Kyo lay on the roof of SHigure's house, once again sulking. He heard movement, and turned to see Mitsune coming up the ladder. He glared at her and turned away.
'Go away."A vein throbbed in Mitsune's forehead as she walked over to him and sat down.
"Kyo,I want to talk to you."she said. Kyo ignored her and remained silent. He watched her out of the corner of his eye as she sighed and ran a bandaged hand through her hair. Wait a minute, bandaged? He turned over and stared at her hands.
"What happened to you?"he asked. Mitsune glared at him.
"Took you long enough to notice." she snapped. She put her hands in her lap, and stared a them.
"Kyo, your not the only one who's an outcast."she said quietly.
"Don't change the subject."he said, glaring at her.
"I'm not." she said.
"Dammit!What do you know anyway?! You don't know what I've been through!"he shouted. Mitsune's eyes were hidden by her bangs as she just sat silent.
'You're right, I don't. But could it possibly be as bad as being locked in a small dark room for weeks at a time?Your only companions the roachs that crawl on the floor, no light except for the tiny but that comes through when they hand you your meals. Being beaten daily. Having your hands burned to the point that you can't feel them? Or being kicked out of every home you've stayed in,just becasue you transform into something. Having to watch close friends and relatives that aren't cursed age and die, knowing you will never be able to see them in the next realm." Kyo stared at her in shock. A wry smile spread across her lips.
"everyone who's cursed in my family didn't have to deal with it until somewhere between their 14th and 20th birthday. Everyone knew I would be the fox before then, because I began to age slower when I was 6. Otto is about 10 years younger than me, yet looks older."she said.
"He always said that he should have been the fox, because he was a theiving liar. And I should have been a cat, because I was a graceful,talented, and innocent kid." she sighed and shook her head.
"That was when I was 10. I don't even remember being happy any time other than when I was with him. He was my best friend. He was always there for me , he was someone who i could lean on, I could cry on his shoulder when ever i needed to. He was the first to see me for who i was, not what." Kyo saw a single tear fall slide down the currently silver haired girl's cheek.
"i didn't know... that you had to go through so much."he said with shock clear in his voice.
"And worst of all, the head of our family,Yume, has decided to end the curse. I should be happy, but the costs..."she began to sob, and flung herself at Kyo. The orange haired teen was in too much shock to do anything ,so he just let her cry.
"How is your curse ended?"he asked. There was a long pause, then-
"The one who got the curse put on us, the first one to become a fox, must be murdered. And his true form passed onto his heir. The heir will become a demon, just as the first did, and afterwords, the cat of the cursed family will die tring to save them, not from pity, but out of love for them."she said quietly. Kyo sat in silence thinking about this. The two didn't notice a certain novelist standing below, listening.
Shigure sighed. What Mitsune had said was so similair to waht was supposed to end their curse. The cat would die trying to protect a one of the cursed, who had excepted him and cared for him. He decided he would go see Hatori about this.
Hello peoples!I just wanted to let you know that I just made up the cure for the curse(if you couldn't tell), so don't go thinking Kyo's gonna die!
