OKAY!HI!This is actually my first Yu-Gi-Oh fic so I hope it turns out good!This isn't a CYOA,as I'm sure a lot of you were hoping....but I think it's nice.It's the story of a girl named Brandi Hikari....though she's anything but a good spirit....I've portrayed her doing what I would've done in a certain situation,so you guys can understand me a little bit more!Haha!

Chapter 1:Desperation
"You can't be serious!?First you drag me away from all of my friends,to Japan of all places,tell me that I won't be seeing my dad for several years,due to the fact that he lives halfway across the globe,and now you expect me to wear this...this thing!?''Sage yelled.Her mother had had enough."Listen to me!Right now!Your stepfather and I both had really good job offers here,meaning we could afford a nicer home for you,a better neighborhood with better people,and this is what you do to repay our choice that was in your best intrest!?LISTEN HERE YOUNG LADY!This world doesn't revolve around you!It was our choice to come here,and all we had was you in mind!That is your school uniform,and you WILL wear it!Do you hear me,Brandi!?"
Sage was seething."My name is Sage...mother."
Sage knew better than to go any farther,but her pride and stubborness wouldn't allow it.Her mother slapped her right across the side of her face,leaving a bright red mark.''Your name is Brandi Hikari!I gave you that name,its on your school records,your birth certificate,insurance claims!Not Sage,that stupid little name your friends gave you!I don't care how many Duel Monsters championships you win,how many people call you North America's 'Sage of the Cards,'you can just forget everything that happened back there,your life is here in Japan now!!!Maybe now everywhere you walk you won't be asked for an interview,or a quote!"
Tears were coming to Sage's eyes,but she continued to glare.Her mother stormed from the room.Sage hands curled into fists and she brushed a strand of her long black-red hair from her eyes,face set with determination.She reached into the pocket of her big baggy maroon colored hoodie she wore and pulled out her favorite duel monster card,which always gave her hope for a better tomorrow."Hey there Wingweaver...I'm ready to get out of here and go for a walk or something...I need to get my mind off of mom...she just can't understand...better ask Allen first..."
Sage rubbed the sore spot on her face and strode out of her room and down the stairs of the two story house,pausing in the living room where her stepfather Allen was fixing up an entertainment center."Allen...can I go for a walk?"Allen looked up,suprised at Sage and noted the bright red mark on her cheek.He couldn't help but feel a little responisible for it."Yeah Sage...I'll talk to your mom..I guess she doesn't understand how difficult the change must be for a 15 year old girl.Don't worry though,Domino's a great place,I promise you'll love it in time.Maybe you should check out the high school?We've already got you enrolled,but we told them you'd be starting next week.I'm sure they'd let you stick around a few hours for a tour?"
Sage nodded gratefully at Allen."I think I'll do that...thanks Allen."She walked calmly out of the house and onto the sidewalk,leaving the side street her house was on and walking on a busier street towards the direction of the high school.
Sage looked at the sign that read 'Domino High.'She sighed and walked to the front door,opened it and entered the office.A lady at the front greeted her."Hello,how can I help you today?"Sage shuffled her feet."Umm I transfered here when I moved from America,I'm starting next week and I was wondering..."The lady clapped her hands and strode quickly around her desk."You want a tour?Oh of course!I'll take you around to one of the classes and find a good trustworthy student to show you around!You must be Brandi Hikari,the school's been wondering what the transfer student would be like!"
She quickly raised her hands in a nonoffensive manner."Oh no,could I possibly just look around a little bit?I don't want anyone to go through the trouble,really!I could just show myself around if that's ok!"The woman looked a bit disappointed but perked back up."Okay,you have about 20 minutes to look in on the classes,then its the lunch bell.You already have an account set up here,the number for it is 4550!"
Sage nodded and turned out the door.'Glad I don't have to be shown around by a student...they'd probably pick some little preppy person or a nerd who think's he's funny...'she thought.Sage wandered down the hall,finding that the teachers left the doors open during class,making it easier to look in.She found nothing that interested her,until she found the classroom at the end of the hallway.Apparently it was some kind of study hall/free time,as there wasn't a teacher to be seen.Some students were sitting on desks chatting,others playing games of duel monsters.
