Chapter 10

They started the fight. Whoop-dee-do. It was Sango, Miroku, Inuyasha, Shippo, and Link against Naraku and Ganon. Well really it was Sango, Miroku, Inuyasha, and Shippo against Naraku while Link fought Ganon.

They all seemed to be evenly matched.

~*~*~*~A little more than a mile away-Sesshoumaru's POV~*~*~*~

I had been traveling in search of my arrogant little half-brother to win the Tetsusiga. I also had a secret desire to see the wench, or rather, Kagome that traveled with Inuyasha. Ever since the one battle where my brother had transformed into his full-demon self while they fighting the moth youkai, I had started to respect Kagome (AN: you know that episode where there is a moth demon that took over the village and was taking all the women and then Inuyasha turned into a full demon after him and Miroku had been stuck in that cocoon of poison. That episode was on last Thursday). She had deliberately thrown herself in front of Inuyasha to stop my attack. I was in awe that she would do something so stupid yet loyal even if it risked dieing in the process. Just to protect my stupid brother. And yet he still goes to that stupid rotting bitch of a girl, Kikyou. How could he do that do Kagome? It angers me that she would stay with such an idiotic person when she could have much better. `Like me' he thought. (Kawaii! He loves Kagome and is actually jealous! Kawaii!!! I wish I were her don't you my fellow sistahs?)

~*~*~*~Back to normal POV~*~*~*~

Sesshoumaru let a smile drift across his face while thinking about Kagome. And after he was done, he decided he no longer wanted the Tetsusiga, but instead he was just going to get Kagome. Because the more he thought about her, the more he wanted her. `She would be a great mother to our pups and my girl Rin' he thought. `After seeing her with that kitsune kit, I am certain she will be an excellent mother'. Another smile flitted across his features. `She is definitely going to be my mate! And nothing is going to stop me from getting her! Even if I have to kill, I will have her.' And with that, he set off in search of his `soon-to-be-mate'.

~*~*~*~Modern day Tokyo, Spirit World~*~*~*~

Koenma sat at his desk in his big red his chair watching his T.V. screen intently. He had discovered that high spirit energy was in Tokyo. It came from a shrine. The energy level was incredible! And what surprised Koenma even more is that it wasn't even demon energy! It was plain human. Now that was interesting. And it was mostly by a strange well near the shrine. "I better have Yuske and the others get on this right away" the toddler said. "Boton?" he called.

"Yes Koenma sir?" Boton replied in her normal cheery voice, appearing out of nowhere.

"Go get Yuske and the others and bring them here. I have a very important new mission for them."

"Right away Koenma sir!"

Boton opened a portal and went through to get the spirit detectives.

~*~*~*~with Yuske and the gang~*~*~*~

Yuske and the others were sitting in Yuske's living room laying around on the couch doing nothing but sort-of watching the T.V.

"Man I am so bored" Yuske said in a bored voice. "We haven't had a mission in a long time."

"No kidding" replied Kurama.

"Hn" agreed Hiei

"……….. " Kuwabara was staring off into la-la land stupidly as usual. (lol! just imagine that and you will bust up laughing. I do every time I read it)

Then Boton appeared. "YUSKE! Oh whoops…hehe…"

The boys had all pretty much screamed in surprise at being yelled at and fell off the couch.

"GOD! Do you think you could yell any louder Boton?" Yuske yelled back, getting up off the floor and trying to stand up.

Kurama and Hiei were crouched over in pain because their ears had just been blown out and it went double for them since they were demons.(ok I know that that wouldn't happen to Kurama cuz he's in his human form, but hey, ITS MY STORY!) Kuwabara was still on the floor with swirly eyes.

"Oh I'm so sorry guys! I had to get you all as quickly as possible because Koenma said it is a really important mission. Koenma wants to speak to you all and tell you the details of the mission personally, so let's go back to spirit world." Boton said.

"Okay let's go then you guys." Yuske said to the rest.

~*~*~*~Spirit world~*~*~*~

"Finally you've all arrived!" Koenma exclaimed.

"Yeah, thanks for sending for us…" Yuske grumbled.

"Did I miss something?" Koenma asked. "Oh well, anyway… I have some very important information for you guys. Apparently there has been a lot Spirit energy coming from a shrine and the shrine well for the past couple of years.

"What?! Years?! Why hasn't this been a mission before?"

"Because, Yuske, the energy has never been strong enough to pose a threat, so I never really paid attention to it. But now that power has just about gotten about ten times stronger in the last couple of days. What I want you four to do, is go and find the source of this power and see if it's a real threat or not."

"That's it?" Yuske shouted. "You get our ears blown out just to go and look at a shrine?!"

"Well Yuske, why I'm so concerned is that that energy is not even demon energy, its human. And I want you to go check and see and make friends with him/her, so we won't get killed, because its energy certainly is strong enough to kill us…and the world maybe."

"Whoa, you mean that person is like, stronger than Uremeshi?" Kuwabara asked stupidly.

"Yes"

Meanwhile Kurama and Hiei were standing there listening silently.

<Hiei, what do you think of this new power?> Kurama asked.

