Rebecca, wake up." Professor Hawkins said as he gently shook his granddaughter awake.
"Hmm?" Rebecca opened her eyes tiredly and blinked. "Doko ka?"
"We're at the hotel. We can go visit Yugi tomorrow." He said as he gently urged her to wake up.
"Yu-gi?" Her eyes widened, suddenly more awake then she ever was. "Ji-chan! The woman on the plane!"
"Onna?" He said curiously. "What woman? I haven't seen anyone out of the normal." Rebecca shook her head.
"It's Mai! The one from Doom!" She shouted.
"Ah, you mean Kujaku-san?" Rebecca was surprised by her grandfather's calamity and politeness towards the mentioned person.
"Kujaku-san?" She questioned the politeness of the name. Her grandfather nodded.
"She helped carried you to the cab, now that I think of it, she's quite strong." He said as an afterthought.
"Carried me?" She was becoming confused by the woman's actions.
"She apologized for putting you to sleep." He said.
"Huh?" She said obviously quite lost by now. Professor Hawkins only smiled before ushering her out of the cab to gather their belongings.
<It wouldn't be long before she finds out something is strange with her own grandfather.> From the shadows, Shadi stood there with both his items out in display. <This woman from the other realm... What is she? I haven't seen that display of power over one's mind. Malik is an amateur compared to her.> He only watched the child prodigy and the archeologist for a moment longer before disappearing. <Truly, is this really the work of the prophecy?>

Kumi's eyes snapped opened once she was within the corridors of Yugi's mind. She knew every second is precious for her to gather information, there's no time to waste on slowly adjusting your eyes to one's mind. She stride down the narrow passage, her heels clicking as she went. The wall to her right was dark while the other side was a light shade of gray. Allowing her hands to briefly slide against the two walls, she was able to draw memories from the most recent events.
"So, that's how you tricked him." She murmured. "How childish." She walked further down the hall until she noticed two doors. Her eyebrows bunched up in confusion. The passageway was getting more narrow as she got closer and the doors were barely a foot away from one another. <Another door?> She thought as she walked closer.
The door on the right gave off a foreboding feel while the left was slightly more inviting. She went towards the left and pushed the door open without gentleness or much care for the owner of the mind. She had readied herself for a mental defense to go up and attack her, but nothing came. After having to deal with the Deorc, she had faced various people with a strong mind and will. It had made her quickly and sharper to most attacks.
"No defenses?" She said in an outrage.
Glancing in the room, she noticed a ton of toys scattered around the room, but not enough that would block the walking paths. Making sure there were no traps, she hastily walked into the room and studied closer. Her hands glide over the items in the room, drawing memories from his life. Unlike Shadi, she does not look through the mind and justify the person through psychological studies. She was more direct, it would waste less time for her to study and hack her mind looking through each and every item.
"Nothing?" She said in disbelief when she found no trace of Deorc or the Protegere in his memories other then what Koryu had said. "I don't believe it!" She hissed before raising her hand towards the corners. "Reveal yourself to me!" She roared, a bright flash went through the room. When the light faded, nothing had changed, infuriating her further. She stormed out of the room and glared at the door next to it. "Must be in this door." She muttered angrily before reaching out to shove it open, but what surprised her was that the door opened by itself.
"It's rude to slam doors, isn't it?" Atemu stepped out and leaned against his door. Kumi's eyes narrowed.
"Yugi?" She hissed.
"Iie, boku wa Atemu." He answered. "Unlike Yugi, I will not allow you to enter my mind as easily. I don't care if you have to have proof that we are truly trying to help you. Some memories are meant to be left in the dark."
"Don't bull shit me." She hissed. "I will not step down because you asked me to. I have more then my own life to look over! I will not let a chance of a traitor slipping away because of this." A whip materialized in her hand before she lashed out at him. Unprepared by her sudden attack, Atemu could only dodge before the whip came in contact with him. Being injured in the mind takes a much longer time to heal then when you're injured physically. He landed ungracefully on the ground.
"Matte!" He shouted to her, but it was too late, she had already ran in. Atemu's room was lit with a dull golden light. Her eyes darted around the room before she noticed the shadows creeping up on her. Gathering a ball of light in her hands, she attempted to ward off the shadows, but unfortunately, her energy was lacking because her limited access to her magic.
"W-What is this!?" She shouted before charging her whip with light energy. The whip was only able to keep the shadows away temporarily.
"I told you not to come in here." Atemu said as he got up brushing off some imaginary dust on his arms. "My room is filled with darkness, sadness, loneliness, hatred, fear and many other things that could drive a person insane if they're not used to it." He pocketed his hands. "It's a parting gift from Dartz." By now, Kumi had dropped her whip and the shadows were ensnaring her, started from her legs.
