A/n- I have written lemons before and they are pretty good. I've read many that sucked @$$. Don't worry lilraven ^_^ and im sorry I killed kagome, I know how you wanted it to be a kagome/yusuke, but I already had the pairings all thought out. Well, here comes chapter six.

His Father's Son

~~Shizuru's Point of View~~

Beautiful. That was the only way she could describe him, and still, it hardly did him justice.

The powerful youkai jumped out of the tree in what she considered Hiei-style. Shizuru grew a little tense when she realized that even with some of his ki masked; he could still give her brother and the others a run for their money if it ever came to a battle between them. She slowly relaxed when he obviously was not going to hack her to shreds.

His hair was waist length and a silver color enhanced by the moonlight that surrounded them. His eyes glowed gold and intense in a face that seemed almost too handsome to be real. Pale skin adorned his body and his face had a crescent tattooed on the forehead and a pair of stripes on each cheek. Easily standing at a height of 6 feet, even with her lofty 5'10, she had to crane her neck up to look at him.

He stared at her with a look that was half curiosity and half indifference. The silence was thick until she heard him speak. He asked for her name and she gave it to him without thinking about it. It wasn't like her not to think things through.

"I am Sesshomaru." She barely caught his name. Shizuru had been staring in fascination at his eyes. If you looked closely, you could see so much emotion that his face could not express.

She smiled at him. The way he spoke, it was obvious from his tone that to him, this was a sign of cautious trust. Her heart rate sped up against her will, and she knew he could also hear it.

Her smile melted away as she remembered the last time she had experienced the feeling. A vision of Sakyou (did any of you understand what she saw in him?!) flitted across her mind. Sesshomaru almost looked confused at her sudden change in moods.

Out of nowhere, a teenage girl skipped into the clearing. Around her head was a tiara of wildflowers, and she carried many more in her slim, pale arms.

"Look at my flo-who are you? Rin's name is Rin! You're pretty. Do you want to be Rin's friend?" (I know she doesn't speak that way in the anime or in the manga, but it's so cute. Even if she's 15)

Her words shot out of her mouth like a machine gun, and Shizuru chuckled after taking a moment to digest everything she said.

"My name is Shizuru and I think you are very pretty too." (if anyone says anything about that sounding gay, I will personally hunt them down and force an obese turkey down their throats. Doesn't your mom ever tell you that you look pretty?)

The girl bounced forward and offered Shizuru a pink lily before motioning for her to follow. Sesshomaru had long since departed, tired of the girl's meaningless chatter. (nice isn't he? ^_^)

Rin's face was interesting to watch, Shizuru decided. It was very animated as she spoke of many things.

She told Shizuru of when she had first met `Sesshomaru-sama' as she called him. He had revived her from death after she was murdered by wolf demons. Shizuru was saddened for the girl, whose only real family all these years had been Sesshomaru himself.

"Umm… Shizuru-san."

"Yes, Rin-chan?"

"Can Rin call you Okaasan?" Shizuru looked at the girl-well more like young woman-in surprise. She had never considered herself to be the role-model type. Her eyes softened when she realized that Rin, minus the cheerful innocent act, was really just a lonely little girl. She was sure Rin was too innocent for all the abuse she had already suffered.

"I would love to be your Okaasan." Rin's eyes began to leak and she dropped her flowers to hug the older girl.

Shizuru noticed Sesshomaru's familiar ki in the canopy above them, but to spare his ego, she said nothing.

They reached the village and Shizuru was set upon by Yukina and Botan for being gone for so long. Rin began to attract attention to herself by scooting toward Shizuru shyly.

Hiei, whose temper had been off all day, (they had already been forced to wipe Kuwabara off the ground many times) tensed.

"Miko…" he growled at Rin.

Instead of retreating further into the safety of her new Okkasan, Rin's entire bearing changed.

A moment ago, her ki had been nervous, but still happy and playful. Now, it lost all warmth, followed by her eyes. The innocence in them vanished to be replaced by the readiness for a ruthless battle.

Hiei smirked and eagerly drew his katana, ready to release some of the frustrations he'd been harboring.

Sesshomaru, who was still there, masked his presence and scent completely. He was poised ready to strike if things got out of hand.

Shizuru also drew her blood-red spirit sword. It was slimmer and more transparent than Kuwabara's and she shielded Rin from Hiei protectively. He stared at her, as did everyone else. Shizuru had always gotten along well with him. Better, in fact than everyone besides Kurama. He had even forgiven her for being related to Kuwabara.

