Didn't You Notice?

Well how did you like the last chapter? Please review, I most likly wont write if I dont get alot. Please its not that hard. Any ways its polite, and you got to finish the story! Oh have you noticed I'm trying to put hiccups in every one of my chapters. I know its werid well just read on then.

Chapter 4- Hiccups Getting their noses dirty, ending up revealing the truth.

Kagome drove back to her house at around 8 o' clock in the morning, she didn't have much more to gone one then when she left. Her cell rang and she rummaged throught the junk on her passenger seat untill she found it.

"Ya." She said holding the cell phone with one and and driving with the other.

"Kagome, were are you?" Sango asked. Kagome laughed.

"Your in the bathroom arn't you." She heard a growl on the other end of the line.

"Ya ok so shut up! Were are you?" Kagome yauned and put on her turning signal and drove down her street.

"I'm about 2 minuets from home." She heard Sango take an intake of breath, she was going to yell or say alot.

"What do you mean!" She hissed. "That your two minuets from home! Schools in session Kagome." Kagome sighed and let out another yaun as she parked in front of the stepps.

"Well, lets see here why dont I tell you about last night. I went to Koruko's for a dinner party with my family. Inuyasha's family was there, we fought for a while then we ate. My mom dragged me to the den and started to beat me with this club looking thing. She was dragged off in an amblence to a mental faccilty or the hospital, the police asked us questions. I went home and fed Buyo, then went to the library to look up stuff on my dad, and I'm just getting home now to shower and change, and then go to school." She heard Sango gasp.

"Your just now getting home.... wait YOUR MOTHER BEAT YOU!" Sango screamed, and Kagome could hear her on the other line shifting around to make sure no one heard. Kagome knew no one had when Sango came back to the phone with a sigh of relief. "Kagome, take a shower, take a nap and I'll come over after school. Is anyone else there?" She asked, Kagome smiled at her over the phone as she finished walking up the stairs and went towards the house.

"No Grandpa's over and Koruko's and Souta's going back home with Shippo after school." Kagome opened the door to the house and turned around and locked it. She woulden't tell anyone but she had felt like someone was watching her the entire way home. "You woulden't happen to care if you and Miroku cut school and came over now would you? I guess I'm just being paranoid, but I really dont want to be alone when I don't have my mind on somthing." I could feel Sango sobering over the line.

"Sure Kago. Let me go get him." I smiled at her over the phone for like the 3rd time that conversation.

"Just tell Koruko he'll understand." They both said their goodbyes and Kagome waited in her living room she was not going to sit in that bath or shower or whatever she was going to take while being home alone. She wasen't really scared or anything, she just got that feeling. The one were your always with people, and then your alone and you just want to stay with some one for a while, just untill you fall asleep or feel better. She was extreamly glad she had such good friends.

Sango and Miroku were their in 10 minuets after Kagome and Sango hung up the phone. They nocked on the door and it flew open Kagome was standing there just happy that her friends were here now. Miroku and Sango just looked at her bruised face with band-aids and gauze over it. It didn't really look that bad it was just the fact that their friend, who was in fights all the time and got out with a scratch on the arm was so, soo, hurt. Kagome let them in before hugging both of them. She hugged Miroku first and he just hugged her back sorry he coulden't really do more. Then she went and hugged Sango.

Thats it she coulden't take it any more. Kagome broke down on Sango's shoulder. She started to cry. Sango took her and they sat down on the couch. Kagome's body that seemed to be so frail right now was shaking with the sobs. Miroku sat next to her and rubbed her back while Sango stroked her hair.

"Its alright, let it all out Kagome. Its been in there too long, let it out." She said looking over at Miroku sadly. He returned the look and they went back to soothing their friend.

"Souta.. [sob] was so...[sob] scared! I felt [sob] horrible. He just hung on [sob] to me crying [sob] before I left. He had [sob] never seen mom mad before!" Sango just held her friend rocking her back and fourth.

"But you haden't either had you. I mean not viloent!" Miroku said rubbing her back still.

"Ya i have." She said just above a wisper, both had barly heard her. Her sobs started to recede, but they were still there. "When I was 10. It was a year about [sniffle] dad died. The police had just put dad's case as a cold case. [Sniffle] She took it out on me. She.... she beat me.... and beat me. I think I was about dead when she.... went into early labor. Grandpa had Koruko pick up mom and take her to the hospital, he had me upstairs. I didn't go anywhere for about 3 ro 4 months. Grandpa brought Souta in for me to see him, he woulden't let mom in alone with me for at least a year. Its funny, Inuyasha is the only other person I ever told about that. He wanted to know what was going on when Grandpa would always send him away saying I was sick with weird stuff. Finally Grandpa let him in and I told him about it. You guys moved here right when Kikyo did. You didn't know I was friends with him before did you?" They both shook there heads in shock once again for like the third time that day. "I'm going to go take a shower, stick around... please." Kagome asked she seemed really worried that they would leave.

"We won't leave! Now go take a shower." They watched as she walked to the stairs trying to hide her limp, she could walk a little better now, but it was still there. Once she had gotten clothes and a clean towel and things into the bathroom and started the shower Sango looked at Miroku.

"That was... well strange. The most renowed enemies in the entire school, used to be like best friends." Sango said in awe. He nodded.

"I did always wonder why she seemed to be the person on best terms with Sesshomaru, well other than that Rin girl he tutors. I really should try that some time!" Sango looked at him weird.

"You want to try and tutor?" She asked. He smacked his forhead with his head.

"No I wan't to try and tutor!" Sango looked at him again.

"Thats what I said." He looked at her like she was crazy.

"Nevermind!" he said exasperated.

