Chapter 5:The last day.
October 15, 2003
They came back that day. I was in the forest, near the lake. The wind blow strands of my light brown hair into my face. I stared at my reflection in the water. I looked like...my mother. Except for my baby blue eyes, I felt like I was looking at her again. My hair had grown up to my shoulders. I closed my eyes and listened to the wind. I heard my mom, my dad...and my older brother. His name was Malkior. He never liked his name, but Malkior never changed it. He looked like dad. Malkior had short, silky dark brown hair and dark green eyes. Yes, my mom had those eyes. Malkior disappeared one day. October 15th was his birthday. He was only one year older than me. I miss him so much...
The boys came back. I heard their footsteps and stood up. I'm was not going to be imprisoned without a fight. I ran to another side of the forest with them following. I stopped in a tall grass field. I wasn't going run anymore. I was going to fight for my dreams. I was going to win with pride, or go down fighting.
"Give up!"Yusuke yelled.
"Not without a battle."The wind was blowing my hair into my face again. I knew...what I had to do. I had to take them down."Which one of you low lives are going to face me?"
"I have a code for not fighting girls."Kuwabara stepped back.
"I too."Kurama backed down.
"I'll take her."Hiei stepped up.
"You sure?"Keiyosei stared at me.
Hiei took off his cloak and I reversed to battle stance. Keiyosei was giving a blank stare. Hiei charged at me and I charged at him. I dodged his strokes and he kept coming at me. I kicked his wrists and he dropped his sword. I grasped it and pinned him to a tree. He tried to struggle away, but he couldn;t move. Hiei closed his eyes, possibly admiting defeat. I was about to finish him off when an eirie wind blew through my hair. My mom, my dad, and my brother's voices were there, but I couldn't make out the words. Then I realized...they didn't want me to be like this. I dropped the sword and picked up his cloak. Hiei opened his eyes as I wiped the blood off his cheak.
"Why did you stop?!"Hiei growled. He probably thought this was a trick.
"I didn't want to be a murderer. My family wouldn't have been proud."I knew the rest of the guys were behind me.
"Will you come with us then?"Yusuke asked.
"No. I've lived my life chained down by my memories. I'm not about to be chained down by you backstabbers. What did I ever do to deserve being hunted?"
"That's what we're trying to find out."Kuwabara said.
"Tell you what. Until you find a reasonable answer, I will never let you capture me."With that, I walked away.
That was the last encounter I had with them...
