The snake crawled out of the pipe and slithered toward them sniffing around because it was still blind. It swayed this way and that looking for victims, then it caught Harry's sent and lunged forward screaming Kill in snake language so only Harry heard it but no one else needed to. Harry flew up out of the way and hung in the air while drawing his bow and Hiei began to gather fire but stopped when Kurama yelled "STOP, no spirit energy, it could alert other demons to out presence, we have to do this the old fashioned way" and he moved out of the way of the snakes tale as it came whipping around. Harry put away the bow and drew his twin swords and flew around the snake's head and sliced, the blades barely scraped the scales, he figured that when he got the snake when he was twelve he got lucky when he got its mouth. He flew out of the way as the snake whipped its head around and clamped its jaws shut right were he was and Harry landed and hit the snake's tail but the same thing happened as before and he was forced to dodge again. Then Algernon ran forward and slammed her foot into the snake and tore a chunk away with her talons, the snake hissed and writhed in pain and struck out at Algernon who leapt nimbly away from the strike and onto the statue of Salazar in the pool of water. Then Hiei appeared out of nowhere and hit at the spot where Algernon had gouged a hole and sliced it wider and caused more blood to flow. The snake screamed and hissed more loudly and swung it's tail in random directions and hit the statue where Algernon was standing. She leapt easily out of the way to the back of the statue and the snake continued to lash out more erratically at any smell. Everyone was driven back and Algernon looked ready to leap again but then the stature began to crumble beneath her feet and broke apart and Algernon fell into the water.

There was a splash and the pool of water was lit up in an amazing light show, Algernon screeched her scraping metal screech and lightning bolts fired at random directions. They gouged holes in the rocks and Harry just managed to avoid one but he felt the heat and was glad he wasn't hit. Algernon screeched again and more lighting bolts flew around and it lanced towards the snake and it neatly severed it into 3 pieces and left the rest as charred stumps writhing convulsively, their was no blood since the lighting had charred the blood vessels to the point where blood could no longer flow through them. Then the lightning stopped and Algernon stopped screaming and began to sink into the water, Shadow reached in and pulled her out and laid her on the ground looking grim as he checked her pulse. Then he relaxed a bit and said "she's going to be alright, luckily no one got hurt in the discharge, but she wont be fighting full force for a few days, but she'll be up in a few hours". But Harry was curious to what happened and asked "what was that", Shadow turned to him looking blank as usual and said "water is Algernon's only REAL weakness, falling into a pool like that starts a reaction that causes all her energy to be discharged at once, she natural holds electricity, but uses spirit energy to control it, so on demon could have felt that, but she wont have any electricity for at least a day so we have to wait until she has enough energy to move".

So they sat and waited for a few hours and they watched the sky turn red and then violet and then black and they could hear the beginnings of a lightning storm outside the chamber. Then Algernon sat up suddenly and growled and looked around, when she realized the snake was dead she slumped back and sighed at her weakness, then she sniffed twice and looked up at the hole they came down through and stood up and limped towards it. She stood right underneath the hole and spread her arms wide as if in prayer. She screeched again and began to glow slightly, and then three bolts of lightning flew through the hole and hit Algernon. They lit the chamber for about 5 seconds and the disappeared leaving a fresh looking Algernon standing there surrounded by tiny static bolts but she looked reenergized and happy and walked away from the hole before it began raining and walked towards the exit without a word.

They all followed while Shadow explained what happened "her type of demon lives in the forest in very tall trees, whenever storm come around they attract the lightning and disappear before it starts raining, her type of demon is called Nijuumado which means storm chaser when translated". But he stopped talking when they came upon the pipe that led to the bathroom entrance they climbed the pipe in single file and emerged in the bathroom.

Actually nijuumado means storm watcher but it was the closest thing to storm chaser I could find so don't shoot (ducks and holds arms over head).
