Chapter 2: The book, the forbidden child, and the evil demon Naraku

He read five pages before Kilala came in. He slammed the book closed and looked up. Kilala looked down at him and smiled.

"So I see that you found the book" she said sitting down next to Hiei. She handed him a sandwich and a coke, "Faster than I expected…" she mumbled. Hiei opened the book and began to read page six. This book…..it seamed so familiar to him…..it seamed as if he had read this before, but he couldn't remember when.

"This book" Hiei began, "I feel as if I have read it before…..but I cannot remember when" he read on. When he turned the page, he saw something that caught his eye. A young looking youkai…..and a darkness dragon, combining…..becoming one with each other. They both were pointed towards a baboon demon, with a dark mysterious aura around him.

"This….." he stared at the picture, "I…..am I…..?" he fumbled with his words.

"Yes Hiei, you are in that book. This book is passed down to every female in my family, we read and learn about this…..we read and learn about you Hiei, and how you defeat the great demon Naraku" she smiled slightly.

"But why? Why would you want to learn about me? Why learn about a forbidden child, and a darkness dragon…..what is so special about us? And this demon…..Naraku is it…..how do I know him?" he was now utterly confused.

"Ah…..Hiei…...This is something I do not know, like I said before…..I can't only answer so many of your questions, this is one I cannot answer" she looked down at the little youkai and her cold eyes softened. He looked at the book, wondering many, many things.

"Hiei…..there is one thing I can tell you….." she whispered.

"What?"

"This book…..This is how I knew who you and your friends were…..also, this book will answer all the questions I have not" Kilala looked down.

"But you have read the book, correct?" he asked clutching the book.

"Yes"

"Then tell me, why can't you tell me what the book says? Rather than me reading it" Hiei looked at the pictured again.

"Oh Hiei, you have much to learn in the world of magic" she laughed a little then stood up.

"Where are you going?"

"I must go see someone" she put on her cloak that was hanging neatly on the coat rack, tapped the 3 stones then walked out.

After she left Hiei opened the book and began to read aloud.

"The fire koormie called upon the dragon. Bursts of darkness flame sprang from the water and sky, then swirled around him. The evil demon Naraku stood ready for the attack. The fire koormie shouted Dragon of the Darkness Flame and swung his right arm towards the awaiting demon.

"A large dragon sprang from the fire koormie's arm, and hurled it's self towards its foe. The demon slowed the dragon down, and tried to turn it. The fire koormie snickered and added the last bit of energy to the dragon. The dragon charged up and plowed through the demon's defenses. The demon now being thrashed around, and now at the dragon's mercy.

"Then the demon cried something into the darkened sky, and threw the dragon at its wielder. The fire koormie stood shocked, unready for his foe's sudden attack. The dragon soared towards him, thrashing its head left to right, roaring a mighty roar, which cried victory.

"The demon snickered, as he watched the dragon attack his wielder. Once the demon assumed the battle was over, he casually turned and started to walk off. A ball of darkness flame flickered madly in the sky, as if something inside of it was trying to be released. The ball burst open, and where the dragon once raged, the fire koormie stood with a gleam in his eye which did not appear to be the same.

"The demon stood shocked. No one was stronger than him…..no one! But….this fire koormie, he was different, unlike all his foes before. He now feared this foe. The demon asked where the dragon had gone. Laughing, the fire koormie replied that he had learned what no others before him could, he had learned everything about the darkness flame dragon, because he now was the darkness flame dragon. The demon stood shocked, then he attacked the fire koormie with every bit of energy that he had left.

"The fire koormie laughed as he demon attacked him repeatedly. The demon soon gave up, panting and out of energy, he fell down to his knees. The fire koormie glared at him and remarked that if that was the best that he could do, then he should beg for mercy now. The demon lowers his head, ready to face death. The koormie looks at the demon, snickers, and says that he is not worth his time. The demon begs for death, but the koormie refuses to kill the demon, saying that if the demon wished for death so badly, then he should kill him self. The koormie leaves, leaving the demon to chew on his words. The demon vows to become stronger, vows to kill his foe, if it is the last thing he ever does.

"The phantom fortress disappears, leaving nothing but a big black hole, where the evil once rest, and where once thought to be dead people, rest in the control of the dark demon lord" Hiei read on, finishing the book. Kilala came back, fully aware that Hiei had read the book as told.

"So Hiei, do you now understand?" asked Kilala hanging her cloak on the coat hanger.

"I do…..this demon…..Naraku…...I must kill him, in order to see my friends again" he said, flipping back to the page with the picture of the koormie and the darkness flame dragon.

"So, shall we set off to save your friends tomorrow? We will need our strength, many, many strong demon work for Naraku, and we must kill each one" she sat on the couch and lay her head on Hiei. He blushed and looked at her.

"Hn" he answered, then fell asleep, with many things on his mind.
