Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Wake Up ❯ Wake Up ( Chapter 1 )
Me: okay, this is my first song fic, so I'll try to make it interesting
Ryou: Well, compared to your first fic, it can't get much worse…
Me: -.-; quite you…
Yugi: I'll do the disclaimer! Me! Pick me!
Me: riiight… fine then…
Yugi: YAY! Ok, Ryou-chans girl does not own the song, Wake Up, Alanis Morissette Does. Or Yu-Gi-Oh characters, though I'm sure she wouldn't mind, so please don't sue her^^;
Me: Thanks, Yugi. Now we just need someone to do the warning…
*Bakura walks in*
Me: Yay! Okay, you can do the warning, Baku-kun^^
Bakura: humm? WHAT?! Screw you…
Warning: Ryou gets beat up… by me^^ ah ha ha ha ha!
Ryou: O.o; whaaaat? *turns to me*I thought you liked me?!
Me: I do, koi. But I also like to beat you up. ^^ Oh yeah. I refer to Yami Bakura as Bakura, regular Bakura as Ryou, and I think that's all…yeah, and it's all in Ryou's P.O.V.
Ryou: --; just get on with the fic. No one reads the author's notes anyway.
Me: meanie…Lyrics are in Italics
Wake Up
I slammed against the wall. The beatings my Yami gave out were never dull. I raised my head in time to see Bakura pull out his favourite knife. It had ancient hieroglyphs inscribed on one side, and a leather handle.
"Come here, hikari. I'm not done."
You like snow, but only if it's warm
You like rain, but only if it's dry
No sentimental value for the rose that fell on your floor
No fundamental excuse for the granted I'm taken for
'Cause it's easy not to
So much easier not to
And what goes around never comes around to you
"P-please, Yami-sama. Please stop." Every night I went through this. Yami would come out of the ring. And beat me until he was satisfied with his work.
"You know, the more you whine, the longer this goes on. And I keep my word." The faint light reflected off his silver blade. My eyes widened. He picked me up by my collar and threw me into the coffee table. I heard my leg break underneath me. I knew if I started to yell or cry, he might never let up.
"Pitiful, worthless creature. You don't even deserve to be cut by this knife. It was the one that sealed me in the ring, after all. The whole reason I'm here." I felt a surge of hatred towards that knife. How come Bakura was sealed in this item, and not another?
You like pain, but only if it doesn't hurt too much
You sit…and you wait…to receive
There's an obvious attraction to the path of least resistance in your life
There's an obvious aversion no amount of my insistence
Could make you try tonight
He pressed the cold blade into my arm. My eyes were squeezed tight to avoid screaming. Bakura slowly removed it and stabbed my other arm before he was satisfied.
"Humph. See you tomorrow, hikari." He said the last word with a sneer, and disappeared into the ring. I started to cry uncontrollably, when an unexpected visitor rang the doorbell. I reluctantly sat up and quickly bandaged my arms.
"Ryou? Are you there?" It was Yugi's voice.
"It's open, Yugi." He carefully opened the door. "Come in."
'Cause it's easy not to
So much easier not to
And what goes around never comes around to you
"Sure. Hey, what happened to your arms? Or do I have to ask?"
"Yeah, Bakura again. I wish he would just disappear into the ring forever" Yugi's eyes met mine.
"Ryou, if you don't go to a hospital, or tell anyone, I'm going to." He looked determined.
I pulled myself onto the couch. "I will, eventually. But if he finds out, then I probably wouldn't live out anther beating. Not while he's like that anyway." A tear rolled down my
shadowed cheek. Why did it have to be like this? At least I have Yugi to talk to.
But it's easier not to
So much easier not to.
And what goes around never comes around to you
To you, to you
Yugi started to cry. "R-Ryou, when are you going to tell someone? At least come to the hospital with me!"
I'm sorry, Yugi. I-I can't. They would want to know what had happened, and I only told you because, well, I knew you wouldn't tell anyone."
Yugi closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Ryou, but if this goes on any longer, I'm going to have to. This shouldn't even be a secret." Yugi bit his lip and studied my face.
Get up, get up, get up off it
"I would, but…I just can't. Please don't tell anyone."
Yugi sighed. "I'm…I'm sorry, Ryou. I can't keep that promise. You-you mean too much to me." He bowed his head.
Get up, get up, get up off it
"I know, Yugi. But you don't understand him. Once he's gone through me, he'll go after you. And you mean to much to me to let that happen." Ryou looked at Yugi for a response. "But I will go to the hospital. Just so they can bandage me up a bit better, okay?
Yugi looked up. "Really? You'll go?" I saw a smile start to spread across his face.
"Yeah, I should probably get going now."
"I'll go to." I smiled.
"Let's go." We walked out the door, careful to leave the ring behind. I held Yugi's hand as I leaned on him for support due to my leg. Maybe things would turn out after all.
Get out, get outta here, enough already
Get up, get up, get up off of it
Wake up
Me: That just sucked. But I am getting better, I have written three chapters of my new fic, so I won't be updating 'Hikari Ryou' for a while. Don't worry, this one doesn't suck, I really like it! A whole lotta shonen-ai in it to! ^^
Ryou: uhh, was that you attempting angst? You are in great need of practice…
Me: well, I've been writing quite a few one-shots, and I currently have two great stories going (not including Hikari Ryou), I just haven't typed them up…
Bakura: Review everyone ^^
