A/n- All right, well this is my first chapter on this pen name, and I know it sounds weird and everything, but I think of it as a fresh new start. (This may be because I haven't gotten in trouble with the mediaminer folks yet, at least not on this name.) On to the chapter!!

To the Tower!

Many things with the Teen Titans had changed, including the name. They had dropped the `Teen' and were simply calling themselves the Titans.

Beastboy had rewarded himself with a new costume when his shape-changing abilities had been perfected. He now had a normal skin color and he could shape shift without turning green. He now wore a black body suit with green sides and his old boots. His ears were still pointy (I just couldn't get rid of those! ^^) and his hair as well as his eyes were still forest green.

During the search of their old teammate, Terra's cure, Cyborg found a way rearrange his own molecules into the human form he'd once had. Unable to deny their friend his happiness, the Titans let him leave and try to live a normal life. He was now engaged and still found time to work on Terra's cure. He still had his robotic strength in human form, but he rarely fought crime anymore.

After his disastrous breakup with Starfire, Robin resigned and left the city. (Yes, I know, a long shot, but I'm the author so leave me alone.) Elsewhere, he began to fight crime under the name Nightwing.

Raven remained unchanged. She had barely aged at all and she hadn't adorned a new costume either. However, now in addition to her learning to control her shadow-telekinetic powers, she had become a pure psychic.

The Titans had gained an unlikely ally and teammate in Starfire's estranged sister, Blackfire.

Being banished from her home planet, and for other reasons known to only herself, Blackfire came to the Titans for a chance to reform. They were kind of uneasy around her at first, but she slowly gained their trust and became a full-fledged member.

The three girls; Raven, Starfire, and Blackfire; had become very close. (Well, pretty close considering it's Raven)

Starfire now donned a new costume that was that was similar to her old one. The top stopped halfway over her torso and was a brilliant jade green. She wore a matching mini-skirt and pair of thigh-high boots. She still wore her breast guard with the addition of a silver choker, silver armbands around her upper arms, and a pair of wrist guards, also silver.

Blackfire currently wore an almost identical version of Starfire's old outfit. The violet midriff-barring top, matching miniskirt and thigh-high boots, and breast guard remained. The differences between the two costumes were a spiked silver choker, spiked armbands, and spiked wrist guards in the same places her sister wore hers.

Both of them had gained a new ability. They could shape their alien energies into swords suited to their battle outlooks.

Blackfire, the slightly better and more ruthless fighter, received the Black Venom Blade. It was capable of injecting Tamaranian poison into the victim whenever the blade penetrated skin.

Starfire, the more gentle and benevolent fighter, used the Jade Star Blade. It could usually drain the victim's physical strength.

(A/n- I do not own the name Jade Star Blade nor do I own a few other things that I have planned to quote or use in the future, all props to these things must be given to Lady Hikari and her friend who wrote Darkness Falls and Titanic Spirits. They were the inspiration for this story and if they are reading this now, and you guys dislike that I am using some of your material, please let me know and I'll take it down immediately! Please note that I am not plagiarizing since I have clearly stated that they DO NOT BELONG TO ME! Sry to slow you down… )

Aqualad and Speedy sometimes joined the Titans in tough fights and were unofficial members of the team.

Today, Blackfire was kicking Beastboy's butt on the gaming station. Starfire was watching and cheering them on.

"AAAAGH! THAT'S NOT FAIR, YOU LAPPED ME AGAIN!!" Beastboy screamed/pouted.

Blackfire simply laughed at her friend and speed up her car even more.

Meanwhile, Raven, as usual, sat meditating in her bedroom.

"Azerath Metrion Zynthos…" she chanted with her eyes closed. Her pale forehead was furrowed in confusion.

Only a little while ago, her mental awareness of her future mate had been overwhelming. She had even been able to decipher that he was a very powerful demon, and he was also a telepath.

Right now though, their two phychic minds seemed to be canceling each other out. The connection had flickered and died.

Raven's uneasy face melted at once and she understood. Her eyes opened revealing orbs of calm violet purple.

"He's here."

Hiei could feel his intended mate's presence all around this city. He could feel the mental link of theirs without even trying, but it seemed as soon as he tried to delve deeper, the connection broke.

He reached out at far as he could with his jagan, but any trace of their link was gone.

"What's wrong with you, three-eyes?" Yusuke asked, crossing his arms behind his head and resting it on them, lounging.

He got no answer. Not that he really expected one. He tried another question as his friends continued to step out of the portal.

"So where the hell are we?" Again, he received no answer and it was starting to piss him off.

