Chapter2: Who is he?
By Yami Kitsune
Malik cursed as he punched the wall for the fifth time and then started pacing again. Malik and Yugi had come back to the warehouse to find it empty, either Ryou had gone off on his own or he was taken. Malik didn't think Ryou would run off on his own because Ryou didn't know his way around town that much. The little silver haired vampire had always stayed in the warehouse.
"K'so! Where the hell could he be?!" Malik yelled and kicked a crate this time.
"Calm down Malik. I'm sure he's fine, we could go out and look for him if you're so worried." Yugi suggested. He knew Ryou had been wanting to get out of the warehouse for some time now, but he had never told Malik that.
"We can't go look for him Yugi! The sun will be up in about three hours!" Malik snapped at him.
"Look, Ryou is smarter then you give him credit for. He might not go hunting for him self all that often-"
"He doesn't go hunting at all!" Malik cut him off harshly. By now Yugi was getting fed up with Malik.
"Ok fine, he doesn't go hunting for him self. But that doesn't mean he is not smart enough to find a safe place to stay until night fall!" Malik was shocked at the harshness in Yugi's words. He had seen Yugi angry before, but it had always been aimed at someone else. It was very different to be on the resaving end of the little one's anger.
"I know Yugi-I just worry about him." Malik sighed and sat down next to the little vampire. Yugi wrapped his arms around Malik.
"He will be fine. Let's get some sleep and if he's not back by tonight then we will go look for him ok?" Yugi asked looking up into the violet eyes. Malik nodded and they started to get ready for bed.

Ryou slowly opened his eyes to stare at the ceiling. *Where am I?* he wondered as he sat up slowly and looked around. He was in a dark room with one small window near the ceiling. Ryou figured he was in a basement or something. Ryou got up off the bed and stretched his wings a bit. He winced as his broken wing moved. Ryou had to get out of here so he could get that fixed.
He looked around and spotted a door on the other side of the room. He ran over to it and tried to open it, but it was locked form the outside. Ryou kicked the door like it was its fault it was locked then turned around and looked around the room again. Ryou guessed the only way out was threw the door, witch he couldn't get out no matter how hard he tired, and the window.
Ryou walked over to it and frowned. It was really small, but if he tried hard enough he could squeeze out. He climbed up to the window and was about to climb out when the first morning light hit his eyes. He cried out and covered his eyes falling back down on the floor.
Wondering what had happened Marik and Bakura came into the room. They saw Ryou still on the floor still covering his eyes. Bakura looked confused and glanced at Marik. Marik looked at the small vampire crying on the floor and then up at the window that the sun was just coming through.
It didn't take him long to put two and two together. He cursed and went over to Ryou. He knelt down next to him. Ryou hissed when Marik tried to pull one of his hands away from his face. Marik looked up at Bakura who was now standing next to him.
"Bakura go get some cold water and a cloth." Marik said before turning back to Ryou. Bakura hesitated for a moment, but did what he was asked when Marik glared at him.
Bakura came back with the water and cloth. He handed them to Marik and stood back and watched. Marik had calmed Ryou down enough so he could move Ryou's hands away from his face. Bakura winced when he saw that Ryou's eyes had been burned from the sun. Marik gently pressed the cold cloth over Ryou's eyes.
Ryou was calming down more as the burning stopped. Marik looked back over at Bakura.
"Bakura, could you get something to cover that window?" Bakura nodded and went to get a peace of wood or something to cover it. He came back with an old part to a drape. Marik nodded
"That will be perfect." Marik lifted Ryou up and put him back on the bed. "Keep the cloth you your eyes other wise they will just start to hurt again." Ryou nodded and held his own hand to hold the cloth. Marik sat down on the bed and Bakura sat down in the chair next to the bed when he was done blocking the window.
"So I guess this little guy can't go out in the sun?" Bakura asked looking at Marik. Marik shook his head and looked at Ryou who was slowly taking the cloth away from his eyes.
"Feel better?" Marik asked. Ryou nodded slowly and handed the cloth back to Marik. Marik took it and noticed that Ryou's hands were shaking badly.
