Chapter 7: The Man from Egypt
Disclaimer: Nada, zippo, zilch.
Me: I see some people liked my original chapter. ^_^ That's good I worked hard on it. Anyway we're now back to the manga story.
Joey's Girl- You've never played any of the Final Fantasy games!? Ah well. Kingdom Hearts is cool too, I really loved the scene from the end credits where Aeris/Aerith and Cloud were reunited. (Yes I am Cloud/Aeris fan.)
Lynzben- Thanks for the review.
Amarin Rose- Thanks for saying Yuki is cool. Seriously in my opinion. Manga and anime need more main girls who can kick ass!
Random Person 3- Thanks for the review
Sarah the Demonness- Great the survival of another person is on my hands.
Me: On with the fic.
"Oh come on Joey. It will be fun. Please."
Earlier this morning Yuki, Mrs. Moto, and Solomon found out about the new Egyptian exhibit. Yuki was now trying to convince Joey, Tristan, and Miho to come. Miho decided to come but the girls were having trouble with the boys.
"Yuki, foreign stuff isn't really that interesting."
Then Tristan wrapped his arms around Joey's shoulder and smiled.
"Yeah to Joey, foreign stuff is boring unless it's food."
With that Joey put his best friend into a headlock.
Yuki sighed.
"Miho I hate to ask this but…"
"Way ahead of you."
Miho went to the boys and gave them her cutest look.
"Guys. Please go with us. It would mean so much."
Tristan then let Joey go and went straight to Miho.
"Anything for you Miho!"
`Well that was easy.' Thought Yuki
"Now Joey, it is only for one day."
Joey sighed.
"Fine."
"Hey Yuki. Isn't Egypt the place where your puzzle is from?" asked Miho
"Yup good ol' Millennium Puzzle."
"I was wondering Yuki, how come your Puzzle isn't in a museum?" asked Tristan
Yuki then seemed a little uncomfortable by the question.
"Yuki is there something you're hiding?" asked Joey
"Um well… the thing is… my grandpa told me that all the guys who found the Puzzle… died mysterious deaths."
In that instant, Joey went into his most immature mood, grabbed Yuki, and lifted her to his eye level.
"Yuki, you're alright? You're not cursed are you?"
"Joey I'm not cursed!"
"Eh forgive Joey. He's bit of a wuss."
Joey heard that and dropped Yuki who fell with a thud.
"Oof!"
"Who are you calling a wuss!?"
For the next 5 minutes, Joey and Tristan argued until Joey agreed to go to the museum just to prove he wasn't a coward.
So Friday came and went and Saturday came.
Tristan was wearing a baggy T-shirt with a red jacket and some dirty old blue jeans. Joey was wearing a sport Jacket that had the letter J on it. Finally Miho wore a pink peasant blouse, and dyed purple jeans, also she had her hair in a loose ponytail.
"Where's Yuki? I'm starting to get worried." Said Miho
"M-maybe the curse got her!" shouted Joey
Tristan and Miho sighed and looked away from Joey.
"That is humiliating." Said Tristan
"We don't know him." Said Miho
"Hey guys."
All three of them looked and saw Yuki, her grandfather, and Mrs. Moto.
Yuki was currently wearing a black sleeveless turtleneck and a leather black skirt that reached to her knees.
"Sorry we're late. I kind of lost one of my tennis shoes."
Solomon looked around as if he was looking for someone. Then a cheerful voice rang out.
"Moto!"
A man with clothing that had a few patches walked to the group and Solomon recognized the man.
"It's good to see you Solomon."
"Thank you for inviting us to your show."
Solomon then faced everyone.
"Everyone this is Professor Yoshimori. Professor Yoshimori, this is Mitsuko, Yuki and Yuki's friends."
"A pleasure to meet you all."
"Wow you're the guy who found the tomb!" said Joey
It was then everyone noticed man next to Professor Yoshimori.
"Oh Professor who's this?" asked Mrs. Moto
"Ah yes. This is the owner of the museum. He provided the grant for the excavation and is sponsoring the exhibit."
"Kanekura is the name! Welcome to my museum!"
Just then Kanekura noticed something shiny and gold.
"Th-this is the Millennium Puzzle!"
Mr. Kanekura rushed to Yuki, grabbed her puzzle, and nearly suffocated her.
"Such a important piece of Egyptian history and it's hanging around your neck!"