"WILL YOU STOP IGNORING ME?! I would expect it from Hiei, but--- BOTAN!!"

The ferry girl had promptly passed out after closing the portal, whispering, `Titan's Tower'. Yahiko, who was right behind her, caught Botan before she hit the ground.

"She said `Titan's Tower'. Does that mean anything to you?" Kurama thought for a moment, and then looked around.

"It is safe to assume we are in America, since all the signs around here are written in English. Besides, she mentioned earlier to Koenma that we would be coming here. (Refer to chapter three I think, unless you can take my word for it and don't feel the need to check. ^^) Perhaps she meant that peculiar-shaped building like a `T'?"

The group agreed to try going there first, since it was the only tower they saw around.

Upon reaching the lake surrounding it, they were confused on how to cross it.

Strange as it may seem, Yukina had become somewhat fierce (for her) with worry for Botan.

She was a skilled healer of course, but since natural exhaustion wasn't really an ailment, she could do nothing.

"We must hurry. Botan needs to rest properly!" Her aura began to glow an icy blue with white sheens in it. Her eyes also glowed a pure white as she extended her arms in front of her, toward the lake.

Instantly, a thick, stable layer of hard ice created a path to the isolated tower. Yahiko snapped out of the trance she had put him in and boarded the bridge unhesitatingly.

Yukina was glad that the person who was holding Botan trusted her enough to use her bridge without question. He barely knew anything about her powers and yet, he didn't doubt her control at all.

The tantei, Sesshomaru, Rin, and Kenji crossed the path as quickly and carefully as they could. The quickest on their feet reached the other side first. Yukina went last, slowly willing the ice to melt behind her. It obeyed.

On the other side, the large group met at the front door. Yusuke was about to ring the bell when Kurama stopped him with a you're-being-headstrong-again look on his face.

"WHAT?! We don't have any time to waste!" Kurama put up with his outburst calmly before he elaborated.

"Before we continue blindly, I think we should figure out who among us can speak English well."

Yusuke lowered his voice sheepishly.

"My English isn't too bad. I think I have an accent, but that was the only class I thought was cool when I wasn't skipping. What about you, Kuwabara?"

"Uh… I think I can say Yes and No. Or maybe it was Hello and Goodbye?"

"Forget I asked…"

"Hey! I probably know more than Mr. Short Dark and Creepy over there!"

"… and what uses have I for another baka ningen language?"

"Admit it! You just don't want to say I know more than you about something!!" Kuwabara did a little victory dance, only to be smacked in the head by Hiei and Shizuru at the same time. "Ow sis! What was that for?"

"You can be so embarrassing sometimes, little bro. Oh, and I speak English fluently. It's safe to assume you can too, Kurama." Kurama nodded to her.

"Well then, we know that at least three of us will be able to communicate." Genkai stepped forth.

"Make that four." Yusuke's jaw dropped.

"First in the Goblin King's territory with the video games, and now you can speak English too, Grandma?!" Genkai gave him a harsh glare that looked strange on her youthfully beautiful face.

"I will tell you the same thing I told you then, dimwit! Did you think I played solitaire for the past thirty years? I am capable of teaching myself, whereas you, slacker, can't even teach yourself respect for your elders!!"

Yusuke grumbled about bitchy grandmas, sentencing himself to three weeks of balancing on the point of a needle using his spirit energy as soon as possible.

Yahiko also revealed that he and Kenji could speak English, or at least enough of it to please the western traders coming over to Japan in their time.

"It is - or I guess it would be considered was - important in our time to be able to understand the western merchants so they didn't rip you off when you bought something from them."

Yusuke finally got to ring the bell…

A/n-yay! Chapter accomplished. Three things I want to say:

I know it was traditional on Tamaran for Tamaranians to wear the usual purple battle-type clothes, but since Starfire is not on Tamaran, nor is she ever planning to go back there in the near future, I don't feel any guilt in changing her outfit. Just letting you know that I know!

Robin and Cyborg have left. Robin may return later (In what manner I will not tell you, so you will have to keep reading) and Cyborg could possibly be mentioned later. If one or both of them are your favorite characters, I would suggest you read elsewhere. Sorry if that sounds somewhat bitchy… ^_^ you know I love you guys!

In case I have not already said so, here are the pairings that we are sure about right now:

Hiei/Raven Shizuru/Sesshomaru and Rin/Kenji.

Well, that's it. All I'm asking for is four more reviews than the ones I have! It will inspire me to write more if I think that my readers are enjoying the story enough to take time and review!!
