Chapter 3-- Questions and Problems

Yami's POV...December 10, that evening......

I read the numbers that ran across the digital clock. The time was 7:00, on the dot. I sighed and let my eyes follow around the room, it was big, bigger then Yugi's thats for sure. A lot more valuables in it as well, trophies lined against the wall, a few pictures here or there...but none of you. And thats when my eyes fell to you, staring at you as you slept.

You really freaked me out, you know that Kaiba?

Of course you dont. I sighed deeply and put my elbows on your bed, resting my head on my hands. Watching you as your chest moved slowly up and down. Trailing my eyes up to meet your closed ones I took a long glance at your face. You were beautiful....I couldn't help but think that. Your mouth was opened slightly, as breathe escaped from your lips.

Badump-Badump-Badump

I could feel my heart beeting inside me chest, I could literally feel it. As if I were holding it out in front of me, watching it. Why was it doing this? Beating so deeply like this...what could it be? Love? No, Yugi said that if you loved someone your heart would be racing. Which mine was not. It was beating a deep slow, I couldn't describe it...I couldn't feel it.

I watched you again as another breathe escaped your parted lips. It may not be love, but I couldn't control what my body was doing. Slowly I stood, moving half my body onto the bed. By Ra, what was I doing? My head moved so close to yours, centimeters above from it. Your warm breathe swept across my face. I closed my eyes, as my lips slowly closed the centimeter gap between yours.....then you stirred. My eyes widened and I quickly backed off, sitting back onto my chair.

"Mmm..." You moaned slighlty, as your blue eyes opened partially. Oh Ra, I was thanking him for stopping me. So close, it was so close, but not close enough...

Then you looked to me, confused, "Y-Yami........?" You asked, your deep blue eyes looking into mine.

It's like I was tranced, but I quickly shook my head to straighten my thoughts.

"Yes, it's me." You looked around, I guess it finally hit that you were in your room. Which you had got to in my arms, though I could not have you knowing that.

"How did I get here....? Wait! What time is it!?"

"It's about 7:12 why?" I saw you gasp as you shot straight up in bed. Quickly tossing the white sheet off your body, you ran, quickly getting yourself fully clothed. And grabbed your suit case, the one that Mokuba had been carying all the time for you. I stood, my eyes still wide. Had you not noticed what I had just tried to do to you? Did you not care that I brought you here in my arms and waited by your bedside? Was I just a simple bump in your road Kaiba?

"Kaiba?" I found myself calling your name. You stopped before your hand reached the knob.

"What do you want Yami?" That tone in your voice was so, so cold. Could you really be that heartless?

"Nothing..." You rolled your eyes and headed out the door. I could hear as your footsteps moved quickly down the hall. Then, the faint slam of the front door.

And you left....As if I was never there in the first place....

Kaiba's POV....

Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit!!! Oh Seto you've really fucked up now, how could I have been so stupid!? Man, that meeting today was at 4:30, thats what my damn phone call was all about before I........Wait before I what? I stopped on the sidewalk, about 30 feet away from Kaiba Corp. Before I what.....? What happend out there, I remember talking to Yugi...No, Yami. Then the celephone...then darkness? Did I do what I think I did...?

"Oh who cares!!" I screamed to myself and started running again. I dont care what happened, or why the hell Yami was in my room! The only thing that did was getting to Kaiba Corp. and praying to God that this will all blow over and those executive bastards will be a little forgiving. Oh great me asking for pity!? Ugh, what is going on with me these days? Quickly shaking away my thought I threw myself through the doors of Kaiba Corp. Running up to the meeting room where I was supposed to be about 2 hours 42 minutes and 37 seconds ago!........Now why the hell am I failing school if I can do that!?

Bursting through the doors I gave a relived sigh as I saw the CEO of Tech Corp. from America standing there looking out the window. I faked a cough to get him to notice me. And it worked, the man took his glaze off the window to stare at me. Though the gaze was not friendly...I guess I shouldn't say 'Hi how ya doing, waiting long?' I tried to hold in a laugh as I stared at the man.

