Every night Yugi sat near the window having a glazed look in his eyes every time he thought of Yami. This time though he was sitting near the window crying. He had just confessed his feelings to Yami and Yami had rejected him.

* * flashback * *

"Yami, I, I….." Yugi stuttered. "Yes, abiou?" Yami asked gently, "Yami, I, I…lo-, love you!!" Yugi said.

There was a short silence.

"I'm sorry hikari……I don't love you that way. I'm with Seto." Yami replied sadly. Yugi's heart broke right at those words. He forced up a smile. "That's okay, Yami!!!!" Yugi said, fighting back tears.

* * end flashback * *

Yugi cried bitterly. He couldn't stand the pain. Yami will never love me. He will never look at me the same way. Kaiba can offer him everything, and what can I offer? I can offer nothing!!!! He thought sadly. All of his friends already left with their loved ones. Anzu with Tristan, Jou and Mai, Ryou and Bakura, Malik and Marik, and now, Yami and Seto.

He needed to end the pain. It seemed like it would swallow him up and never leave him until he got what he wanted. Yami, the only love he'll ever have.

He slowly moved his way to the kitchen and took out a butcher knife. He slowly pressed the knife on his wrist. It didn't quite make it to his artery. It was painful, but it couldn't compare with the pain in his heart. He cut again and again and so on. He was starting to feel dizzy from the blood loss.

Yami jerked awake, he could feel something tugging in his heart. He went downstairs as quickly as he could and saw something that horrified him. His precious chibi hikari was lying on the floor, his wrist bleeding.

"Yugi!" Yami yelled. "Yugi!" Tears quickly went to his eyes at mentioning his hikari. Yugi opened his eyes and smiled a sad smile. "Yami, I love you. Don't hate me please. I hope you're happy with Seto. As long as you're happy, I am happy." Yugi said quietly. "Yugi, you'll always have a place in my heart and I don't hate you," Yami said. Yugi truly felt happy inside and breathe his last and relieved breath. Yami didn't hate him. That was all that mattered.

"Yugi!" Yami yelled. He hugged his now dead hikari in his arms and let out his tears freely. He didn't want his hikari dead. It wasn't supposed to be this way. Yami thought sadly. How am I supposed to be happy, now that the light of life is gone? Yami felt there was a big void in his heart, where he could still remember the giggles, laughs, and smiles his chibi light admitted. Nothing was going to be the same………without his Yugi. His light.
