Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ You Know Your Right ❯ One Shot ( Chapter 1 )
Well, this was on fanfiction, but I wanted to see how it did here. Please enjoy.
I don't own Yu Gi Oh or Nirvana's "You Know Your Right"

The warm, salty breeze blew gently against their skin as the two stood on the hotel balcony. Even though their bodies were close together, an uneasy feeling kept them apart.
"Jonouchi," She said in a whisper dripped with sorrow and a hint of regret. "I don't think we can work out. We need to end this."
(I will never bother you)
An uneasy silence surrounded the two as Mai held back her tears.
(I will never promise to)
She squeezed his hand and gave a forced smile.
"It was fun though."
He almost retched at her words.
(I will never follow you)
Jonouchi nodded instead and quickly pulled away from her loose grip.
"I guess I'll leave then," He turned a little, this time the words were bitter. "I hope you find a better toy."
(I will never bother you)
The glass door opened and closed. Neither could bring themselves to look at the other's reaction.
The tears Mai had been holding back broke loose. She gripped the railing for slight
support as she sunk to the floor in a heap. Her face was a mess of running makeup and thousands of tears.
(Never say a word again,
I will crawl away for good)
Jonouchi stumbled through the darkened room and slowly recovered his things off the royal blue and white carpet. His eyes drifted to the disheveled bed, full of tangled sheets and the past creaks and moans. A question that had been haunting him came back suddenly.
Had she just been using him?
(I won't move away from here,
You won't be afraid of fear.
No thought was put into this,
Always knew it would come to this.)
He finally summoned the courage to look out the sliding door's window. The sight slumped figure stabbed him in the heart, but the pain was swiftly replaced with hatred. The glass distorted her slender body. This is how he would remember her.
A wave of mixed emotion hit him as he turned the doorknob. He ignored it and stepped out. Something soft under his sneaker covered feet caused him to look down.
Out o habit, he picked up the daily newspaper and walked towards the elevator.
(Things have never been so swell,
I have never failed to fail.)
Before the doors could close, a man slipped in.
"Whew! That was close." The man said cheerfully while pulling out a cigarette.
Jonouchi remained unaffected by the man's joyful nature.
The numbers representing the floor's began to fly by and each seemed to scream….
(Pain….Pain….Pain….
You know you're right,
You know you're right,
You know you're right.)
The elevator at last opened again, releasing it's prisoners. Jonouchi stepped out as fast as he could. He put his free hand in his pocket. Honda's motorcycle keys were still there.
The metal flashed dully in the hotel's lobby lights.
Instead of going out to the borrowed motorcycle, he walked down to the beach and sat down on the once warm sand. The sun ahead was blood red and the ocean seemed to have calmed down.
Before closing his eyes, he took a seemingly forbidden look at the balcony.
(I'm so warm and calm inside,
I no longer have to hide.
There's talk about someone else,
Sterling silver begins to melt.)
Delightful and intimate voices aroused Jonouchi from his sleep. Dawn had begun to break and a few scattered seagulls swooped above.
He looked around. Another mixed emotion of hurt and anger rose inside him.
Drowning sounded like a good idea at the moment.
(Nothing really bothers her,
She just wants to love herself.)
Mai and the stranger from the elevator continued to dance around. Their feet weaved in and out of the waves. Their laughter rose above the ocean's roar. Their happiness broke into Jonouchi.
Their footprints began to fade as they were dragged away with the ocean's tide. Soon, they would be replaced.
(I won't move away from here,
You won't be afraid of fear.
No thought was put into this,
Always knew it would come to this.)
His grip on the newspaper became tighter. Everything seemed to fade before him.
(Things have never been so swell,
I have never felt so well.)
Everything would soon be replaced.
And while he sat there in a sober stupor, the seagulls screamed….
(Pain…..Pain…..Pain)
"You know you're right." He whispered along with the exited giggles.
(You know you're right,
You know you're right,
You know you're right……)