"It's al; right, you don't have to be afraid of us. Were not going to hurt you." Marik reassured him. Ryou swallowed. He had heard that many times before, and last time he heard someone say that, he had lost his best friend. Ryou started shaking more his eyes wide with terror.
"Looks like you don't have a way with kids." Bakura teased. Marik shot him a glare.
"Like you could do any better?"
"I never said I could. But I think I know someone how is." Bakura smiled and looked at the door where Yami was now standing. Ryou now backed up into the corner of the bed not knowing what to do. There were three hunters standing right here. *Why aren't they killing me? Do they want me to get to Yugi and Malik!?* Ryou thought franticly. *I will not let them get my friends!* Ryou's mind screamed. He was just about to jump on Bakura's back and try to make a break for it when a wave of dizziness and pain hit him.
Ryou groaned and healed his stomach. Then he remembered, he hadn't eaten any thing all night. Ryou closed his eyes tight to try and fight off the hunger. This had happened one other time, and Ryou had gone on a killing spree, after that he had promised never to hunt again. But last night he thought it was about time he got over his fears and hunt again. And look where it got him.
Yami, Bakura and Marik turned back to Ryou to see what was wrong with him. Marik cursed under his breath. Bakura and Yami looked at him.
"What's wrong with him?" Yami asked stepping into the room. Marik tried to put a hand on Ryou's shoulder, but the little vampire just hit it away. Marik didn't give up though; he put his hand on Ryou's shoulder and waited for him to hit it away again. But he didn't, Marik closed his eyes and concentrated, his eyes shot open and he cursed again.
"What?" Yami and Bakura asked at the same time.
"He hasn't had any thing to sense who knows when." Marik told them not looking away from Ryou. Now it was Yami and Bakura's turn to curse. They had seen many bloodthirsty vampires before, and they always seemed to be the hardest to kill. Marik looked up at them.
"We have to get him some blood before he goes on a killing spree." Marik told them. Yami and Bakura didn't know where to get any blood fast enough.
"Go get Joey. He's immune to a vampires bite." Bakura got up to go get the blond. Marik watched as Bakura left then turned back to look at Ryou.
"You have to tell me. When was the last time you ate any thing?" Marik asked. Ryou looked at him his eyes flashed red.
"Please you have to tell me." Marik said. Ryou had to think, he was trying to concentrate on not going crazy and now this person who looked like Malik was asking him to tell him when the last time he ate was. He held up two fingers.
"Two nights ago?" Ryou nodded and held his stomach tighter. `Not good, not good, not good.' Ryou thought over and over. Marik looked up at the door when Bakura and Joey came in.
"You want me to do WHAT?!" Joey asked staring at Bakura in shock.
"Look you're the only one here immune to a vampires bite. And if this little guy goes on a killing spree in are house, how many of us do you think will make it out alive?" Yami snapped. Joey sighed.
"Fine." `It wouldn't be the first time this has happened.' He thought as he rolled up his leave and sat on the bed. He held his wrist out in front of Ryou who's eyes went wide. Ryou stared up at Joey in shock. He grabbed Joey's wrist with a shaky hand and slowly brought it to his mouth.
Joey was surprised when Ryou sank his little fangs into his wrist as gently as he possibly could. Joey had never known a vampire to be so gentle before. Ryou slowly started sucking Joey's blood. He didn't want to take too much; he didn't want to kill this human. Ryou started fighting with himself again. Part of him wanted to hang onto this human's wrist and feed on him until he was dead, and the other part of him was telling him to let go now before it was to late.
Joey felt Ryou's body start shaking all over. He started at Ryou trying to figure out what was wrong.
*Please, I don't want to hurt you!* Joey heard someone yell in his mind. He realized it must be Ryou.
"What's wrong?" Joey asked and every one started at him wondering what he was talking about.
*Please! Pull away! I can't stop!* Ryou said franticly. Joey pulled his wrist back Ryou tried to jump after it but stopped himself.
"Feel better?" Marik asked Ryou who nodded slowly before scooting back to the corner of the bed and started at ever one in the room.
"Good. I'll be back latter to talk." Marik told every one it was probably better to let Ryou rest now and they could talk to him latter that night. Ryou waited until every one had left before he aloud himself to sleep.