Hiei growled at her angry at her getting between one of his battles, but he relinquished under her grim face. Both of them withdrew their weapons.

In an effort to change the subject and ease the tension left in the air, Kaede hobbled forth.

"Ye mentioned ye were seeking the son of an ancient inu-youkai? Well, I know of one who fits such a title. In fact, that girl is his ward and companion. Your fiery youkai friend was right; she is an incredibly powerful pure miko."

Rin colored slightly under the grand title, but kept her eye contact with the group. Shizuru meanwhile had just pieced everything together when, as if on cue, Sesshomaru dismounted from his perch in the trees.

Botan, Yukina, and Kuwabara let out `eeps' of surprise, and Yusuke jumped. Genkai, Hiei and Kurama all got into battle stances. Rin squealed "There you are Sesshomaru-sama."

Sesshomaru's face remained perfectly stoic. His eyes didn't even show warmth for Rin let alone Shizuru. She sighed. What was she getting all hopeful for? Her last relationship within the demon world had ended badly; who's to say this one wouldn't be the same? Besides, Sesshomaru was probably used to beautiful women drooling over him 24/7. (Dont we know it? *wink wink*)

Sesshomaru glared at the awed ferry girl.

"I am Sesshomaru, Taiyoukai and lord of the Western Lands. You know something of my father?"

Botan collected herself and tried to address him with as much dignity as possible.

"We've come to formally request your help in the future Reikai. <Due to author's excessive laziness, insert story about things regarding him, here>

For the first time, Sesshomaru's face could not cover his emotions. Raw anger and disgust with the group colored every inch of it, and his eyes began to glow red.

To EVERYONE'S surprise, he grabbed Shizuru and lifted her up by the neck before slamming her back into a tree.

He was unsure why he felt so betrayed, and was reacting so violently to a ningen onna he had just met. The onna in question was gasping for breath and her eyes looked wounded. He spoke back to the blue-haired girl, but since his attention was directed at Shizuru, his declaration was directed mostly at her.

"How DARE you say such lies about my father. He died an honorable death in his fight against Ryoukotsei."

Botan tried to reason with the angry demon while Kurama attempted to hold Kuwabara, Hiei, and Yusuke back by himself.

"You must understand, didn't you ever wonder why your half-demon brother could kill your father's old enemy, when he, himself, supposedly died just sealing Ryoukotsei? Of course Inutaisho lived! He made it look like Ryoukotsei had killed him so he could perform the spell in which to bring his soul back centuries later." Botan was growing desperate as Sesshomaru's grip on Shizuru's slender throat only gripped tighter. "WHY WOULD WE LIE?!"

Sesshomaru's face cleared and he dropped the onna on the ground with the closest expression to guilt as he could give, without giving it. (I just confused myself) His eyes held self disgust and only he knew why.

Not only had he proved himself to be his father's son by following the evil path at one point, but he had failed to see the obvious logic that if his father had really died fighting Ryoukotsei, it would have been impossible for Inuyasha to kill him.

`I will not allow our father to defile your memory, brother. I WILL put you to rest. I owe you and your woman that much.' He thought about his vow, as his face outwardly filled with resolve.

"I will bring my father down."

Botan attempted her usual cheery smile. "Wonderful! I suppose Rin will be coming?"

Sesshomaru looked at his ward and he nodded. Rin smiled and hugged him. Sesshomaru allowed the child to touch him, but he gently pried her off after a moment.

"Aren't you going to apologize to Okkasan? I think you scared her a little." Rin chirped innocently.

Sesshomaru looked at Shizuru. Her neck still had some marks where he had grabbed her, and he felt the tiniest pinprick of regret. However, it was not enough to make him feel entirely guilty. He said nothing.

Shizuru understood his silent brush-off. She hadn't really expected him to apologize. Rin was left wondering what she had said wrong.

Botan conjured another portal quickly and, without being told, Sesshomaru swept through first. Everyone else followed suit, Shizuru going last of all after bidding Kaede farewell.

The old woman sighed knowing the stream of time travelers was finally at an end and knowing all too well that Rin and Sesshomaru would not be back.

~~Far Away in some other time~~

A young woman with dark purple hair shuddered almost violently. She could feel something important coming closer.

Her friend, an alien beauty with long red hair looked at her with concern.

"Are you ill Raven? Perhaps you have Eranium Measles or your epidermis has been infested with Stinermites, or…" Raven looked at her gravely.

"He is very close now…" Her friend's expression was that of confusion, but Raven couldn't explain anymore.

They would all know soon enough.
