Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru and their companions settled down in the clearing where the others had set up camp. Kurama shot to his feet when he saw the blue haired deity.

- BOTAN!!!

- Kurama-kun?? What are you doing here?? squealed Botan and rushed over to Kurama and hugged him tight.

- Long story… but what about you? What are you doing here? asked Kurama.

- Koenma sent me here to collect souls that had been trapped and I met these wonderful people, said Botan and made a gesture towards Inuyasha and his brother.

Inuyasha felt a sting of jealousy, but he then mentally knocked himself over the head. Kurama were mated to Sango, he was no threat…. "Man there I go again, thinking about her in that way. I need to stop thinking about mating with her." He sat down before he made a fool out of himself.

The little reunion was completed when a blushing Kagome and a smirking Miroku entered the clearing, holding hands. Inuyasha could not keep quiet so he blurted out a congratulation to the recent mating. He was smacked in the back of the head by Sesshoumaru. The tension was released and everyone laughed.

Inuyasha and Shippou went hunting; they needed something more than just ramen to feed the group. Shippou was happy there he sat on Inuyasha's shoulder. Just being close to Inuyasha made him feel safe and protected. The hanyou would always be there for him, like a father should be.

- Umm Inuyasha?

- Yes Shippou-chan? asked Inuyasha and sniffed the air for a prey.

- Would you be very mad at me if I called you daddy? Shippou bit his lip with his fang and fiddled his fingers together.

- No Shippou-chan, I would be very happy if you did, said Inuyasha and took Shippou from his shoulder and smiled towards the kitsune.

- REALLY??!!

- Yeah, really… I must admit I have seen you as my pup for quite some time… but I..

Inuyasha's last words were muffled when Shippou hugged him tight, sobbing into his neck. He rocked him and purred in content. Even if he did not have a mate he did have a son, a child of his own.

- My pup, he whispered and swallowed the lump in his throat.

- My dad.. said Shippou in return.

Inuyasha cleared his throat and mumbled something about the hunt and Shippou nodded and the both put their noses together and searched for something to bring back as food.

Botan chewed on her lip, Inuyasha and the little kit had been gone over an hour now and she began to worry about them. She looked around the camp but none seemed to notice it. She rose to her feet and mumbled an excuse about needing to stretch her legs. She walked away from the camp and as soon as she was out of eyesight she summoned her oar and she took to the sky with it.

Her sparkling purple eyes searched the woodlands below and when she saw a red blur rush through the forest she was relieved. She did not want to disturbed them so she just hovered over their heads, following them around until she knew she could descend without scaring away what ever they were hunting.

Inuyasha knew that they were being watched by the ferry girl and it made him feel strange and he really put himself out to do his best, wanting to prove that he was a good hunter. Soon he and Shippou had caught a deer and he felt proud.

- Wow Inu-papa! That was awesome, said Shippou and looked down on the deer. Inuyasha had managed to take down the prey with one painless strike with his claws.

- I will teach you when you get a bit older how you can do it, said Inuyasha and blushed lightly over the compliment.

- Oh, good.

He looked up and saw the flying girl above and he smirked before he took the deer over his shoulders and Shippou on top of it, singing about how good his new father was at hunting. "Yes Shippou-chan, sing out to the world how good I am, perhaps that little ferry girl can… Shit I am doing it again." He swallowed a growl and began running back to camp.

Inuyasha gave the deer to Sango and Kagome so they could make something of it. Kagome made a disgusting sound, but Sango nodded and went about to skin and clean out the animal. For a moment there was a chance that Kagome actually would pass out, but she was too stubborn, instead she took a deep breath and willed away her nausea and helped Sango to cut pieces to cook over the fire.

Inuyasha said to Shippou to stay in the camp while he went to wash the blood he had gotten on his hands and clothes. Shippou began telling everyone about how he had a new father, and that made him and Rin cousins. The two began laughing and dancing around and Sesshoumaru sighed deeply. Sango giggled and Kurama pulled her down and whispered questioningly if she wanted kits of her own. Sango blushed ten shades of red and stuttered something about fixing dinner instead of answering him.

Inuyasha found the stream and took off his red haori and dipped it into the water and washed the blood off. He cleaned his hands and claws and laid the red cloth to dry in the late afternoon sun. He sniffed the air and smiled when he noticed Botan's flowery scent drift by his sensitive nose.

- Botan-chan, you can come out now, I know you are there, said Inuyasha and sat down cross legged on the ground.

- Ehh… hi, said Botan as she came down from the sky.

- Hi…

- You have been spying on me… why? asked Inuyasha, his voice masked with a seductive lace.

- I… I…

- I did not mind though… I kind of liked being watched. "Why am I saying this? I shouldn't play with her like this."

Botan turned around, hiding her blushing face. His purring voice was making her body tingle with odd sensations, something she never had experienced before.

- Come and sit down and let's talk a bit? asked Inuyasha with his dark voice.

- O-ok, said Botan and sat down next to him, still not looking at him.

- So, why did you follow us when we went hunting?

- I.. I did not at first, but when you had been gone f-for an hour I… I thought that you might had b-been hurt and I only wanted t-to make sure you were alright, stuttered the little ferry girl, nervously fingering on her obi.

- Feels good to know that you care Botan-chan, purred Inuyasha and moved closer and put a clawed hand under her chin and gently forced her to look at him.

She blinked several times when she saw the dangerously glimmering amber pools. "Why does it feel like I have a lot of butterflies inside my belly?" she silently wondered as she tried to divert her eyes from his.

Inuyasha shook his head lightly and he tore his gaze away from those glittering jewels that were her eyes.

- Come, I'll carry you back to camp, he grunted and rose to his feet. He took hold of her right wrist and pulled her up to stand in front of him.

- A-are you s-sure? 'Cause I can walk… said Botan.

- I want to Botan-chan, said Inuyasha with his purring voice. - I like to carry you if it is ok with you of course.

She nodded with red roses on her cheeks. He tied his haori around his waist and picked her up bridal style. He smiled when he heard her yelp softly. She had probably thought he would take her on his back again, but no, he wanted to look at her as he sped through the forest. But it got even better because she put her arms around his neck and buried her face in his throat. He could feel her warm breath tease his skin and he got hard in an instant. "This is not good, I am already considering her to be my potential mate. And if we keep this up I will take her without a doubt." Inuyasha heard her deep sigh as she snuggled her face deeper into his neck. "No doubt at all."
