Let's talk telepathically!

'Kagome's powers
talking to her'
----
Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei all stood in
Koenma's office as the teenage looking spirit prince was pacing at
the latest report he had received from his detectives. Kurama had
confirmed that rumors were circulating about the mysterious demon
lord of the east was planning on competing in the next tournament
to determine the lord of the south. On
top of which, it seemed that some of the eastern demons had been
crossing over into the human world. It
was like this that Botan found them as she sprinted into the room
saying that a very powerful demon had just entered the
Ningenkai and was making his way toward
a town.
Koenma instantly took charge as he looked over
the others. “Botan make a portal to grab Genkai and one to
this demon. I will accompany the team to deal with it while you
gather Genkai and meet us at the location.”
The ferry girl nodded as she left through one
portal after opening one for the others. All of the men filed through
and found themselves to be in a forest and they were all easily
able to sense the dark demonic energy emanating from somewhere a
little ways off. Another energy had
Kurama darting off in a flash and Yusuke cursing up a storm. Even
Hiei tore off as soon as he felt his sister's energy swirling near
the energy of the woman from Yusuke's a few weeks prior. Koenma
took hold of Kuwabara and formed a barrier made of energy in order
to hurtle after the demons of their group, as that was the only way
that they'd be able to keep up.
When they finally neared the source of the
energy they slammed into a barrier and cursed their luck. Yusuke
began trying to tear it down with both his energy and his bare
hands while Kurama paused to study it for weaknesses. Hiei's
bandana was off and his jagan was glowing as he also tried to find
a way to penetrate the barrier. Koenma landed near them and
Kuwabara instantly tried his sword which cut through dimensions,
only to be stopped by the barrier after bending for a few moments.
Koenma also tried breaking the barrier only to be met with no
success.