Sage walked in and looked around a bit,the class growing quiet.Sage glared and they returned to their business.She checked her watch and found that there were ten minutes until lunch,so she took a seat at an empty desk at the back.A group of people walked over to her.The first two were boys,both tall,one with blonde hair and one with brown hair,the second was a girl with medium length brown hair and a joyful smile,and the last 2 both had strange tricolored hair,blonde,black,and red.
(By the way...in this...Yugi and Yami have seperate bodies...and do Ryou bakura and Bakura...and Marek and his Yami Malek...)
The shorter of the strange haired boys introduced himself and the others."Hi,I haven't seen you here before!My name's Yugi,this is Yami,Tristan,Joey and Tea!"She really didn't want any company,but she managed a small,fake smile."Hi."Tea smiled at Sage."What's your name?"Sage face faulted a bit,if any one person in this room knew who she was,they'd automatically start complementing her on her dueling strategy and get everyone in an uproar.
"That's really irrelevant right now."
Joey looked confused."Huh?Whaddya mean?"Sage shook her head."It doesn't matter."A hand grasped her arm and she looked up into the face of a rather big guy."Hey baby...I see your new around here... let me teach you some things..."Sage's eyes went wide and Tea looked really pissed."Whoa buddy that was really rude!I suggest you apologize to her right now!"Tea fumed.The guy kept his hold on Sage's arm."Hey!I'm talking to this chick so back off!"A boy with dark brown hair that had originally been reading a book looked up."Shut up you idiot.Some of us are trying to get some work done."
Joey shouted,"Shat yer yap,'Seto'!We've got bigger things to worry about!Like dis jerk who won't let go of what's her face!"The boy pulled on Sage's arm and jerked her up out of her chair.Sage's face flamed in anger."You jackass...I suggest you let go or you'll be in a world of pain."The guy laughed and Tristan backed up,sweatdropping."Uhhh miss he's twice your size...and twice our size for that matter!"
Sage used her other hand and jerked his wrist back,then swept her leg into his stomach,sending him back into a wall.He cringed in pain as a mountain of books fell down over him.The others in the room started laughing,as he'd just been beat up by a girl.Sage loomed over him."Don't say I didn't warn you,idiot."She walked away,back to the others,who were staring in shock,as was the one named Seto.
Yami and Yugi both looked very confused.Yami whispered to Yugi,"Remind me never to get her angry."Yugi simply nodded.Tristan and Joey,however were congratulating her."Hey dat was awesome!"said Joey."Yeah really wicked!"said Tristan.Tea smiled."Usually I don't approve of violence but that guy had it coming!Way to go!"
Sage let her guard down just a little.Maybe these guys weren't so bad.But still,they were living human beings..."Don't get so excited over that,I could've done much worse,"she said.She walked over to the doorway,preparing to go home."By the way..my real name is Brandi Hikari...but NEVER call me that.If you're going to talk to me,the name's Sage."
And with that,she left.
Yugi stopped and thought for a minute."Hey,that name sounds familiar,doesn't it Yami?"Yami nodded and sat down."Yes,it does.Thats because she's America's infamous 'Sage of the Cards'.She's the top ranked duelist there...that is,WAS before she came to Japan."Joey looked pretty excited about that."That's awesome!A top ranked girl duelist!She could go pretty far!"A cough broke in on his parade."Yeah but if you ask me she's got the personality of an ice queen."said Tea.Tristan clapped her on the back."Hey she'll warm up eventually,just give her time!"
Seto Kaiba got up from his desk."Whatever,I'm going home to do my work.There's too much noise here."He glared at the quintet and strode from the room like a million dollar CEO...oh wait that's what he is isn't it?

Sage leaned up against the tree outside of the schools front door.She hadn't even spent a school day there and she already didn't care much for it.
Of course she WOULD have had to give them her name.Now everyone in school Monday would be sure to crowd her.Wondeful,just wonderful.
She sighed and stretched a bit,then turned to rejoin her feet with the sidewalk.However,her small journey was interrupted as she ran into someone,sending them both to the ground."Moron,watch where you're going!"a harsh voice said.Sage shook her head and cleared her vision."Whatever,watch where YOU are walking you stupid--...hey you're that Seto guy.Oh well,I'll continue anyways.You stupid arrogant haughty good for nothing lousy inconsiderate jerk-levant!"
