Yugi was hugging on a woman he thought he'd never see again and she was stunned. “Wait, Yugi.” She said, just then she remembered something her grandfather told her.

 

When in doubt search your heart.

 

So she did and knew in her heart that Yugi Moto was her son. She hugged him tightly and they went to where she was staying so she could train him.

 

The next morning, Solomon Moto, Yugi's grandfather, woke up and looked at the time. “I better open the shop.” He said then it hit him, he had forgot the one thing he'd swore he'd never forget. Yugi's birthday. He went over to Yugi's door and knocked on it, “Yugi, are you in there?” There was no answer, “Yugi I'm sorry I forgot your birthday.” Still no answer, he opened the door and saw they Yugi wasn't even in his room.

 

Later he called the others and they showed up.

 

“He was here last night, he was on the roof of the shop and was thinking.” Solomon said, “and yes I already checked up there.”

 

“Well, were could've he gone?” Said Tristan Taylor, then it hit him. “Oh no!” He looked at the paper and saw the day's date. “Is this the current paper?” Solomon nodded, Tristan just sighed and hung his head.

 

“What's wrong Tristan?” Said Joey Wheeler.

 

“What was yesterday?” He said.

 

“The 5th, why?” Said Anzu Mizaki, and then it hit her. “Yugi's birthday.”

 

“Bingo.”

 

“How could we have forgotten?” Said Yami.

 

“We were so worried about you that we forgot who brought us together.” Said Joey, “I can't believe we forgot his birthday like that.”

 

“Come on, we have to find him.” Said Anzu, so they went their own ways and started to search for him.

 

Meanwhile Padi and Yugi were in an old dojo on the outskirts of town. Yugi took to his mother's training like a duck to water. Then one of Padi's servants walked in to the room, “Ma'am lunch is ready.” She said.

 

“Thank you Jessica,” said Padi. “Alright Yugi, let's stop for now.” So they do and they got cleaned up and had lunch. Yugi was telling Padi all about himself and they were enjoying each other's company. She was amazed about all of her son's adventures, she was also proud of him as well. Later, Yugi was in a library reading a book in a picture window. “Yugi, could you come here? I wish to speak to you.” She said, Yugi got up and walked over to where she was and low and behold there was a birthday cake on the table.

 

“SURPRISE! HAPPY BETHLATED BIRTHDAY!”

 

They sang `Happy Birthday' to him and he blew out the candles. While they were having some cake Padi told him that she was taking him out to dinner and was going to give him a big present before the day was through.

 

Meanwhile the others where still looking for Yugi when Joey ran in to Serenity. “Hey sis,” he said as he hugged her.

 

“Hi Joey,” she said as she hugged him back. “What brings you to my neck of the woods?”

 

“Yugi's missing, have you seen him?”

 

“I think so.” She said Joey looked to her.

 

“You have? Where?”

 

“Whoa, calm down. I said `I thought I saw him' and even if I did, it was quick.”

 

“Where did you see him?”

 

“On the strip he was going in to a shop.”

 

“Thanks sis,” Joey was about to take off.

 

“When you see him, tell him I think that braid in his hair is cute.” She yelled after him.

 

Meanwhile he went to a shopping strip and started to look around for his friend. There he saw him with a very beautiful woman, in an ice cream shop. But Yugi was dressed way different; he wasn't in his black leather any more. He was in all white silk and had a tri colored braid coming down the left side of his head. He was laughing at what the woman had said to him. She had long platinum blond hair and also dressed in all white silk clothes.

 

Later Joey called the others and let them know that he found Yugi and then he walked in.

 

“And so that's what happened.” Chuckled Yugi, “Joey's the only person that dreams about food.” Padi laughed so hard, tears were coming out of her eyes. She wiped them away.

 

“Oh that was a funny story darling, too bad he forgot all about you and your birthday.” She said.

 

“It doesn't matter mom, I got you. I don't need anyone else.” He said as he hugged her, when Joey heard that, his heart felt like it was made of concrete and his blood was a cold lead.

 

`He's right; he doesn't need me our any of us. We don't deserve his friendship anymore, we lost that when he left him for Yami.' On that thought, he left the shop, called the others and told them that he was mistaken.