"Wha?"
"Yuki please you must give me this!"
"No way Jose!"
"Please only for one day and I promise you can have it back after museum closes."
"… Well… okay but just for one da… WAH!"
Mr. Kanekura instantly took Yuki's puzzle and smiled.
"Thank you very much young lady. I will only keep it for one day."
`Heh, heh one day is all I need.'
About two hours later everyone was checking out everything.
Joey and Tristan looked at the weapons, the girls were looking at the clothing and jewelry, and Solomon and Mrs. Moto chatted with Professor Yoshimori.
"Wow the Egyptians sure had good taste!" Said Miho
Yuki chuckled slightly about Miho's statement.
Just then Yuki saw a picture.
"Hey Professor what's this?"
Everyone walked to the picture and the Professor explained to everyone what it meant.
"This drawing is showing "The Weighing of the Heart" AKA The Judgment of the Dead. The judge is the god Osiris, that's Anubis on the left. He weighs the deeds of the dead man on the scale. If the scale falls on the side of good deeds, they pass onto the Afterlife. But if the Scale falls to the side of evil deeds, they are fed to Ammit, "The Devourer"."
"Ew!" shouted both girls
"Now over here we have the mummy."
Everyone but Joey followed the professor, Joey just stood there with his arms crossed.
"There is no way you're getting me to go there! I don't want to get cursed!"
Professor Yoshimori chuckled and walked to Joey.
As soon as Tristan saw the mummy, he instantly had a tiny naughty thought.
(A/N Not that naughty, sickos.)
Miho saw the mummy and screamed, she hugged Tristan and Tristan hugged her back. Miho looked into Tristan's eyes and blushed.
But then Tristan heard giggling and saw that what had just happen was his own thought.
"Wow that mummy looks neat!" said Miho
"It looks like he should be in Resident Evil or Silent Hill." Said Yuki
"Resident Evil maybe, Silent Hill no. Silent Hill screws with your head that mummy does not screw with your head." Said Miho
"Yeah you're right." Said Yuki
Tristan hung his head low with disappointment.
`She's been hanging out with Yuki too much.'
After everyone saw the mummy, they decided to look for Yuki's puzzle, but Yuki stayed behind.
"I wonder what he was like."
`He was a pompous ladies man.'
Yuki could have sworn she heard the voice of an older woman, she looked around but the voice just didn't seem to fit anyone of the women in the museum.
`Weird'
Just then Yuki noticed a strange Egyptian man, he wore a white robe and white turban and he had kind of creepy light blue eyes. Yuki noticed that the man was crying.
"Hey Mister, why are you crying?"
The man looked at Yuki then looked back at the mummy
"These tears are not mine. This form has become a doll of dust. But still he is the eternal Pharaoh… his spirit lives on with his name. Even eternal sleep has denied him… His cry of the soul becomes tears and flows down my cheeks."
Yuki then noticed something else about the man; he was carrying a golden scale.
"Heh you're a nice little girl."
The man ruffled Yuki's hair and ticked her off.
The man walked away leaving Yuki ticked as heck.
`Little girl!? I'm in high school!'
"Hey Yuki get over here. We found your puzzle!" said Joey
Yuki forgot about the man and ran to her friends and family.
Yuki saw Mr. Kanekura with some guy with strange glasses, both of them left the case, leaving Yuki baffled.
Everyone looked at the puzzle in the glass case. Yuki was kind of disappointed that she was mentioned in the description for the puzzle but she was happy none of the less.
Soon it was time to go but Yuki decided to stay behind and wait for Mr. Kanekura to give her the puzzle back and she waited, and waited, and waited. She couldn't stand waiting any longer and went into the museum.
"Mr. Kanekura? Mr. Kanekura?"
(A/N A slight note, I'm skipping the scene with Shadi and Mr. Kanekura. In my opinion it was so boring.)
Just then Yuki saw the strange Egyptian.
`Maybe he knows where my puzzle is.'
"Excuse me sir. Can you help me find my puzzle? It's held by a brown string and it looks like an upside down Pyramid."
The man was shocked, he stared at Yuki in disbelief.
`It can't be. This girl is the one who's solved the Millennium Puzzle? There's only one way to find out.'
The man then pulled out an Ankh type item placed it on Yuki's head. He turned it and both of them were frozen in place.
What really happened was that Shadi had entered Yuki's mind.
