Chapter Three: Heated Kisses

Sesshoumaru smirked, eyeing Kurama, who was sandwiched in-between the wall and himself. A strange sensation formed in the lower half of his body, and he frowned when a jolt of pleasure shot up his spine as Kurama moved slightly.

Kurama cursed himself for moving so naively, and wondered what Sesshoumaru's reaction would be… He got the shock of his life when a dark glaze covered Sesshoumaru's eyes. His breath froze in his throat when Sesshoumaru came down on his neck. Heart rate increasing dramatically, Kurama wondered what was going through the surely crazy lord's mind.

Sesshoumaru placed his nose by Kurama's neck, relishing in the smell of roses that poured off him in delicious waves. Wondering if he would taste as good as he smelled, he placed his mouth on the delicious curve of Kurama's creamy neck. Sucking softly, he dashed his tongue across the silky soft skin, tasting the boy. The whites of his eyes took on a red tint as he licked up the side of Kurama's neck.

Kurama shivered when the demon lord licked his neck. Jolts of ecstasy shot down his spine to pool in his lower regions. When he felt fangs scrape gently across his pulse, he trembled and bowed his head back to give the demon lord more access. One side of him knew what was going on, and that he had to stop it before it went to far, but the other side wanted the delicious torture to continue.

Sesshoumaru smirked when Kurama became pliant and allowed him more access to his creamy expanse of skin. Taking full advantage of the privilege, he sucked at the trembling redhead's throat. The skin beneath his mouth vibrated slightly as the human let out a low moan of pleasure. Smirking at the reaction, he continued to suckle away, reveling in the sweet taste.

Knees trembling at that point, Kurama tried to steady himself unsuccessfully. The lord just had that kind of effect on him. Whenever he tried to focus his mind, it grew hazy again with pleasure. Wasn't HE supposed to be the calm and collected one? At this point, he was reduced to a pleasure seeking youko, mind incoherent. His knees DID buckle, however, when Sesshoumaru began to nibble his earlobe. Luckily for him, Sesshoumaru had pushed him up against the wall hard enough to keep him in an upright position.

Smirking when the human collapsed, Sesshoumaru continued the ministrations on the obvious weak spot, attacking it with new vigor. Kurama trembled beneath his mouth, eyes already rolled back in his head, lids closed. Moans continuously poured between lush lips that Sesshoumaru was aching to kiss. That ache was very real, however…

Kurama, eyes closed seeing that his senses were overloaded, wasn't prepared for the sudden kiss Sesshoumaru bestowed upon him. He gasped when he felt warm lips upon his own, unintentionally allowing Sesshoumaru access to his sweet cavern.

A pleased growl resonated in Sesshoumaru's chest as he tasted ever corner of Kurama, not leaving one place untouched by his tongue. The human's taste was very pleasing, and he had a hard time controlling himself. His demon blood demanded that he take the human then and there, while his more reasonable mind was straining for dominance. He knew that if let his demon free, Kurama might not survive the brutality of the harsh sex.

Not wishing to damage the precious treasure he had found, he beat down his inner demon and continued to pleasure Kurama mindlessly. His teeth nibbled on the redhead's earlobe, eliciting a louder moan from the incoherent boy. Smirking viciously, he bit down a little harder, this time with a fang. Not hard enough to pierce skin, he gently ground his top and bottom left fangs in circles into the earlobe, massaging it.

Kurama's mind was a haze. Not only had Sesshoumaru found his weakest spot, he had used the information to his advantage. Kurama was in such bliss he could not form intelligent thought…He was barely aware of a loud piercing moan cutting through his throat as Sesshoumaru kneaded his (Kurama's) earlobe with his fangs. Pleasure overcame Kurama in waves, overloading his senses like an electrical surge. His body could barely function at that point, and it was a wonder he could still breathe.

Sesshoumaru smirked as he received the desired effect, but knew his fun had to come to a stop. Letting go of the small bit of flesh, he pulled away from Kurama and watched as the redhead crumpled weakly to the floor. Proud of himself, Sesshoumaru watched with dignity as Kurama weakly opened his eyes to survey his predicament.

