Chapter 1

Seto walked his way into the school entering the main hall. He walked the same way everyday, right past Jounochi's locker, this usually gave him time to pick on the Mutt. Although, today as he walked by, Seto couldn't help but get a weird feeling that Jou wasn't all that well off. For one, when you're sitting against your locker with a dazed look in the eye and sweat pouring down your forehead, it's not a great thing. As Seto watched though, Jounochi picked himself up, and slowly made his way down the hall. Only to stop dead about halfway there and fall like a rock to the floor. Seto's body moved as though on it's own accord and soon, he was dragging Jounochi to the nurse's office, and from there he was brought to the hospital with Jounochi. Not long after all the Mutt's little friends were let out of class to come bid him get wells and such. Only Yugi and Seto stayed really. "When's his mother supposed to be here?" Seto asked.

"She won't be, she lives too far away and he doesn't live with her," Yugi replied. "And his dad won't be coming in either. That's why I'm staying put."

"You've met his father before, huh?," Seto asked. "Is he one of those ones that are telling him to suck it up all the time?"

"No, he's worse, a drinker and drug user. His dad's hot- tempered too and takes a lot of it out on him," Yugi whispered. "Calls him mean things, threw Jou into the dinning room table once. He's done worse too, nearly killed him several times over."

"Why doesn't he tell anyone?," Seto asked, though knowing the answer.

"Can't trust anyone really, doesn't have anyone he can trust to tell it too, except for me and even then he holds back." Yugi replied.

'And here I thought he was pretty well off in his life...' Seto thought to himself.

At this moment, Jounochi began to stir and was soon awake, but didn't set up. Yet, he gave a blank questioning stare at Kaiba and Yugi. "Who are you guys?," Jounochi muttered.

However, before being able to utter the answer the two were ushered out into the waiting room. Soon, the doctor came in telling them that the tests run on Jou didn't bring any proof whatsoever except that he had a slim chance of living. "This thing is seemingly wiping clean his memory right now, whatever it maybe." The doctor told them.

"Like a computer virus?" Seto asked.

"Actually, exactly like that in almost everyway, but, a computer virus enter a human body, it's impossible." The doctor reassured.

Seto wasn't quite sure that that was true. He immediately went home to do a quick scan. "Computer scan virtual reality pods for virus infections." Seto commanded.

"Right away, Kaiba," His computer replied. "One virus found, Kaiba, but it passed through into a secondary system."

"When?" Seto demanded.

"The day you were testing the newest one." The computer replied.

"Darn it, there has to be a way to get it out of there!" Seto scolded.

"Whatever it is you're trying to find, why not go in and find it?" Mokuba replied, indicating his arrival from school.

"That's a perfect idea, Mokuba!," Seto responded before running into his usual workshop and locking the door.

By later that night, he had the helmet made and ready to go. If this worked right, two people would be able to enter the most complex computer in the world, the human mind.