<I don't know fox. It is pretty powerful. Could be a threat if we don't do what the toddler says.>

<Yes I agree. I really would rather have it be friendly and our ally than have it be against us and easily kill us.>

<Hn.>

They closed off their mental link, and left with the rest of the group to go to the shrine.

~*~*~*~ I feel lazy so I'm gonna skip scenes until they get to the shrine okay?~*~*~*~

"Whoa look at all these stairs!" Kuwabara exclaimed.

"Aaaaawwwwweeee man… This sucks" Yuske groaned.

So they started their long trek up the `endless' stairs. When they finally reached the top, Yuske and Kuwabara were panting for breath while Kurama and Hiei just stood there waiting. "Stupid humans…" Hiei muttered while rolling his eyes.

They walked up to the Higurashi household and rang the doorbell. An older woman who looked about to be in her 40's opened the door and smiled at them.

"Hello, and what can I do you for you four gentlemen?"

"Um excuse us miss. We were wondering if you could tell us about this shrine." Kurama said. The others let him talk since they knew he is the most polite.

"Oh you want to know about our Shrine?" They nodded. "Well let me go get my father. He knows more about this shrine then I do. Could you wait here for a minute?" They all nodded again. She went off in search of grandpa. A few minutes later grandpa showed up, a huge grin on his face.

"So! I hear that you want to see our beautiful shrine eh? Well I will give you the tour and tell you all the old legends along the way."

All of the spirit detectives mentally rolled their eyes and sighed. But Kurama being the polite one said,

"We would be delighted to hear about this shrine…" `Oh my god what have I gotten myself into?'

The old man `giggled' with excitement and was grinning even more, if that was possible. (Lol can you guys picture that?) Grandpa was so happy because he had never gotten this much attention for his stories. "Okay then! First off is the Goshinboku (sp?) Tree. One legend said that a hanyou was sealed to this tree…" Blah Blah Blah you know the story.

~*~*~*~sometime later~*~*~*~

The group finally get to the well. The Yu Yu group is bored out of their minds, but thankfully they are here what they came for. And also, thank god, Grandpa had to go help Mrs. Higurashi with something, leaving the Spirit Detectives to the well.

"Well, what do we do? There's nobody here even though there's a lot of energy… what do you thinks causin' it?" Kuwabara asked.

Everybody shrugged their shoulders.

Kurama was sniffing the air around the well and discovered the smell of a hanyou and the smell of something very familiar. VERY familiar.

"Hmmmm…maybe there's something at the bottom of this well…" Kuwabara said while leaning over the well and looking in. Then of course, the baka fell in. "AHHHHHHHH……!"

"Hn. Baka." Hiei stated.

"Hey Kuwabara don't get hurt dow- what the?" Yuske sputtered.

"What is it Yuske?" Kurama said looking at Yuske with a confused face.

Yuske, "see for your self" while pointing at the well.

Kurama and Hiei both leaned over the well. First they didn't do anything then a look of shock crossed both of their faces, even Hiei's. Kuwabara was gone.

"What the…" Kurama started.

"Well why don't we jump down in there too and see if anything happens?"

"Ok Yuske that is actually a good idea you've got there."

So they all jumped down the well and were surrounded by a blue light.

~*~*~*~Now in the Feudal Era~*~*~*~

Kuwabara was unconscious at the bottom of the Bone Eaters Well when the rest of the Yu Yu group came out. Lucky Kuwabara was used as a doormat, if you get what I mean.

They all finally got up and looked around. Kurama was the first to notice that there was no roof over the well but instead, a clear blue sky. And vines were all over the wall of the inside of the well instead of a ladder. And Kurama smelt that familiar scent again. He was itching to know why it was so familiar.

Kurama and Hiei jumped out and waited for Kuwabara and Yuske to climb up the vines. Finally all of them were out of the well, so they all stood there and took in the sight of the area around them (you should know what it looks like right?). Finally Kurama broke the silence.

"This is the Feudal Era…" he whispered.

"Huh? You know where we are?" Yuske said turning to Kurama.

"Yes, I do. I lived through this Era when I was Youko."

"Oh ok. So do you think you could show us around then?" (Ok I know that was stupid, but please bear with me)

All of the sudden they heard loud yelling and the sound of steel clashing on more steel. (Ganon has a sword too. Sorry if I didn't mention it before.)

"What the hell is that sound?" Kuwabara said.

"The sound of a battle, stupid human baka." Hiei said.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME SHRIMP?" Kuwabara yelled back.

Kurama decided to stop this fight before it got too far.

"Why don't we go and see what that battle is about? Besides if you stop for a second you can sense a lot of spirit energy coming from that particular area. Maybe that's the energy that was at the well."

"Hn lets go. I don't have time for this stupid human." And he walked away from Kuwabara before he could react. Kurama followed Hiei and then Yuske and finally, Kuwabara.

When they arrived at the scene of the battle, they were stunned at what they saw. (Okay, I'm going to be really lazy and not describe the battle field because it's easier just to say `use you imaginations, kay?')

Kurama sniffed the air and his eyes widened. The familiar scent he had smelled finally made sense. `Kagome?'
