Chapter 1- Popularity List

 

Anime High's Popularity List; just one of those things that were totally unnecessary to Sagome

Shiomira; not that she really cared, it was just that there was no reason for some silly piece of paper with a bunch of ink on it to tell someone they're popular or not. Right in the middle of her thought, the KG walked in.

 

The KG (The K Group) was one of those groups of girls who are preppy and think that they rule the whole world. The worse part was that two of the members were related to her and both of them were leaders. Kikyo and Kagome Higurashi were her half sisters; Kagura, Kekkou, and Keiko were their followers.

 

“You are dismissed Goth Girl”, snapped Kikyo

“I'm sorry, but the last time I checked this is a public restroom”, Sagome replied still applying her black eyeliner

“Get out”, Kagome commanded

“I'm not going anywhere”. Kikyo and Kagome pushed Sagome into the tiled wall and the group surrounded her.

“You heard them”, Kagura growled, “They said get out. Have you no respect?”

“Have you ever heard of Listerine or Scope?” Sagome replied pushing her way through the group and turned around to see The Shallow Sorority walked in.

 

The Shallow Sorority; the name describes the girls. Straight up shallow. The leaders were also related to Sagome. Shimeta and Sango Tajiya were her god sisters, Ayame, Rin, and Botan were their followers.

 

“Well if it isn't the Emo Kid”, Shimeta chuckled

“Made any new cuts lately?” Sango ridiculed

“Decided to get a brain yet?” Sagome shot back, “This restroom is infested; I'm out”. Sagome grabbed her backpack, pushed her way through the group, and walked out of the restroom.

 

Yes, Sagome was a Goth, not an emo, but she hated when mainly everyone she knew used it as a negative. She had no friends, yet many people talked to her. Guys hate her, yet their stare follows her everytime she passes by one. It made no sense to her.

 

She spotted a crowd that surrounded the school's massive billboard. When she passed the people stared at her as if they were zombies, “What?” Sagome asked

“Have you even looked at the Popularity List?” asked Tenshi Namishima

“She has no reason to”, replied Keiko as the KG came over

“Yeah, besides she wouldn't even be on the list”, stated Ayame as the Shallow Sorority came near

“I don't know about that”, said Tenshi. She took the list down and handed it to Sagome. When Sagome saw who was #1 she was left in stupor. The two groups looked over her shoulder and had the same expression as her.

“I'm…#1?” Sagome questioned