Kagome and Yukina had been relaxing as Kagome
spoke lowly about battles against demons and humans alike for a
small bauble that caused nothing but immeasurable pain and trouble.
No names were named, but Yukina could easily gather that Kagome had
to be the time travelling priestess which held the group together.
It was the only explanation that allowed for the in-depth
information that the woman was giving out. Somewhere in the story,
the demon kitten called Kirara arrived and Yukina put two and two
together in order to figure out that it was the same fire cat from
the miko's tale.
Just before Kagome could end her story a weak
youki appeared nearby, causing both girls to rush from the water
and into their clothing before it could get any nearer. It was only
moments later that the scent of copper filled the air and both
women looked to each other, recognizing the scent to be blood. A
white haired woman stumbled into the small clearing, bleeding
profusely while carrying two small bundles in her arms. Blurry
violet eyes looked up into emerald green and the miko couldn't help
but gasp at the feel of the young girl's aura. She was so very
familiar looking that Kagome recognized her in an instant, but her
aura was so full of pain, sadness, and distrust that it was
heartbreaking.
The girl before her looked at them with guarded
eyes while blood still spilled from many injuries on her body. A
flickering barrier appeared around what Kagome knew to be a hanyou
girl, but Kagome paid it no heed as she rushed forward and through
it as though no barrier were there. The aura that was suffocating
the poor girl was achingly familiar and yet so startlingly
different. Her arms wrapped around the woman as said woman began to
growl. “Oh Shiori, what has Inuyasha done to
you?”
That made the woman pause before trying to
focus her eyes, but she simply couldn't. A soft cry had the woman
hugging her pulling back and looking to the two bundles held
carefully in her injured arms. Widened azure eyes took her in before
she felt that which she was trying to flee and began to whimper in
pain and fear because he had finally caught up to her.
A dark chuckle reverberated through the air as
all three women stiffened at the feel of the dangerous
youki. Kagome shifted slightly so that
she faced toward the sound while Yukina paled and moved closer to
her friend. “It seems I've caught you my dear, and now I
shall have to punish you for running away from home. But first it
seems as though I get to kill these worthless females first, or
maybe I can have some fun with them beforehand.”
Fear exploded from Yukina's aura and Kagome
resisted the urge to growl as she heard the sinister intent held
within that voice. Kagome moved into a crouch as she felt a barrier
rise around them and at the same time she shifted the bat hanyou
behind her with a few whispered words to Yukina asking her to try
to heal the girl's injuries. For once Kagome was glad of her
training as her hands twitched at her sides and unnoticeable to the
women at her back, dainty claws began to form where once blunt
human nails had been. “I'm afraid that I don't
play with
dirty hanyou.”
“Why you bitch,” the voice snarled
as he dropped down from his spot in the trees to face her. He
paused for a moment before chuckling darkly. “You remind me
of someone, a little bird in a cage.”
She didn't rise to the bait, not wanting him to
fully realize exactly who she was. Instead she narrowed her gaze at
him and gave a good impression of a growl. “What are you
doing here, half-breed?”
He snarled at her as he advanced to where she
was crouched. His right hand twitched as he grabbed his sword and
pulled it from its sheath. “I'm
here to collect my mate, little bitch. And if you don't watch
yourself I think I might keep you alive for a while yet just to
torture you into submission.”
Kagome's eyes narrowed as he confirmed her
suspicions about Shiori's aura before a soft growl escaped her
throat. Without thinking on the consequences of her actions she
flashed forward and in a shower of sparks his rusty old blade
blocked her sword made of pure white energy. His eyes narrowed at
her show of power, but he had no time to think as he
had many more
strikes to block. Power pulsed around the girl as the two entered
into a deadly dance, though in the end she managed to knock the
blade from within his hands to stand tip down in the
dirt.
“Keh, I don't need the dumb sword to kill
your dumb ass,” he growled as he charged her with his
claws.
She dodged to the side and blocked his next strike with a blast of energy. He growled
and his eyes darted to the women behind her before a devious smirk
lit up his face. In an instant she knew his plans and before his
next attack could land, her barrier formed, though a second to late
as one of his blood blades struck her shoulder. Against the pain
she managed to growl out, “that was low, even for a
half-breed like you. Learn that from Naraku?”
“Bitch,” he snarled as he rushed
her barrier with his claws.
A pulsing sensation reached Kagome as she
looked to her side and saw the Tetsusaiga still stabbed into the
earth next to her. In a moment of realization she reached out her
hand and took hold of the hilt, slowly drawing the blade as the
pulse quickened until the sword transformed before her very eyes.
Anger and hate appeared in Inuyasha's eyes in that moment as he
hadn't been able to get the blade to transform in centuries. The
woman's eyes turned to him and hardened as her barrier dropped and
the windscar began twisting around the blade. Another pulse and the
blade turned red as her eyes darkened. So low that even Inuyasha
couldn't hear, she whispered to the blade, “I never thought
that it would turn out this way and I'm sorry you feel betrayed,
but I will help you get revenge on the one you once called
master.”
“I'll kill you you little bitch!
Tetsusaiga is mine!” Inuyasha
screamed as he raced forward.
“Tetsusaiga was never yours,” she
whispered into the wind. “Windscar.”

Koenma had mere seconds to warn his team and
they all managed to scatter as the huge blast of demon energy raced
through where they had just been standing, leaving five deep gouges
scoring the earth. Hiei growled as he recognized that attack before
noticing the aura was nearby and seeing that it was indeed
Inuyasha, and he was bleeding. As one the demons moved to face the demon as he
called out to an unseen person, “ha bitch, you
missed.”
The team were all unprepared for the sight that
greeted them, as Kagome appeared holding a giant fang that Hiei
recognized to be Tetsusaiga. “I think not half-breed, for you
are bleeding.”
Hiei's heart stopped as that voice was so
achingly familiar, but it was impossible for this woman to be his
mate. His Kagome had died in battle five hundred years ago, not to
mention only hanyou and few demons could manage to wield the
Tetsusaiga like the woman before him was doing. Yusuke went to race
forward only to be stopped by the hanyou's blades of blood before
returning his attention to the girl. “I don't know who you
are, bitch, but my name is Inuyasha and if you call me that one
more time I'll make you beg for death before I'm through with
you.”
Even though he spoke, her eyes were not on him
as she met the eyes of the energy she had felt as soon as the
barrier had broken. Crimson eyes locked onto her own
azure as tears began
to form and a single name fell from her lips,
“Hiei.”