Weakly trying to stand, Kurama mentally winced when his body was as unresponsive as a newborn child. Almost growling in annoyance, at both the loss of control and the loss of pleasure, he focussed his energy on standing on his two feet. He succeeded in straightening, but was not prepared for the wave of hazy dizziness that overcame him, causing him to fall forward…

Right into Sesshoumaru.

The cool Lord raised an eyebrow at the redhead, but smirked when he realized the boy couldn't stand, let alone walk, properly. Deciding to be kind to Kurama, Sesshoumaru helped him stand properly and held him still until he had enough control to stand properly.

Kurama would have glared at Sesshoumaru when he saw the demon lord's smug look, but he held himself back when the lord helped him stand. Wanting to sigh and roll his eyes, Kurama pulled away from Sesshoumaru and tried to spare his already wounded pride. Standing on his own, he gave Sesshoumaru a look of defiance that DARED the lord to say something.

Sesshoumaru became slightly amused when Kurama looked at him defiantly, but chose to ignore the human's insolence.

"In a few days time a gladiator match will be held," Sesshoumaru began unexpectedly, "You were purchased to become a gladiator for this event. The event's purpose is to amuse the lords of the four lands and their generals. After all the humans have killed themselves and one remains, one of the lords' generals will kill the human. By the rules, if another of any race ever defeats a general, the one to defeat him will take his place. You are human. The chance of you defeating all the humans and a general is slim to none. Yet, I have taken a liking to you…" Sesshoumaru leaned down and placed his mouth by Kurama's ear, eliciting a shiver from the redhead. "…and so, I will help you. I cannot remove you from the gladiator match, because I am forbidden to take you as a sex slave… So I will make you a deal. I will give you my sword, Toukijin, for the fight. I would much prefer you to live, than die, so I will have my general, Hikume, try to defeat you. Hikume has become too sure of himself, and my position and lands may be at stake if he were to be foolish. A general does not have to fight, he may be the tactician, and so that will be your job when you defeat Hikume. And, when you do…" Sesshoumaru licked the outer shell of Kurama's ear, "…you and I may be more than just general and lord…" A smirk darkened his usually stoic features as he pulled away from Kurama.

Kurama's eyes were wide as Sesshoumaru pulled away. `A gladiator? Sesshoumaru wants me to win… yet I'm `human'… Will Sesshoumaru go to such levels to make me his general? Would it not be embarrassing to have a `HUMAN' general? Well, technically I'm not as `human' as he thinks… Or is it just that Sesshoumaru wants Hikume dead?' Within the flurry of thoughts, one remained clear as water, `What does Sesshoumaru want?'

Sesshoumaru's features became stoic again, and he looked at Kurama with emotionless eyes. "I will have Hikume take you back to your cell. I trust you can live long enough to face Hikume, I do not want you to die by a human's hand. I will give you the Toukijin when you face Hikume in the last round, but I must warn you. Toukijin has a very demonic aura, and it will take control of your mind. When I take the sword from you, you will return to your senses, and will then become my general. Good luck." With that said, Sesshoumaru turned around and gracefully left the library, leaving a very shocked Kurama staring at him.

Kurama's mind was a flurry of emotions and thoughts, all revolving around his head in a convoluted knot of confusion. `What is the reason behind Sesshoumaru's motives?' was one of the more common thoughts on his mind at that moment.

Deciding to clear his mind of all thoughts, Kurama went back to reading the book he'd found in Sesshoumaru's library…

**With Sesshoumaru**

Sesshoumaru walked gracefully down the halls, heading in the direction of his office. Hikume would be punished for his insolence, though in reality Sesshoumaru didn't mind him looking through his library.

Arriving at his office sooner than the spaced-out lord had expected, he entered calmly and faced Hikume on the other side…

**With Kurama-chan** (^_-)

Kurama was jolted out of the book on the Shikon no Tama when Hikume burst through the doors of the library.

Striding hotly up to Kurama, Hikume grabbed the human by the hair and dragged him off to the cells.

Wincing slightly and glaring hotly (he IS a redhead you know) at the fox-demon, Kurama wrenched his hair delicately (how can you wrench hair delicately? don't ask me! I'm just the writer! ^_-) out of the angry demon's hand before the kitsune tore it off (purposefully I bet *growls at bastard Hikume*).

