Ryu, a half dragon half human, and his friend, Nina, a phoenix girl, have been traveling together for a year now. They and their friends just defeated the Dragon God that wanted to take over their world.

Ryu has long blue hair and green eyes. His mother was a white dragon that protected the gate to the netherworld while his father was just an ordinary priest with magic powers.

Nina has dark wings of a phoenix that made her look like an angel. Her short blonde hair fell over her face, covering her deep blue eyes. She was from a village of phoenixes that had white wings. Whenever a phoenix was born with dark wings, it was considered a bad omen or a curse.

Ryu fell in love with Nina but never had the courage to tell her. So, he decided to keep to himself. The two lived in a village of humans, protecting the villagers from demons.

Nina walked from the village to the river. It's been over a year since she has first met Ryu and she wanted to show the blue dragon boy that she loved him, but she was always too shy to tell him. The phoenix angel landed at the water's edge gently. She looked at herself in the water and sighed. Her dark purple, almost black wings, really were a curse. Nina slipped her clothes off and dipped her foot into the water.

The water felt cool but still warm enough for a bath. She walked into the water, slowly, getting used to the coldness of the water. Soon she was waist high in water and she went under. Her wings became wet and slick.

Ryu looked up and noticed the sun setting. What was taking Nina so long? Is she in trouble? Ryu sighed and decided to continue with his work. After an hour, he decided to search for his friend.

Nina heard a rustle in the nearby bushes. "What the?" Nina dunked into the water up to her chin as a figure came out of hiding.

It was a red haired boy with green eyes. He looked about her age. Something about him made her tremble a little.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" Nina said angrily.

"Don't worry. I'm here to find Ryu." The boy answered.

"What do you want with Ryu?" Nina rose a little out of the water but her shoulders was the only part showed of her body with her wings.