"EWW PERVERT!" She screamed and slapped him accross the face.

"You just figured that one out." Miroku said rubbing his cheek.

"Yes I did now stop being perverted!" She said with a huff.

Kagome's feeling of being watched came back when she was getting things out of her room. She looked out her window but didn't see anyone. She shut her blinds anyways. She took all her stuff to the bathroom and forgot about it. Kagome smiled as she was waiting for the water in the shower to warm up as she heard Sango scream somthing about being perverted and she heard a resounding slap from downstairs.

Why people put windows in bathrooms she did not know but she thought it was stupid. She closed the window and shut the blinds, but forgot one thing. To lock the window. She got undressed and jumped into the shower. She just let the hot water wash over her new bruises and old, new cuts and scars and old.

Yusuke sat at the lunch table.

"Any one else think this is kind of weird. Kagome dosen't show up for school..." Yusuke was cut off my Kwabara.

"I don't see what the big deal is, you cut school all the time!" he said.

"Yes but then Sango asked to go to the bathroom and wen't back for like forever, and then her and Miroku have to suddenly go to an appointment. Together, I mean from what you see they can't go anywere with out Miroku's hand on her butt and he was actually being very good and they looked really worried and serious." Botan clapped. he looked at her.

"You were so.... ummm sooo percieveive. [A/N: Umm couldent think ok!] Good job! And it somewhat has to do with our new mission!" Botan said.

"Ok so what is.... our new mission." Kurama asked.

"Well as some of you know Draguran was working with a very top security case. And by ways of ... eh hem blackmail was made to work with a group of demons. A very powerful group of demons. The Acci they call themselves." Every one could tell Hiei and Kurama knew what she walk talking about. Yusuke had heard about them and Kwabara like the ideiot he was had no idea. Well when they started asking to much he said no and well they killed him. Acutally were not sure who killed him. We are starting to believe it was one of his partners who thought he had been comprimised and didn't want him to give them any more than he had."

"What did they use for blackmail?" Hiei asked.

"His daughter. They didn't actually have her, that would make the mother go to the police, but they did have a shadow on her. He followed her every where, she had a shadow for about 5 or 6 years. She got very suspicious once and almost found him out."

"So who is this little girl?" Kurama asked.

"Well you all should know her very well by now." Yusuke growled at her.

"Yes but who is she." Botan smiled.

"Kagome Higurashi." Yusuke chocked on his food as did Kwabara. Kurama raised and eyebrow and Hiei looked positivly bored. [A/N: Rosie I'm really thinking of going your way for pairings I have to think out my plot a little more, but that should work! Give me a review if you want a certain pairing, I'll see if i can work it out!]

"Shit! does that mean they know about.... well you know!" Yusuke asked. Botan shook her head no.

"They stoped trailing her after her father died when she was 9." Kwabara looked at her.

"So why do you all know this?" He asked she sighed.

"We were thinking about having her on the force for a long time... a very long time. Like since she was born long time."

"Why?" Yusuke asked. "I only became one because I died at the wrong time."

"So did she... twice actually. She died during child birth but earned he life back, because Koenma senced somthing in her, and well you really can't test a baby. Then she died when she was 10."

"What happened when she was 10?" Kurama asked.

"Her mother beat her to death. It only took her about a day to hatch her egg into a little blue dragon that took her back to her body. Her Grandfather took care of her and woulden't leaver her alone with anyone but Inuyasha for a year." Yusuke choked on his food again.

"Inuyasha! What do you mean Inuyasha! Have you seen those two!" He hissed. Botan nodded.

"Yes I have. They were best of friends untill they turned 13 and Kikyo moved in to the neighborhood. She turned her against Kagome and they have never been friends since. Oh yes and while were on the subject, of ... oh wait nevermind. Oh yes but there is this. They have a shadow on here again. They want to recruit her or kill her. They dont really care which, they just can't let her get anywhere near what happened to her father and who the killer is." Yusuke glared at her.

"Well thanks for that little tidbit now! God she could be dead already!" He screamed and stomped off out of the school towards Kagome's house.

Inuyasha looked up when Yusuke started to yell at his friends. "God she could be dead already!" happened to sing through his mind, over and over again. `Good lord He couldn't be talking about Kagome could he? No, anyways I dont care she's a bitch!' with that settled he went back to paying attention to Kikyo. But he couldent get that day out of his head. They day he found out why Kagome's grandfather had been saying she had the measles and things like that for the last month and 1/2.

Kagome was laying on her side facing the wall and was petting her new kitten Buyo, the really fat kitten. Inuyasha had come up with her grand father and tried to look over but coulden't move without having to scream in pain. Her grandfather helped her roll over and Inuyasha saw her buised and cut face. She still had one of the scars it was right down her left cheekbone starting at the cheekbone that was level with her eye down about 2 inches. That was the same scar her mother reopened last night, the cut that her mother and dragged her nails through while Sesshomaru tried to hold her back, that one scar. She told him her entire story of what had happened and her Grandfather had gone down to get them some snacks. She started to cry. Inuyasha had gone up and sat with her, she was able to move around to sit against him. She layed her head on his shoulder putting her arms around his chest and cryed. He wrapped his arms around her, the 10 year old girl who had to start thinking like an adult. The kid who grew up to fast for her own good. The girl who was the only person he ever opened up to... ever.

He saw Kurama race off after Yusuke. `God I hope she's ok...' he coulden't keep himself from thinking,

"Inuyasha! Are you listening to me?" Kikyo asked. Inuyasha turned back to her.

"ya right here." He said looking down to the emotionless orbs. With out even realizing it, when he leaned down to kiss her he thought of Happy blue-gray eyes.