Hikume barely noticed that he no longer held a mop of red hair in his hand, he was so furious. Sesshoumaru had backhanded him for his mistake, and Hikume wasn't going to let the human get away with it. Unfortunately, Sesshoumaru had forbidden him from hurting the human. `I wish the human will survive the gladiator matches, just so I can rip him apart in the last round,' he thought hotly to himself.

Reaching the cells soon enough, he pushed Kurama roughly inside, causing the `human' to stumble slightly. Glaring at Kurama coldly, he left the dungeons, his tail twitching in annoyance behind him.

Kurama watched him leave, amusement dancing in his eyes when he noticed Hikume's kitsune tail flicking back and forth furiously.

The humans eyed him with incredulous expressions, not expecting him to be alive.

One of the braver mercenaries asked, with shock in his tone, "How are you still alive?"

Kurama turned to the mercenary in surprise. "How am I still alive? I wasn't aware that I was supposed to have been killed," he said, a small smile tugging the corner of his mouth upward.

The mercenary looked shocked, "You smile when you were so close to death?"

`Close to death?' Kurama wondered to himself. He almost burst out laughing with the thought, `I was closer to an incredible release rather than death…' "Why NOT smile? You all need to cheer up in you last few days of life." Kurama flashed them a pleasant smile before going back to his bit of wall and sitting down.

All the people present looked at him in shock, thinking, `He's CRAZY!!'

Kurama guessed what they were thinking and sent them a pleasant look before closing his eyes and letting his body rest…

**While later**

When Kurama woke up again, all the humans were asleep, unintentionally resting from their long treck across the Western Lands. He eyed them all, feeling pity for every last one of them. They did not deserve such a death, although the demon lords may believe so. A small sigh escaped his lips when he realized that nothing could prevent their upcoming deaths.

Turning his eyes to the guard outside the cell, he was surprised to find such a weak demon standing there. The demon himself was humanoid, but his spirit energy was weak, and without his weapons he would be easy to pick off with a well-placed plant. Smirking slightly to himself, Kurama exorcised the thought of escape. Thinking it over, he decided that it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do in a castle that he was VERY unfamiliar with. It would be like a mouse trying to escape from a maze…

Another sigh escaped him, and he thought, amused, to himself, `If I sigh any more than I have, I'll be turning into a stressed mother.' Closing his eyes again, Kurama went deep into his thoughts… `Why would Sesshoumaru want me to live? To his eyes I'm only a human, so why would a great demon lord such as himself have any interest in me? Is it just because he's attracted to me? My mop of red hair DOES stand out in a crowd…' His thoughts trailed off as he once again fell into a light sleep.

He awoke again to the voice of the guard.

"Heh heh, you pathetic humans will die this day, for the gladiator match begins soon!" With that said, the weak demon laughed evilly as he gave the humans in the cell a cold smirk.

"Pathetic, are we?" Kurama asked, his eyes still closed, though they were shadowed. This caught all the humans' attention. "For a demon, you are rather weak yourself, are you not?" Kurama said, a small smirk etched on his shadowed features.

"What was that human?!"

"I believe you heard me quite clearly, or are you so weak that your pathetic hearing could not hear my question?" Kurama asked again.

"I'LL KILL YOU FOR THAT COMMENT!!" the guard yelled as his eyes turned blood red.

"Oh? You will, will you? You are so easily angered, no wonder you have such a belittling job, a cell guard."

"WHAT?!!" The demon yelled in outrage.

"You did not hear me again? I am disappointed in your abilities."

"THAT'S IT!! DIE HUMAN!!!" With that yelled the demon lunged at him, but ran straight into the bars of the cell.

"Don't tell me you forgot the bars to the cell existed? How pathetic."

At that point, all the humans in the cell were looking at Kurama with incredulous looks of horror.

"WHY YOU!!" The demon angrily reached for the keys that hung from his belt.

"Oh? You need keys to get into this cell? Don't tell me you are too weak to break through mere metal?"

Completely outraged, the demon's blood red eyes narrowed and he lunged at the cell bars again, this time ripping them from the walls.

The humans, even the mercenaries, ran to the far corner, trying to get away from the demon in a rage.

"PREPARE TO DIE, HUMAN!!" the demon yelled.

