Chapter 19: Love?

The hand in front of Kagome belonged none other then to Kurama. Kagome blinked owlishly at the hand and you know what our clever Princess said….

"Who the hell are you?" She asked backing away growling slightly at Youko Kurama causing her to trip over the Youkai named Kyuui that she was sitting on making her fall backwards with an `omph' sound.

She got up and rubbed her sore backside while glaring at the new face as if blaming him for making her fall on her ass.

"I am the demon form of Kurama." Youko replied in his deep, creamy voice with a hint of amusement at Kagome's earlier display.

"Oh." Kagome said. Everyone else sweat dropped.

"What? Was there some other reaction that you all expected?" Kagome asked curiously. She didn't get any response.

"Sigh are you all going to stand there all day and watch me like your waiting for me to do another `trick' or are you *gesturing to everyone that wasn't normally their* going to tell me what you want?" Kagome asked.

"Were Here to Congratulate You."

"Good job beating Hades."

"I would like to discuss some things with you."

"I came to check on you."

"Your Kits called me."

"Were always here."

Was all said at the same time confusing poor Kagome.

Okay…kagome thought. Koenma and his `team' are here to congratulate me, King Enma wishes to discuss something…Inutashio came to check on me. The rest of the Hakai are always here. Jakotsu's here because he just is and Kyuui is here because my Kits called him.

Kagome just nodded her head.

"Okay…Thank you Koenma and You as well Spirit Detectives."

"I will discuss whatever it is that needs to be discussed. Please go wait in my study. Kuro will show you the way." When Kagome said that a handsome Black midnight kitsune arrived and showed King Enma the way.

"Kyuui thank you for responding to my Kit's cries." Kyuui nodded his head.

"Jakotsu thank you for healing me." Jak beamed at me.

"Everyone else…Hi…Its good to be back." Kagome said with this goofy grin on her face.

The rest of the Hakai just chuckled and offered hugs which Kagome gladly took. Kagome was last in the arms of Bankotsu. He just groped her for old times sake. Kagome then growled and kneed him right where it hurt the most.

"Baka!" Kagome said mumbling under her breath about stupid perverts and how they were all going to get an unfortunate accident someday.

Youko smirked at some of the things she was saying even though he himself has had some lecherous tendencies. Its not his fault that he was a Silver Kitsune and he happened to like to let his sexual side out.

"Come on Kagome…I'll escort you to your study." Naraku said.

Kagome just nodded.

Naraku really didn't like the seductive and lecherous way that Youko Kurama was giving Kagome. While in Makai Kurama had changed back into his demon form causing a bit of uneasiness within the group.

Kagome took Naraku's arm and walked down the hall and up another staircase. Her study was on the third floor. Naraku opened the door and like a gentlemen let her enter first and he entered right after her.

Kagome bowed to Naraku and Gestured for him to leave. When Naraku was gone Kagome turned and bowed to Enma and took up her place at the head of the desk.

"What is it that you wanted to discuss Enma?" Kagome asked.

"The other Lords and Ladies…" Enma started.

"What? They What?" Kagome asked suddenly getting a not so good feeling about this.

" They think that it's time for you to get a mate…Being the Lady of the Northern lands you have to produce an Heir…Of your blood." Kagome seethed with rage.

"I have two heirs that are very capable!!" Kagome said.

"I know but they would not listen to me and it appears that they fear your wrath otherwise they wouldn't have sent me." Enma exclaimed to the furious demoness.

"What gave them the idea that I would take a mate none the less someone I don't know…" Kagome asked.

"They asked me to compile a list of Youkai you knew that are acceptable as mates that you know….Would you like to take a look at the list?" Enma asked sweating nervously…It was almost preposterous. He The Great King Enma was nervous because of this very demoness who could be utterly terrifying when provoked.

"Yes…"

King Enma handed her the list.

Suitable Mates for Kagome:

Sesshoumaru: 1st prince of the western lands.

Kuronue: Bat Youkai

Naraku: Spider Hybrid

Hiten: Thunder Youkai

Bankotsu: Human with Exceptional background.

Juuromaru: Demon specializing in strength and speed.

