Meg:*sitting on Alex's back and waving a donut in front of her face* Want it? Huh?
Yuki:*seatdrop* Meg-chan, you're just asking for trouble...
Yuna:Why am I reminded of Hiei and Kuwabara?
Hiei:Don't insult me
Yoh:Uh, guys, aren't you supposed to be doing the next Demon Girl chapter?
Meg:Oops! ^_^ My bad *jumps up and grins* I'm home sick from school today, so that means I've got time to write! First on my list is Demon Girl
Manta:Isn't this the chapter where all the demons start to show up?
Yuki:Yep ^_^
Manta:*shudders* Great...
Meg:Anyway, Kurama-kun!! Do the disclaimer please!
Kurama:*gives Meg an evil glare for interrupting him while he's trying to beat Serena at chess* Meg-kun mercifully doesn't own Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, or any songs/stories/etc. that might be mentioned. Serena and Mohroh are property of Meg's cousin, Sere. Anything else is probably the by-product of Meg's, Yuki's, Tori's, or Panda's twisted imagination.
Meg: -_- lovely

"Harry, why is Angel smiling like that? You know that smile usually means trouble. Last time she smiled like that Fred and George spiked everyone's drinks and put candy spiders in our food!"-Ron in my Harry Potter fic on the train ride home after their fifth year. For my wonderful friends who have been very patienly waiting for me to get my Harry Potter fic up on the internet, I'm in the porcess right now. I'm going to be putting it up on my website since It'd be too big of a hassle to put it on FF.net.
~*~Demon Girl Chapter 1:Arrival~*~
"You're sure her name was Yuna?"Anna questioned.
"Yeah, I'm sure!"Manta grumbled, moving the ice pack on his head.
Anna looked angrily out the window. 'How dare she. How dare that demon try to get in contact with Yoh after I told her not to come anywhere near him!' "Manta, promise you won't tell Yoh about this."
"What? Why?"
"Just don't."Anna snarled. She grabbed the phone sitting on the counter and yanked it out of the wall jack. "I won't let that demon hurt Yoh."
"Is it just me, or are more spirits around than usual?"Manta asked, staring at a strange little toad-like creature with huge yellow eyes that seemed to be carrying around a staff with two faces on it. (Can anyone figure out the cameo?) "Weird spirits, too...."
Yoh stopped and watched the toad-thing run down the road. "Yeah, I guess. It's probably just because of the Shaman Fights, but it's been a while since I've seen this many demons."
"Demons?!"Manta yelped. "There's demons around here?"
Yoh grinned. "Of course. There used to be demon spirits all around my house when I was little. They won't hurt you, just try to posses you."
Somehow Manta didn't find that comforting. They made the rest of the trip to school in silence, Manta watching the spirits drifting around them and Yoh lazily finishing off his breakfast. By the time they arrived, the bell had already rung and the classroom was in chaos. Their teacher was nowhere to be seen and the class seemed to be celebrating.
"What's going on?"Yoh asked.
"Sensei's out sick!"one of the boys shouted.
"Free day!"A girl screamed.
The door suddenly slammed open with a bang. All eyes turned to a beautiful young woman standing in the doorway. She had flowing golden hair and sparkling amethyst eyes that glowed with the experience of an anceint demon.
"Get to your seats!"she snapped angrily.
The class obeyed with surprising speed. Most of the boys stared at her, drool hanging from their mouths. Yoh and Manta sat down by the window.
"Is it just me,"Manta muttered. "or does she have wolf ears?"
"Huh?"Yoh looked up. Indeed, he could vaguely see two golden wolf ears protuding from her hair, and a thick tail was swinging around behind her. "Wow, she must be a demon. I thought they didn't allow demons near the Shaman Fights."
"Class, I am Mohroh Lupine, your substitute teacher while your current one is sick."the woman said calmly. "I will warn you now, I do not like loud noises. Keep the volume at a minimum, and we should be able to get along." The drooling boys nodded dazedly. Mohroh smiled and turned to the chalk board. "Now, I know we were supposed to be studying Japanese culture, but that seemed far too boring." Many eyes lit up at this idea. "We will be looking at the spirit world."
A bold girl raised her hand. "Lupine-sensei, we're not supposed to things like that."
"And your point is?"Mohroh asked. "That's what we will be studying. Now, can someone give me the basic information on spirits and demons?"