But apparently, he was heard, and before the demon could swipe his claws at Kurama, none other than Sesshoumaru tore him into a million pieces.

Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at Kurama, who remained unruffled. "It seems you are finding other ways to amuse yourself," he commented emotionlessly.

Kurama smiled at him. "It seems so," he agreed.

The other lords who had followed behind looked at Kurama with incredulous expressions.

Lord Kunei was staring at Kurama with a look akin to shock written on his features. Eyes wide, he observed as the Lord of the Northern Lands, Nenki, and his mate, Sumi, walked forward to get a closer look at Kurama.

Lord Nenki's face became sour as he examined Kurama's small, amused smile. "I do not see what is so important about this weak human," he said, distaste clear in his voice as he looked down his nose at Kurama.

Emerald green eyes narrowed slightly, becoming sharper and far more intellectual as he watched the `show' before him.

Hikume snorted and replied cockily, "He's nothing, just some weak little human boy who managed to be born with the beauty of a girl. So what? There's nothing special about him." He said the last part with an angered darkness within his voice.

Sesshoumaru, who was watching the whole scene play out, finally stepped in. "We are leaving now. You have been given the closer look you desired, Lord Nenki and Lady Sumi," he said emotionlessly.

"Of course, Sesshoumaru," Lord Nenki said, looking at Kurama with distaste written clearly upon his features.

Sesshoumaru took one look at the barless cell before him and ordered, "Hikume, move the humans to another cell and guard them. Do not lose your temper as the previous cell guard did."

Hikume, wishing to object to being reduced to a cell guard, said, "Why do I have to?! The gladiator matches begin soon, why don't we just take them all the to the stadium right now and prepare for the fights?!"

Sesshoumaru looked thoughtful before he said smoothly, "Take them to the dungeons in the arena. Prepare them for the matches." And with that said, Sesshoumaru walked away, leaving a smirking Hikume eyeing the humans that he had the pleasure of seeing kill themselves in the arena.

"Come on, vermin," he said cruelly, smirking coldly.

The humans, scared out of their wits, hurried to obey. Even the mercenaries looked somewhat frightened. Hikume glared at Kurama, silently ordering him to follow the order.

Kurama, face smooth, stood from his sitting position with ease, and followed the rest of the frightened humans out of the `cell'. (AN: not much of a cell now ppl ^_-) He watched with sharp eyes as Hikume began to walk down the hall, the humans following him fearfully. `What am I going to do?' Kurama asked himself, `I could either hope that Sesshoumaru helps me, or I reveal my powers and kill Hikume myself…' Beginning to compare good points against bad, Kurama tried to decide what he was to do. `If I kill Hikume with the help of Sesshoumaru's sword, everyone will think I'm a regular human as I become the general. However, if I kill Hikume with my own abilities, the lords and their generals will believe that I earned my post, and will not hold a grudge against me… Decisions, decisions, decisions…'

While Kurama was thinking, they had arrived at the arena's holding cells. Hikume then ordered groups of humans into each cell, dividing up the levels of skills evenly. Kurama was placed in a cell with two mercenaries and three villagers. The two women and the man looked scared, and were shaking uncontrollably. The mercenaries had cold emotionless expressions on their faces, but Kurama could smell the pungent smell of fear radiating off them in waves. Pity welled up inside him again, and he hoped that their deaths would not be too painful.

`Now, what is my action? Will I kill Hikume myself, or let Sesshoumaru give me the sword that will take over my mind and kill Hikume for me…' Kurama thought to himself, mentally frowning. He had no idea what the best choice would be. Would he ever have the chance to find the Shikon no Tama? It was the only thing that he could use to get him back to his own world! `Will it be easier to search for the jewel if I were known as a demon or not…' Finally deciding, he thought to himself, `It will be easier to be sneaky if I am suspected at being a human. If the lords cause a problem for me, then I will deal with it when and/or if it comes.' Decision made, Kurama relaxed, leaning against a wall, preparing himself for the bloody battle that lay before him. `I am no longer in my own world. Therefore the rules of my world do not apply to this one… I will have to kill humans, I have no choice in the matter… I just hope that their deaths may be swift and painless.'

However, Kurama didn't know that no matter how much he wished, the humans would die painful deaths that he had no say in…