Inuyasha: 2nd prince of the western lands

Shizen: Kitsune

Kashaku: Inu Youkai

Jakotsu: Healer

Youko Kurama: In either Human or demon form he is formidable; Kitsune.

Karasu: Youkai (Race Unknown)

Touya: Ice Apparition

Jin: Wind Master

Yusuke: Leader of Spirit Team.

Suzaku: Thunder Youkai.

When Kagome read off these names she froze at the end wondering who on earth compiled such a list. Some of the people on the lists she would not mate. Reasons? Easy either they were interested in someone else, she held a different type of bond with them or she just didn't know them well enough, or just that she didn't know what they thought of her.

"No…" Kagome replied this time with a bit of force.

"Er…No?" Enma asked.

"Yes…You heard me NO.I will not mate with someone against there or my own will." Kagome said and rose leaving the room in a swish of clothing and slam of the door.

Enma sighed to himself. This was going to be a lot harder then he had originally thought. Kagome was going to be a problem if she didn't find a mate who could calm her. He knew that Kagome was untamable but perhaps someone could make her more approachable…

Kagome stormed down the halls into the gardens where everyone else was glaring at anything and everything that she looked at until she saw Jakotsu. She approached him settled herself in his lap and pouted while glaring at anyone else who dared to try and get close to her. When Shippo and Souden approached Kagome did nothing but open her arms in which they barreled into.

"What's wrong `Gome?" Jakotsu asked.

"Baka…Enma…Stupid…Mating…*Snort*… Never…My…Kami-sama…Why…Buttmuncher…blah… ;blah…blah…Kill…Must…" Kagome mumbled under her breath cursing Enma and the other lords and ladies in every different language, causing everyone else to sweatdrop.

"Uh…What?" Jakotsu asked.

"Stupid Lords and Ladies…Forcing me to take a mate! Then having the nerve to send Enma to deliver that message they should have come here themselves if they were so eager…And I would have ripped them to shreds! Then the world would be a much better place! Without Youkai that aren't chicken youkai that are chicken!!" Kagome growled going back to mumbling curses.

"Eh…I understand…Poor Poor `Gome!!! Who may I ask are they asking you to mate with?" Jak asked.

"Here." Kagome said and tossed him the list…"One of them…"

Jakotsu looked over the list and paled. Then he turned red and started to fall backwards laughing hysterically. Kagome looked at him oddly and asked what was wrong with him. He said nothing but tossed the list to Sesshoumaru who read it and blushed a bit. It was passed around to everyone with Kagome trying in vain to get it back. But that is not to be!!!

When it was passed on whoever just had it would restrain Kagome from getting it. Soon Youko was the last one to get it. He read it over and smirked. He held it over his head in a taunting manner. Kagome broke out of Kuwabara's grip and Chased after him yelling death threats when she got her hands on him.

"Come get it, Chit!!!" Kurama said!!! *Remember he is still Youko*

"Did you just call me Chit?!?!" Kagome yelled and resumed her chase using her wind powers to her advantage. Kagome chased him into the dense foliage.

Kagome had been chasing him for a good 10 minutes at top speed and was quite far away from home. She saw him slow down to a stop and open the door to the hut right in the middle of the forest probably expecting there to be a doorway in the back. ~Baka Fox~ Kagome thought.

What Kagome didn't know was that Youko knew that there was no other way out of the hut and was really just trapping her there. Kagome stepped into the hut smirking. But the smirk quickly vanished when she didn't see anyone or smell nor sense anyone.

"Damn…Where did that where did that damn fox go?" Kagome asked herself.

"Stupid Kitsune, why when I get my hands on him…" Kagome never got to finish what she was going to say.

She heard a sexy voice whisper down her neck asking her what she was going to do to him. He started to whisper naughty things into Kagome's ear causing her to turn about 10 shades of red. Kagome growled and spun around.

As Kagome spun Youko leaned forward and when she was completely turned she found that a set of warm lips had encased hers. Kagome growled even though it didn't sound remotely threatening. It sounded more of a pleasurable growl. Youko smirked against her lips and lowered her onto the futon.
