Day 4 - Katrina's and Kaiba's Date

Kaiba walked around his home, checking in all the rooms on the first floor.

Kaiba: Where the heck is she?

Kaiba finally gave up searching by foot, and when to his computer.

Kaiba: Computer, go into Kaiba Mansion's Security Database. Locate all humans located in this mansion.

Computer: Loading Kaiba Mansion Security Database. Requested locations of all humans by camera visuals. Downloading. Uploading. Complete. We have located 9 humans including you on floor one, and 1 human on floor 3. Loading Camera Visuals.

Kaiba: Cancel camera visuals. Just tell me which room she is in on floor 3.

Computer: Canceling camera visuals. Human on floor 3 is in Room 206.

Kaiba: Thank you. Computer, shut down.

Computer: Computer, shutting down.

Kaiba walked up the stairs, wondering what the heck she is doing all the way up on floor 3 of room 206. He sighed as he finally realized that Room 206 was his bedroom! He ran up the stairs fast and quickly opened the door. Katrina, as he expected was sitting on the bed, crying.

Kaiba: Uh… (he finally realized he didn't know what to say) Katrina?

Katrina: (Doesn't look up at Kaiba, and continues to cry)

Kaiba: (Sat down next to Katrina) Katrina, uh… go ahead and cry.

Katrina: (Finally looks up) What?

Kaiba: I said, Go ahead…Cry. That's what I tell Mokuba to do when he's upset, to let all his tears out.

Katrina: (Katrina had no comment, but just threw her arms around Kaiba and cried into his chest)

Kaiba didn't know what to do, since the only person that does this to him was Mokuba. He just held onto her for a few minutes.

Katrina: (Finally lets go) Thank you.

Kaiba: Thank you?

Katrina: Yes, thank you for letting me think for the moment.

Kaiba: Umm… you're welcome…?

There was a silent moment as they just sat on the bed, next to each other. Very close to each other. ;)

Kaiba: You know you are wrong. (What a weird thing to say at such a moment)

Katrina: (looks confused) Wrong about what?

Kaiba: That nobody likes you.

Katrina: But…

Kaiba: Just because Yami doesn't consider having a personal relationship with you, doesn't mean everyone doesn't like you.

Katrina: (Speechless)

Kaiba: Did you even want to have a relationship with him?

Katrina: (Looks away) I don't know.

Kaiba: I think you do. And it figures, who wouldn't like The King of Games.

Katrina: (Looks back at Kaiba) You know, the title King of Games doesn't mean anything.

Kaiba: Well, how else is Yami getting his attention?

Katrina: I don't know. He's a great duelist.

Kaiba: For a long time now, I've been wanting that title.

Katrina: The title doesn't mean anything to me.

Kaiba: I've noticed. You are the one that beat Yami in a duel match. You still didn't take his title.

Katrina: How does everyone know this?

Kaiba: Not everyone knows you know, but I guess it makes sense. Yami has been very … I don't know, there isn't a word for his actions, but he acts peculiarly strange around you. Like you are the shadow that beat him. And still, you remain a shadow, not wanting anyone to know of your victory.

Katrina: I don't want anyone to know because I don't need a title for everyone to know me. I don't want to be known as the Queen of Games or whatever. I wanna be known as simply Katrina Lee. I don't know about you, but why wouldn't the title "World Champion" be good enough for you?

Kaiba: Because I have been defeated.

Katrina: So have I.

Kaiba: I don't like to be lectured.

Katrina: I'm not lecturing you.

Kaiba: So, you know, since your better now, let's go down stairs and tell everyone you're okay, and everyone will be happy.

Katrina: Wait, isn't this our date time?

Kaiba: Yeah.

Katrina: Well, why not continue it?

Kaiba: The past two have been disasters. I don't wanna know how this is going to turn out. Already you're trying to lecture me.

Katrina: I'm NOT lecturing you.

Kaiba: Temper. Temper.

Katrina: You know, you're annoying. I thought you were okay at first, but now…

Kaiba: Well, it's been annoying hearing people beg for my money.

Katrina: I have no interest in your money.

Kaiba: Why not? All the others can't wait to get their hands on it.

Katrina: All that matters to you is money and titles.

Kaiba: There's a lot more I care about.

Katrina: And your brother.

Kaiba: …

Katrina: Well, you know apart from Yugi's date, I think that this is one of the worst dates ever.

Kaiba: What do you want for me to do to make it better.

Katrina: Stop accusing me of things I'm not doing.

Kaiba: You know I'll do that to keep you happy.

Katrina and Kaiba sat there, back to back. Not speaking to each other.

Kaiba: I challenge you to a duel.

Katrina: I'm not in the mood to duel.

Kaiba: Then what do you want to do rather than sit here and waste my time?

That did it for Katrina. She burst into tears again.

Kaiba: Oh -beep- (notice the anti-cuss system still works) you're crying again.

Kaiba this time slowly pulled her him, let her lean against him, and he held her arm, and walked her out of his room. He took her down the stairs and then out into his backyard. Yep, his backyard, at night. He sat her on the bench. Still she was crying, and Kaiba just wrapped his arm aroundherand "shhhh" her. Kaiba looked at her, and noticed how pretty she was. Something everyone else already noticed. As she was crying Kaiba started to think to himself.

Kaiba: Her feelings are so tender. I don't think I can possibly keep her from crying this entire night. I know I'm tough on people, but I haven't been half as tough on her, than many other people. She is pretty, something I don't want to admit, but her personality is so strange.

As Kaiba was debating to himself, he didn't realize that Katrina had stopped crying.

Katrina: The sky is so pretty at night.

Kaiba: Wow, you stopped crying.

Katrina: (Gave Kaiba a disgruntled look) look at that star. It's pretty.

Kaiba, who had extensive knowledge of many things, started to point out the many constellations. Katrina, was happy again, and listened to Kaiba talk. She felt things between them getting better. Kaiba, on the other hand, was enjoying pointing out the constellations and having someone to talk to. But Kaiba looked at his watch and realized that they had been outside for way to long, and suddenly turned to Katrina, realizing she had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

Kaiba: Katrina, Katrina. You gotta wake up. (He shook her)

Katrina: huh?

Kaiba: It's getting late.

Katrina gets up, her face leveled with Kaiba's. She slowly leans forward, and he does too. Their lips are only a hair away, when Kaiba pulls away.

Kaiba: Umm…we should go now. I mean… inside.

Katrina is in shock, but gets up.

Katrina: Hug?

Kaiba: I guess.

They embrace each other warmly, but Kaiba quickly turns away, and walks inside WITHOUT her.