"Good your finally here, " Well, obviously, but then again I couldn't say that either. He again stared out the window and continued, "Mr. Kaiba, as I look around Domino I see a great city. Filled with great people, people able to do wonderful things!.......But the thing that attracted me the most, the thing that I heard made Domino great! Was this right here."

Did this guy take crack before coming into my building? I gave him a confused look and he shifted his whole body to face me.

"This Kaiba, Kaiba Corp, your corperation."

"Well thats very flattering sir, but if you dont mind could we get to the point?"

He chuckled softly, "Yes indeed we will Kaiba. You and I both have the same type of job, so I can understand the 'straight to the point' attitude. And even though two people have a simmilarity, that doesn't mean they dont have difference."

Whatever old man, if you can understand my attitude then respect it and get to the point!...Good thing I didn't say that.

"The difference is that you are more well known then I," I gave him my, 'confused as hell' look now, " Kaiba, I've heard the talk, bragging, gossip about you. And I used to think thats all it was, that is until I studied you more. I know you've had a troubled past and are very young to have a stressing job like this. But I came here with great hopes...hopes with the joining of our two companies, like we've talked about before."

"Yes sir, I am aware that your a famous company in America. And of the hopes that we would combine our companies...so is there a problem?" I saw him as he sat down in the chair, pulling out his breifcase he took out various papers and looked over them.

"Actually there is."

Shit! "What would that be?"

"Your company specializes in the making of holographic inventions to the game of Duel Monsters right?" I nodded, " Well I've looked over your new invention to an upgrade of your latest Duel Disk. Which I have to say I was very impressed with during your Tournament. Anyway...this latest model...it's just not as good as the others. To make it simple...for an upgrade, it's pretty lowsy."

"E-Excuse me? Lowsy...? In what way might I ask?" Now I'm starting to get pissed.

"Thats not just it....I've heard that your performance has been slipping. Not the top-notch work you were once doing, late for meetings, I even hear you've been failing school."

What!? Okay old man needs to stay out of my life! "Technically I'm not failing, just been busy with work. And as for the meeting today...that was due to some...ummm...trouble that does not need to be explained."

He gave me a short confused glance of his own, and then opened his big mouth to speak again, "Anyway...Since this huge inncodent had occured I've been rethinking our partnership. However..I will make this to a Good news Bad news situation."

I narrowed my eyes, almost to a glare, "Explain."

"The Good news is that I'm giving you 1 week. 1 week to change my mind, and if not, I'll be leaving back to America as soon as your time limit is up."

Now I had a glare on him, "And the bad news?"

"The Bad news Mr. Kaiba is that....with the support of other people inside both our companies.......that if my mind is not changed...................then you resign as CEO."

For some reason I've gone beyond the pissed level, to homocidal anger level. The nerve of this man! He thinks he can come to another country and start questioning other peoples' jobs!? I wont allow it!

"Resign.......?" I managed to ask.

"Yes I'm sorry."

"Fuck you!! No your not! You can not just give me a time limit to my own job! I.Wont.Let.You!! Did you even think what could happen if I did resign!? Remember my life is not the only one at stake, my little brother is still here too ya know!!"

He put his hand up to silence me, and even though I wanted to rip his throat out I let him talk. "I know that, dont be so dramatic your a talented young man you can find another job easy, if it comes to that. Now, if you'll sit down and let me explain some of this Seto-"

"Dont call me that! You've got no right to call me that!!"

"Fine...Kaiba please-"

"No!" I cut his off again, "I've heard enough, if you dont mind I've got some work to do and a little brother to go home to!!" I turned to leave. As I did I heard him mumble again that I've got 1 week. I fought the erge to flip him off and stormed quickly to the exit.

This is a very, very big problem.
