Chapter 2

“What do you mean Im claimed?!”

A/n:Yes it took forever and im sorry,but my computer is back from the grave with a new word program…YAY!!

Mahiru sat on the roof,she was skipping health,so what? Her barriers were down,her aura freely flowed around her along with her scent, her eyes were closed as she started to space out.

*thump thump*

“Uh oh” someone..no..some 2 people were coming up the stairs she quickly backed out of sight.She slowly peeked her head out from her hiding place and looked at the opening door,just as Yusuke walked through it, followed quickly by Kurama.She smiled and walked out,waving.Yusuke quickly smiled back giving a slight wave of his own., Kurama just offered a polite smile and nod.

“Come here often?” she asked

“Sort of”he looked a bit uncomfortable at that

Kurama was about to say something when he stopped,and smelled the air,he got a look of intense concentration and casta uneasy glance at Yusuke.He was confused for a moment before smelling the air.Mahiru was just about to slap them to remind them of her presence when Yusuke stopped and looked over at her,Kurama doing the same. They both gave a slight bow with a `gomen' before turning and started to head to the door.

“Hey jeez whats your problem `huh?!DO I smell that bad or what?!” she yelled angrily

Both Kurama and Yusuke stopped and turned around blushing slightly

“No its not that! Its just…”Yusuke said uncomfortably

She tapped her foot in annoyance

“You're claimed” she stopped and slowly turned her head towards Kurama

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN IM CLAIMED?!”

Both boys visibly flinched at the loudness covering their ears as she stalked towards them,they definitely did not like that evil gleam in her eye.

“It means a male has marked you as a potential mate warning all males away from you,2 demons have currently marked you,a tengu and a vampire”Kurama quickly got out…luckily.((hmm a Tengu and a vampire..i wonder who))

Mahiru paused slowly processing this new information,before regaining the look of pure anger and aggravation on her face again

“OOOOOOOH IM GONNA GET THEM!!” she practically growled out searching in her bag for her cell phone.meanwhile the boys got ready for a interesting show.

Misoka picked up

“Hello?”

“Misoka? Hey is Mitsuru or Nozomu there?”

“No princess they are both busy can I help you?” both boys raised a inquiring eyebrow at her new title

“Damn it!! Kurama and Yusuke thought they had to stay away from me like I was Nozomu's and Mitsuru's property or something!!!”

“You mean the Kitsune Kurama? And the spirit detective Urameshi, princess?”

“How'd you know misoka?!” she asked bewildered

“I knew they went to that school princess that's why I arranged for you to be sent there”

“Oh”

“Princess,would you like to stay at master Gengki's for awhile? Im sure she won't mind”

“Um yeah sure I guess…Tell the boys…im on vaca ok?”

“Yes princess”

“Thanks bye Misoka!!”

“Yourwelcome princess”

She hung up and smiled and laughed happily as she jumped high in the air as she clapped her hands

“Wait- im not sure the old hag will-“

But she cut yusuke off by leaping at him and giving him a huge hug laughing she said happily

“Don't be so pessimistic!” as she snuggled her face in the crook of his neck

Mahiru may not have noticed how Yusuke's expression changed,or how his scent spiked,or the shivers it sent down yusuke's spine,but Kurama did notice,after all he is a fox,and thief he was supposed to notice these things.

Mahiru once again bowed to Master Gengki as she stood

“Thank you for letting me stay and train at your temple temporarily Master Gengki”

“No problem Mahiru you're better than the slacker”

“Oh shut up grandma!”

She laughed lightly at their atics,they were just like her and Mitsuru were when they first met..except Mitsuru was often more vicious.

“Mahiru?!” she turned at the familiar voice

“Kuwabara?!” she was surprised yet happy,finally someone she knew!

Kuwabara happily ran over to his friend and quickly hugged her

“What're you doing here Mahiru?”

“Im staying here for awhile and you? Are you a apprentice of master Gengki?” ((this would be SO much easier if I didn't hear Lu La Lu La…Moonlight moonlight sleepin'! cake for you! tea for you! Over and over and over..again!!! a cookie to whoever knows what anime that's from!!))

“Sort of..” he rubbed the back of his head was he her apprentice? Kind of sort of,right? It was hard to tell

“Whoa how do you two know eachother?!”

Mahiru smirked, just as she was about to say something Kuwabara snaked his hand around her waist and pulled her closer to him with a wink to her he replied to their question

“Mahiru is my waitress” she blushed furiously giving him a slight slap

“You're all pervs you know that!!”

“So Kuwabara comes into the moonshine?” Mahiru nodded to Kurama's question

“2 or three times a week”Kuwabara glanced down at Mahiru with widened eyes for a moment before speaking

“you rejected their claims?” she nodded

The ever observant Kurama couldn't help but noticeYusuke's reaction to Kuwabara's and Mahiru's obvious closeness,but luckily fate chimed in with a cheery “BINGO!”

“SO misoka wasn't messing with em you are staying here for awhile?” BOtan cheered happily after talking to Mahiru for a moment.

Kuwabara excused himself saying something about Shizuru and groceries.

A few minutes later both girls burst into a fit of giggles as Mahiru re-counted when she found out she had been `claimed',

“so you really though you smelled really bad or something?”Botan asked her still giggling

“yep and I still half think I do..” she nearly regretted her statement when Botan got a evil glint in her eyes

“Hey Yusuke!!” She yelled as he glared at her ”Come here!” She grabbed his arm and dragged him to stand in fornt of Mahiru who was of course blushing along with the spirit detective.BOtan had to use up a lot of self control to to burst into a fit of giggles at the sight of the two of them,then she grabbed Mahiru's arm and shoved it up to Yusuke's face

“Now Yusuke does she smell bad?” he blushed furiously but wasn't alone as Mahiru tried to jerk her hand free Yusuke literally smelled her arm,and closed his eyes before opening them and smirking

“No not bad at all”

If her cheeks stayed red forever,she would blame Botan.

That night Mahiru sat on the roof of Gengki's shrine alone.Just staring at the stars.The way her and Nozomu and Mitsuru use to do together,then she felt a very familiar energy coming her way,a shadow,a wave of wind,bats.

She sighed and layed on her back just as the boy materialized beside her.

“Nozomu”

“Mahiru…why?”

“elaborate” she stated simply

“why did you reject both of us without speaking to either of us? And leave without informing us?!” he was getting agitated now

“I HAVE MY OWN LIFE!!!”she screamed in retaliation why did you both state a claim on me without informing me huh?! What am I a piece of land?!” now she was standing,looking bat boy right in the eyes.

“Mahiru c'mon you need to go back to the moonshine Mitsuru is waiting” he grabbed her arm and started towards the edge of the roof

She jerked her hand away quickly

“Nozomu stop!! I don't take orders from anyone especially when you try and force me!! Im staying here and that's final!!”

“No you're not!” her growled back,and in a quick and hardly visible motion he had her thrown over one shoulder heading towards the edge of the roof

“NOZOMU PUT ME DOWN!!!” she screamed repeatedly pounding her fists on his back

“You will put her down now or I WILL kill you” Mahiru Immediately stopped hearing master Gengki's voice

“Stay out of this Grandma!”

Gengkai kept her stance though,hands clasped behind her back,feet slightly apart standing tall,with the slightest smirk replacing her scowl as the black form lunged at Nozomu.

“Baka ninegen” was all Hiei said as Nozomu fell unconscious,dropping Mahiru she hit the ground in a crouch,looked at Hiei and promptly fainted.