Much to everyone's surprise, Yoh raised his hand. Mohroh nodded to him. "According to legend, there are three plains on which all living and non-living things exist: Ningenkai, or the human world wher ewe live, Reikai, the world of the spirits, sometimes known as the after-life or heaven, and Makai, the world of demons. The spirit and human worlds are ruled by Emperor Enma, while the demon world, while once under the control of a powerful demon family, is free from Enma-sama's control."
A surprised look crossed Mohroh's face. "Indeed. The Makai has remained unruled for almost five hundred years, and because of this, chaos reigns supreme. Theives are the true rulers of Makai. In fact, three theives in particular were know for their control of Makai."
"The Trinity. The king of bandits, Yoko Kurama, the theif king, Kuronoue, and the queen of theives, Mohroh."Yoh said nonchalantly. They were said to have ruled for nearly a thousand years, then suddenly Mohroh vanished, and her companions were killed."
Mohroh nodded again. "I was named after the queen of theives. As a child my father believed he was saved by Mohroh, so he named me after her."
"That's impossible."Yoh pointed out flatly. "A class demons like the Trinity could never have reached this world."
"Very true,"Mohroh smiled. "my father was notorious for seeing things."
"Kinda like someone else we know,"one of the boys muttered.
"Now, besides Mr. Asakura, who knows some other demon legends?"Mohroh asked.
This time Manta piped up. "What about Inutaisho and his children?"
Mohroh smiled braodly. "Yes, one of my favorites. A couple centuries ago, not long before the Meji era, the barrier between Makai and Ningenkai was broken, and hundreds of demosn escaped to this world. One of the most famous of these demons was Inutaisho, a wise and powerful dog demon. According to legend, he had three children: His oldest son, Sesshomaru, was a full demon and had an ego to match, his other son was Inuyasha, a hanyou, or half demon, who made their family truly famous. Inuyasha's twin sister, the wily Inuki, was the only thing the two brothers could agree on. Sesshomaru, above all else, hated half-breeds and humans. As revenge for his father falling in love with a human, he took the baby Inuki and threw her down a well. For more than half a century, Inuyasha and Inuki remained clueless as to eachother's existance."
"That's a long time,"a girl muttered.
"Not for demons,"Yoh corrected. "Demons have been known to live for more than a thousand years. Inuyasha and Inuki were still considered children at 68 years old when they met."
Mohroh nodded. "They later learned that the well Sesshomaru tossed his sister down was known as the bone-eater's well. This well would later cause the chain of events that led to Inuyasha falling in love with a human girl named Kagome, one of Inuki's best friends. The well itself was a actully a rift in time, and led to what we'd call the present day. Inuki was adventurous, even for a demon, and one day made the mistake of playing on the edge of the bone-eater's well not long after her seven'th birthday. She fell back into the Meji era and encountered her older brother. He saw the demon in Inuki, and chose to take her back as his sister after she slaughtered a pack of demons that had been bothering Sesshomaru."
Mohroh went on to tell how Inuyasha had fallen in love with a human preistess named Kikyo, and was tricked by a demon caleld Naraku and sealed to a tree for fifty years. On her fifteenth birthday, Inuki's childhood friend Kagome had been pulled down the bone- eater's well and awakened Inuyasha. They learned that Kagone was Kikyo's reincarnation, and thus it was her job to guard the shikon no tama, a jewel with the power to destroy all of Japan in the wrong hands. Unfortunately for Inuyasha and Kagone, who at the time hated eachother, the jewel was stolen by a demon crolw, then shattered into hundreds of pieces by a wayward arrow. And so the journey that would change ningenkai forever began.
"Y'know,"Manta mused as he and Yoh walked home. "Lupine-sensei's pretty cool, and she knows a lot about demon legends."
"I'm not sure,"Yoh muttered. "but I don't think she's an ordinary demon."
"Huh?"
Yoh stopped and stared up at a lamp post above him. A familiar red wolf was sitting on top of it. "The theif queen Mohroh was supposed to be a gold wolf demon with burning amethyst eyes."
"You think that our teacher is the same Mohroh!?"Manta yelped. "I thought that was just a myth!"
"It's real, just as real as the story of Inutaisho's children."
"What about the barrier?!"
"Demons have found ways to get around it." Yoh smiled up at the strange red wolf above them. "You never know. I've heard rumors that Kurama and Kuronoue have been reincarnated, too. Maybe they've got something to do with the Shaman Fights."
"I hope not,"Manta muttered.
