Vampire story

Chapter 8: Malik joins the group

Malik woke up early that night; he was worried about both Yugi and Ryou now. He knew it wasn't Yugi's fault that the hunter had seen them. Even if he was the one to fall out of the tree. That could have happened to either one at any time. It just happened at the wrong time.

He walked out of the warehouse and took off. He knew where Ryou was, and maybe if he talked to the hunters and explained to them that Ryou hadn't done any thing they would let him go.

He got to the house and found that it was empty. He couldn't sense any one in it, and they had taken Ryou with them where ever they had gone.

"Damn." Malik sighed his shoulders slumped as he leaned back on the branch he was sitting int. Where would they have taken Ryou? Malik wished Yugi was here now; he was better at sensing where people, and vampires were. That's how all three of them had survived for so long. They were a team, and one little argument had changed all of that.

Bakura sat next to Ryou who was lying on the couch. His burns were looking a little better then they had before. Every one else had gone to bed, but Bakura wanted to stay with Ryou incase he woke up. He didn't want the little vampire to try and run out again, especially with Tristen still out there.

Yugi stayed in the corner and watched the way Bakura was looking at Ryou. He had seen that look before; he saw it one night when he and Malik had gone out hunting. It was about a year before they had met Ryou. They had attacked a couple walking in the park, the couple were holding hands and they each had that same look in their eyes.

Yugi left the corner he was standing in and slowly walked over to Bakura. Bakura turned and looked at him before looking back at Ryou.

"Why did you hunters help him? Why didn't you kill him like you're supposed to?" Yugi asked sitting next to Bakura.

"I don't really know why…I always thought all vampires were supposed to be evil. Then we found Ryou, and he seemed more frightened of us then we ever were of any vampire." Bakura sighed.

"Ryou always did have that affect on people. He even made friends with a human one time, Malik was a little mad because of that…" Yugi stopped when he realized he had said his friends' name. Bakura looked at him.

"Malik…that's the other one right? The one you two live with?" Yugi nodded and looked down.

"I shouldn't have mentioned him…he's the one who has taken care of me and Ryou, it took me a while to learn how to hunt by my self and Malik is the one who taught me. We have been trying to teach Ryou, but he doesn't want to learn how."

"Why? I thought that's the only way you little one's could live?"

"It is, but Ryou still doesn't like to kill. You see when he was first changed into a vampire…he couldn't control his hunger and started killing every human in site. That's how me and Malik found him, we had to keep him locked up for months…or was it years?"

"You can't tell the difference any more?"

"I can…its just when you have to keep someone locked up for so long, you and them loose track of time. Ryou has only been out for the past 50 or 60 years." Bakura looked back at the sleeping vampire.

"He doesn't look that old, more like he's 14 or 15."

"That's when he was changed. I was changed around the same age." Bakura looked at him with wide eyes.

"You look more like your 10!"

"Yeah I know…but if I were only 10 years old then I would not have survived. You see it is against vampire law that any one under the age of 15 is to be changed…and even that has changed."

"Why."

"Pegasus thought that the children vampires where getting to be to many so he ordered that all of them were killed and that no more where to be made…"

"How did you three survive?"

"We stayed together that's how. We worked together to keep each other safe…"

"You all seem like good friends." A new voice said. Yugi jumped and looked behind him to see Yami standing there.

"We are…"

"How long you been there Yami?"

"Long enough." Yami said walking over to them. "I heard you two talking and it sounded interesting." He said and gave Yugi a smile.

Tristen looked around as he was led to his new room at Pegasus's castle. There were lots of old artifacts and other stuff. Most of it looked like it was from Egypt. His first thought was that Marik would have loved most of this stuff, seeing as he was from Egypt and loved to see and get stuff from his homeland.

"This will be your room." Tristen nodded his thanks to the vampire and watched her leave. He looked around the room; it was pretty fancy if not a bit dark.

"You like it?" A new voice said. Tristen looked over to one of the black drapes to see another female vampire standing there. She smiled at him showing her two fangs.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Master Pegasus didn't tell you about me? I'm surprised, he usually tells all his new human slaves about me before he brings them home."

"Well he didn't tell me. Now mind telling me who you are and what you are doing in my room?" Tristen snapped crossing his arms over his chest.

"Oh, master Pegasus got a feisty on this time." She smiled and stepped toward him.

"I just don't like vampires all that much." He glared.

"Then why did you come here?"

"My friends have taken in a vampire and they wont let me do away with it. And I want them to pay for that. And they never listen to my ideas about how to kill vampires." Tristen said and walked over to the bed sitting down.

"Well you can tell me." The vampire said and sat down next to him.

"I will tell you on one condition, you help me kill my friends using my plans."

"That wont be any problem." She smiled. "By the way My name is Tea."

"That is an interesting name."

"Hey at least it is better then yours!" She snapped while glaring at him.

"I never said it wasn't, in-fact I think it would be a lot better then mine he smiled. Tea giggled. Tristen couldn't believe what he was doing, he was sitting here talking and laughing with a vampire.

After sunset Malik had taken to the sky. He was going to find Yugi and Ryou tonight. He had to, he had just gotten word that Pegasus had come back to this town, and he had to get them out of here as fast as he could. That was the one vampire they never wanted to meet face to face.

Pegasus always had this grudge against humans. Malik never knew why, but he didn't want to meet up with him to find out.

Malik sighed as he landed on a rooftop. He had searched the entire city and no sign of the two. The only other place they could have gone in such short time was the woods. But why would the hunters take Ryou to the woods? Unless Yugi did get Ryou out of that house and that was where they went to hide. Malik took off again, he was close, he could feel it.

Ryou slowly opened his eyes; the first thing he realized was he was no longer chained to the wall. The second thing he realized was, when he tried to move it felt like his whole body was on fire. Ryou tried to sit up any way; he wanted to know where he was now. He let out a yelp when he moved too much and it felt like he was going to burst into flame any second.

At hearing Ryou, Yugi came running back in from the kitchen. He smiled when he saw his friend awake.

"Ryou!" Yugi said happily and ran over to his friend. He gave him a genital hug, trying not to hurt his burns worse. Yami and Bakura came in to see what all the fuss was about. They smiled when they saw Ryou awake

"How you feeling little one?" Yami asked. Ryou looked at him like he was still a little frightened.

"I'm feeling better then I was…" Ryou answered any way. If they hadn't killed him yet, and Yugi was here then they couldn't be all that bad.

"I'll get some more water for your burns." Bakura said and disappeared into the kitchen. He came back a moment later with another bowl of water and a cloth. He sat down and dipped the cloth into the water then pressed it to Ryou's arm. Ryou sighed as the cold cloth touched his burns.

"I wish Malik were here. He could heal me…" Ryou whispered under his breath. The next few minuets were spent in silence. Every one looked at Yugi when he gasped and jumped up. A smile slowly made its way onto his face and he ran to the door.

"Yugi wait! What's up?" Yami called after him, but Yugi had already taken to the sky. Bakura and Yami exchanged glances before looking at Ryou who looked equally confused.

"I am guessing you have no clue what that was about?" Bakura asked. Before Ryou could even shake his head no Yugi came back, with Malik.