"Dartz!?" She shouted in shock as she fought to free herself from the shadows. "What on earth did that madman give you?" Atemu noticed the resentment towards the old spirit. After all, Dartz did take her soul along with many others in an attempt to revive the god of darkness.
"Do you really want to know?" Atemu asked, making her stop for a moment. "It's ten thousand years worth of darkness." He watched as the shadows attempted to drown her in her worst fears. "In order for Dartz to return to normal and crossover to the world of the dead, he had to be purified... The only way to do that was to take all influences from the Orichalcos from him."
"Orichalcos?" Kumi recognized the name. It was the stone and card she used to steal Pegasus's soul long ago.
"By taking the power away from him, it needed a refugee." Atemu said as he leaned against the frame of the door. "I took on the duty to carry all ten thousand years worth of darkness... And here you're trying to find proof of my loyalties?" He sad in amusement. Kumi looked fearfully at Atemu's amethyst red eyes.
"Mou hitori no boku, yame nasai!" Yugi shouted as he stepped into the room. The shadows reclined at his presence. Kumi collapsed to her knees breathing heavily, her eyes widened in shock and her form was shaking from the fear the shadows had brought to her mind. Yugi quickly jogged to Kumi's side and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulders. "Daijoubu desu ka?"
"I-I've seen enough." She said trying to regain some of her dignity. "Please show me the way out." Yugi nodded before helping her to her feet.
"Mou hitori no boku, I'm sure you're not going to let those shadows out of control again, am I clear?" Yugi said sternly. Atemu only continued his amused grin before allowing them to pass the door and closing it once they were out.
"That really was... the pharaoh." Kumi said weakly. Yugi only smiled as he helped her down the passage out of the corridors of his mind.
"I hope this is enough proof for you." Yugi said before they both exited his mind.

A/N: I think this is a good place to stop.
Translations:
Doushite: Why
Neh: Not sure how to explain this, but it's usually used as a way to catch someone's attention or in more familiar form in English, it's the same way of adding right. (Ex: You like me, right?) In this case, neh is used the same way as right. (Ex: Neh, neh Koryu!) In this other case, it's used as hey. Confusing, yes, but it's interesting in a way.
Nandemonai: It's nothing.
Tou: And
Bakayaro: Stupid bastard
Kuso: Shit
Onna: Woman
Explanations:
The relationship of everyone in the story is a bit closer then it actually is in the show. Katsuya and Seto obviously has something going on there, but what they have going on, no one really knows but themselves. I'm trying not to create couples too early in the story, after all this isn't really a romance story. Malik and Ryou, I always thought they would become close friends if they had the chance. I'll try to make them appear more often. The little disputes with Koryu and Malik. It's obvious Koryu doesn't like his mind to be raided, so no surprises that he would pull the gun on Malik as often as he can.
The appearance of Kumi is mainly to show how Koryu is still young and inexperienced compare to the others back at his home world. Curious to why she's in the body of their Mai instead of her own? Unlike Koryu, the spell would work differently on her. The spell was supposed to send the person to a safe place, but it didn't specific where. It was unreliable to her account. The only thing she was able to do is lock onto his energies and find the most suitable host temporarily.
Rebecca and her grandfather. I said she was going to play a role later and she will. The little section was just to bring out Shadi... We all know how he's ever so hard to find and how he always appeared unexpectedly. Shadi might not have a big part because of how mysterious and lack of information I have on him, but he's an essential to send Koryu back to his realm.
Atemu and Yugi's soul rooms. You have noticed the part where I said the passageway was narrowing and how close the two doors are. There's a reason for that, in the other realm I have said Ryou and Bakura had already merged. How they merged, I never elaborated on that. When Ryou's father was killed, he experienced something similar to Bakura watching his whole village being sacrificed to create the millennium items. Due to that event, the major difference between the two were gone and their mind were able to merge.
Same thing is occurring for Yugi and Atemu. They had main similarities, but were separate because Yugi's undying amount of innocence. However, since Yugi had to deal with a fair amount of darkness due to the gift from Dartz, he was slowly gaining the similarities to his darker half. Also, because Atemu does not have a physical body of himself, the essence of his soul was slowly mixing with Yugi's. Thus allowing the two to merge, but at the moment there's still some differences that would set them apart.
Dartz's gift. In the show, it just should Atemu taking a hit from the darkness, but it never did tell what happened to it afterwards. I don't believe anyone taking all ten thousand years of darkness still be the same. That's about it for this chapter's explanation.
